As they don’t even mention Trippier I’d expect them to all have Walker on their fantasy teams or they are full of it.
What 😂
Walker is a far better defender than Trippier, that's why. Maybe Trippier is more likely to get an assist on fantasy football because of his delivery, but Walker has better pace and can defend better.
@axel5178 not to mention trippier pocketing Mbappe couple weeks ago
Trent, Henderson, Ward Prowse all should start over Phillips in midfield. The perfect balance in a midfield would have Jude and Trent alongside Rice
4-2-3-1
Pickford, Walker, White, Stones, Shaw, Rice, TAA (off the ball sits in a double pivot with Rice, but off the ball can either be central spraying passes or drifting wide when Saka or Foden cut inside), Bellingham, Saka, Grealish, Kane. The only thing is that you miss out on Maddison who is doing well, then Bowen is doing well; the morale of the story is that we have high quality attacking players so it is essential not to put in an extra defender like Southgate usually does.
My XI if everyone is fit
Gk Pickford - He's generally been very good for England and the other options aren't exactly world class
DL Shaw - One of the best LBs in the world on his day. Chilwell is good but nowhere near Shaw
DR Walker - No explantion needed. Greatest RB in PL history and still at his peak
DC Stones - Best England CB by a mile
DC Maguire - I just don't think there's any other CB who is good enough. Maguire has been very good for England and has a good understanding with Stones
DM Rice - Quality player and no real competition for this role
LCM Bellingham - Automatic choice, sensational player
RCM Trent - He plays a lot of football in midfield for Liverpool now and his defensive play is much better in the middle than on the right. Would be a more solid option defensively than Maddison plus he has a lot of quality in opening up opposition defences
RW Saka - Amazing player who's getting better all the time. Love him❤
LW Foden - Most talented player in the squad. He's so good.
ST Kane - No competition at all, he's so far ahead of every other England striker
No one asked you.
What is a DL/DR lmao. Just call it LB/RB

No way Pickford and Maguire are staying when we could putting tomori and ramsdale on
Pep not playing Philips at all in the 3 games Rodri was out ultimatly tells you all you need to know about him at this point
the only game he didnt play at all was against arsenal. he played the full newcastle game and played about 30 mins against wolves but he was bad in both nonetheless
As much as I don’t lie Phillips he’s still a quality player and deserves to be on the bench over hendo who’s shocking. I wouldn’t start him but start rice and Jude in the defensive midfielders. And put foden in that attacking mid role
@@CB-ms2cqJude is not a defensive midfielder
Play Rice and TAA as the double pivot...
I think most of the team picks itself tbh. Pickford (For now), Walker, Stones, Shaw, Rice, Bellingham, Saka and Kane are automatic choices. That's 8/11 already. I'd personally have Trent in the midfield 3 as a deeper-lying 8 dictating play, and LW would be whoever's most in form between Grealish, Rashford and Foden. The only tricky one is choosing Stones' CB partner
Honestly international football should be based on how consistent they are at club level Philips and Maguire shouldn’t be anywhere near the starting 11 and when it comes to experience I’d rather give time to others who are consistently playing for club so they can gain experience over experience that just doesn’t play
How is Ezri Konsa not being talked about over Maguire and the others you mentioned? Its beyond belief.
Both Konsa and Mings (when fit, shame about the serious injury) should have been above Maguire. Southgate ignored both.

