You must live in the most beautiful place! We rarely get snow in the piedmont and coastal areas of NC. In fact, I didn't wear a coat this past winter. We do have the Atlantic and the Blue Ridge Mountains which are pretty special. I hope to visit Colorado sometime in my life. What a beautiful place for an artist to live. Thanks for the tutorial.
Great study Dan. Thanks for sharing. It is challenging to stay focused and in the moment when someone starts talking to you but it’s part of the Plein air experience and handled it like a pro man. Happy painting my friend.
Thanks, Dan. This sort of scene is ubiquitous around here (although frequently too cold to paint en pleine aire) so seeing your approach is very helpful! Stay safe, healthy, and warm out there! I never thought of using that fan/blender brush for twigs, individual strands of grass, etc. I have a sword brush that works pretty good for those, but I am gonna give this technique a try! 😊
Thanks for sharing. A;ways I learn a lot from you. Some color info would be very helpful. I love that warm brown you made for bottom part of painting. Do you mind sharing ?
Hi Nishit, thank you! As for colors-It’s all just a mix of warms and cools from my usual palette. You can see the colors I use and my palette arrangement here danmarshallart.com/watercolor-materials/
Hi Dan that neighborhood and trail were my old running route . Loved seeing you capture the winter beauty and hearing the familiar birds.
Thank you Dan, very enjoyable watching you paint. our dog started howling when she heard the sirens in the background. Great start for 2022.🤩
Haha thanks! Sorry for the barking!
