      Cats pick their people. If you try to go the other way around then it's *not* gonna be a great time.
      If you're lucky though, they can be won over with time and treats. :)

      Servals and Cheetahs were highly sought after pets for royalty, nobility, and upper class merchants throughout Africa, Southern Europe, the Arabian Penninsula, and Western Asia for over a thousand years, in fact the Cheetah population dwindled due to the high rate of theft of their cubs for sale as pets.

    • @TheStraightestWhitest
      @TheStraightestWhitest 2 роки тому +13

      It isn't bullying to tolerate a pat on the head. Dogs are simply wired differently as group animals. Cats are solitary animals. They act like they're alone on the planet, so the moment something bothers them, they bite. Doesn't matter how close they are to the person they're hurting.
      Cats have been known to eat their owners within three hours of death. There's been cases where they ate their owners who were still alive and sometimes even survived as they were simply comatose. For dogs, it takes them an average of four days without food before they'll eat their owners, and many have been known to starve or go rabid from hunger without ever touching their owners.
      Loyalty is the word to describe dogs, not tolerance.

    It was good the person let the kitty sniff them, ears back and hissing and growling is a sign to go sit on the other side of the room and wait for the cat to become used to you and see you as less of a threat. Giving the cat treats helps too 👍😂

  • @carmandirda

    Hissing aside, they are clearly show body language that they don't want to engage. Signs upon signs upon signs saying "don't come closer please!" Very sweet baby who just wants their space.
    Glad it didn't end worse, but I wish people would respect animals' boundaries more. Better to introduce him by having him sit across the room or at least out of arm's reach and let the cat decide what to do from there.