One dm is all a decent side needs. Rice is perfect. Jude and maddison as the the no 8's. Of course Southgate will play Hendo or Kalvin instead of Maddison though
Maddison always stinks for England
@douglasdouga-ji3gn that looks to me like more of a Southgate problem than a Maddison problem.
Southgate seems keen on Rice Bellingham and Trent, which I love
@@DjNaste Defend Maddison now. The guy was given a chance last night and absolutely stunk 😂
@@bigted6351 would be happy with that
Pickford - Walker White Stones Shaw - Rice TAA Bellingham - Foden Kane Saka.
Personally think wingers are very interchangeable depending on opposition and tactics. LB will realistically be a matter of whoever's actually fit and White is extremely underrated as a BPD. Jude is England's best 10 and he is proving it at Real, although not the purest like Maddy. TAA is class enough to play CM for England, although WP is also wildly underappreciated because he stayed with Southampton for so long. In any case, England shouldn't need two sixes but an 8 with a pinner or just the legs and in general should be adopting more of a defending on the ball approach. Best league in the world and all that. KP should only be a defensive sub, he'll pull a hamstring in the first sprint with how little he's played.
with current form, you dont think maddison would be perfect in that midfield 3? Or I guess you prefer to play a 4-2-3-1 with bellingham being an AM/SS playing of harry kane does sound very scary.
@@buffcorrellfan738 Making the most out of Jude would be my main priority. Carlo clearly knows what he's doing with him in Madrid and I don't see a reason for England to not revolve their play around Jude when he is that good. Rice Jude Mads I fear puts Jude too deep to have free reign and I don't believe Mads could make up for it. Not that many people on earth would be able to.

TAA RCM JUDE LCM RICE CDM - if they dominate a game Jude gets the licence to go simple
Surely you want Maddison
back 4 with trent inverting to be next to rice bellingham and madison at the top of the midfield...
Madison is class and actually id want him vs big opponents as well as stubborn weaker ones. But he could have a free role in the front of a diamond midfield if saka needs a break or breather
Rice Bellingham Maddison could work I think, we’ve seen that Jude can do a job defensively and madders can also help out if needed
maddison cannot play in that midfield, he will get completely exposed. England aren't winning anything until they fit Trent into the lineup at RB and have midfielders to cover for him. he is a top 3 talent in that squad.
Bellingham has to play the 10. Wasting him otherwise. Play the best players in their best positions
@@mass9504Been saying this for years myself, Trent has the ability to win a game with a single pass (proven tonight albeit it was a friendly against Australia) but he’s one of the most talented and easily the best passer in the squad, it would be ludicrous to not include him wherever possible. But a Jude, Rice and Trent midfield is mouthwatering.
@@mass9504there is 0 reason for you to believe Maddison wouldn't work in that midfield when he plays very well in a worse version of that midfield at Spurs
Pickford; Walker, Tomori, Stones, Shaw; Rice, Foden, Bellingham; Saka, Kane, Rashford. I think this is the most talented team, of players who have had seasons of the highest level. If Rashford's poor form continues, then Grealish - though I fully expect him to regain his standard - 40 goal contributions last year, 30+ in 3 of the last 4. Outside of Kane he contributes the most most often. Colwil for Tomori if he achieves his potential. Grealish, Maddison, Sterling, JWP, Bowen, Watkins, Trippier, Colwil first players to come in if injury/form.
Aside from France, and maybe Portugal.. that's the strongest team in the competition, and anything less than a final (unless eliminated by F or P beforehand) is a failure. Argument England are the favourites.

Southgate made it a point to explain why Rashford & Sancho got omitted from his squads: “don’t play enough games” and “not in-form”.
The same Southgate that selects and plays Maguire, Kalvin Phillips. The same Southgate that ignores Tomori-the guy that won Serie A and took Milan to SFs of CL.
That will be the downfall of this golden generation squad.....Southgate.
The issue is we have only one quality holding 6, and in the event Rice gets injured, Philips is the only other viable 6. He has to come.
Ben White may be able to do it, but he is banned from the squad.
I agree with you, but the wing position for england is the most competitive position while there isnt rlly a stand out option for the second cb for england or the backup CDM. Guehi and Tomori although are better than maguire are not obvious choices and when they play for england they play at the same level or worse than maguire. For some reason Maguire plays rlly rlly well everytime he plays for england, like he hasnt had a bad tournament for them. The partnership of stones and maguire has been there for a long time so england may be worse off trying to replace maguire this late and build chemistry between stones and a new cb.

