Reconstructing while still using as much of the old as possible is better than just letting it go back to earth. That is if you want people in the future to see how things were. History....
I recommend anyone going to Wyoming check this out along with neighboring ghost towns Atlantic City and South Pass. If you book ahead of time you can tour the restored Carissa Mill. We went over Labor Day weekend 2021.

Atlantic City is a great town to checkout. Very unique.