Bringing in Trent for Maddison i think would be the perfect change for playing the big teams as it would allow us to adopt a 5-2-3 defensive shape in periods when we need to manage the game. No need for Phillips!
Adam always has something to say about Saka, does my head in
The problem England has is Gareth Southgate plays his favourites too much, which leaves too many good players without international tournament experience. Charlie Cresswell who plays for England's U21s looks like a great future prospect for a CB, but he and players like him won't start for England due to a lack of big game experience. For me, he needs to start playing future prospects now alongside his experienced players
Look at Grealish at Villa, one of the best flair players in the league and couldn't get in the squad over Mount
prospects dont adjust well to international football, there are too few games and training sessions together a year to get them up to speed. hence most international teams choose those players who are more experienced and adaptable. that is a key consideration for many of these young players. its not cresswell having a lack of talent, its just international football favours more experienced players
Ward Prowse should be there instead of Kalvin Phillips 100%.
Amazing from corners and free-kicks plus can do all as a midfielder.
wp isn't a dm. dude pls use your brain. please...
Maguire gets in on experience 😂😂Buvey needs a day off😂😂
I really dont get this “tournament experience” nonsense. Only Messi, Di Maria, Paredes, and Tagliafico were the world cup champions that were present in the 2018 wc. Others came around for the 2021 copa america but still. If anything it shows that this should be the tournament to give players like Tomori and Guehi playing time in major tournaments to plant the seeds for a potential triumph in 2026…
For a 6 game tournament, Ideally 4-3-3
Pickford
Walker - Stones - Lewis Dunk (Easily) - Shaw
Bellingham - Rice - Foden
Saka - Kane - Rashford
& 4-2-3-1
Pickford
Walker - Stones - Dunk - Shaw
Bellingham/Phillips - Rice
Maddison
Saka - Kane - Rashford
Of course there are caveats. Rashford if in form easily gets in but in a world were he isn't then it should be Sterling since Sterling has been a proven Goalscorer for England just behind Kane.
Now for Lewis Dunk I look at him in this form, with his experience, it's just a no brainer for a 6 game tournament with his Set-Piece threat and his ball playing ability with his stature he'd easily match the heading ability & robustness that Maguire provides in both boxes which is mostly why Southgate starts Maguire, Lewis Dunk would compliment Stones so well.
Now the 3 in midfield depending on the match with Bellingham's found new goal scoring threat he could be the CAM instead of Maddison depending on the kind of game you expect. At this point in time I'd expect and have to accept that Foden won't get in at midfield so yes Rice, Bellingham and Maddison at this point in time are the favourite 3 in midfield. Maddison definitely feels like a player who could light up a tournament for 6 games but again I don't trust Southgate he's probably rather play Phillips and Rice with Bellingham as the CAM.

I don’t think the second option alongside Rice is very good in Phillips or Henderson tbh. So I honestly wouldn’t mind seeing it trialed with Rice and Trent AA as a pivot behind Bellingham if we’re going to be more defensive.
This season he’s played there inverted when Liverpool have the ball and he can create a lot from deep. He also wouldn’t have to cover RB for England if he played there like he does inverting from RB for Liverpool which I think would only help him. Think it’s one to at least test out 🤷♂️.
I agree! I don’t think Rice, Bell, Maddison works because we don’t have a strong enough defence to play without 2 CDM and I don’t want to see Bellingham playing that deep. Give TAA a go, it could be amazing.
Seems reasonable. Kalvin-phillips will probably make the squad, but I don't think he should be playing unless Rice gets injured.
Buvey’s trolling has reached a whole new level, Maguire must be sponsoring him
No, he's just pragmatic and rates international form over club form.
This is the best team imo. 3223 in possession with Dunk playing as the central CB. Trent Rice double pivot.
Ramsdale

Southgate ignoring Ben white is the biggest mistake he is making.. Let's not forget he can play RB CB and even DM. Also when playing a single pivot it's always Rice but if you want more security it doesn't matter Ward Prowse isn't a DM all he has to do as a second pivot alongside rice is be more defensive than Maddison and he is at least that. I'd like to see Phillips move on from city and play regularly because people have forgotten how good he is but he isn't near England's best starting 11 atm.
In my head my team for the Euros next summer would be this:

England have to be very careful and not believe their own hype, especially against the sleeper teams. Put them away early, ruthlessly and get your key players bubble wrapped for the next big fixtures.

I would honestly play Luke Shaw Maguire Stomes and walker and put stones higher into the midfield in build up like Pep. alfonside Rice, which helps in adding Jude and Maddison
I would play 4-1-2-3 with Ramsdale Shaw Stones Tomori Walker Rice Bellingham Maddison Saka Kane Foden
the only problem for maddison is that jude’s been so good going forward, we won’t play with jude and rice behind maddison cus it limits jude. I honestly think we should start with rice jude and trent in midfield then if it doesn’t work try maddison in an 8 position but when jude does go forward and it’s maddison and rice left it’ll be dodgy
“The tournament experience” how are people meant to get that if they’re not playing

Form does matter, but into that equation England form is a factor, rather than just club form.
That said, I do think it's time for Maguire to be replaced, he's made a couple of mistakes for England recently, lack of game time does catch up with you eventually.
I love Foden but it does sort of make sense him being on the bench seeing that he could come on in a number of positions and change the game
Agree hate to ever see a player of his quality of the bench for England but he would be a nightmare for tired defenders and could change a game, ideal sub given the depth we have up front
The argument you english people have against Tomori is always one game vs Chelsea. He’s the best defender on a 1st place team, put in two perfect UCL games. Pathetic…

Why is Adam trying to perpetuate this idea of Saka being injured by summer? Like he’s got a knock sure but when you talk about Shaw… just god. And no Foden wouldn’t ever take Saka’s position, he’s been nailed on and rightly so
Because he hates Saka. Purely because he plays for Arsenal.
Pickford; Shaw, Stones, Walker, Trippier; Rice, Trent; Rashford, Bellingham, Saka; Kane
Marc Guehi is so far clear of any other English CB except Stones, but people will only admit it when he goes to a bigger team
Adam giving mount a shout 😂😂😂 wonder why that is now all of a sudden.. when he was at Chelsea I didn’t hear any ratings 😂
Rory is having a hard time understanding what Buvey is saying about the Calvin Phillips starting some games.
Rory should just watch the last Arsenal vs Man City game, where Jorginho was a pure defensive mid which gave Rice enough freedom to help on both defensive and attacking sides.
Buvey is saying that against powerhouse teams like France etc, Southgate should set up the team where the defense should have enough cover and sadly the only player with the right profile are either Phillips or Henderson. And it's safe to say Hendo's legs have expired
For me

Buvey is absolutely spot on about Philips. The Pep Guardiola standards should not change the fact that he is the only top quality DEFENSIVE midfielder other than Rice.
He’s not wrong at all. But call me crazy but when we eventually come up against the top sides would it be such a terrible idea for us to go back to having 3 centre backs (with Trent as a wing back) and keep the midfield just with rice and Bellingham with Bellingham as the 10?
What kind of bs is that, I’m a city fan but he’s barely played hence he doesn’t play and there’s no way you said he’s better than rice
@bluesEvanskro yes, that is crazy. England have way too many good attacking players and far too few good center backs to be playing with 3/5 at the back
@@Deathmare235 where did I say he is better than Rice bro can you read?
@@_trvekvlt my bad you just said he’s a top quality dm which is still wrong
Jordan Pickford
Kyle Walker
John Stones
Harry Maguire
Luke Shaw
Declan Rice
Jude Bellingham
James Maddison
Bukayo Saka
Jack Grealish
Harry Kane
Pickford
Walker, Stones, Guehi, Shaw
Trent, Rice, Bellingham
Saka, Kane, Rashford
(If rashford starts passing, can’t take his united greed into international football)
lmaoooo Buvey tryna take shots at America when we completely humbled their entire nation and dominated their “world class” midfield😭😭
I think southgate (a guy who has got us to our highest finishes in decades in both the euros and WC) should get his advice from the tactical geniuses that are Buvey and Rory "Erling Haaland will flop" Jennings.
"Picking the England team is easy... it picks itself" can barely pick a team. Can't even agree on Maguire which everyone has had 3 - 4 years to make a decision upon (I wouldn't pick him, but I'm almost saying one way or the other). These two are absolute muppets.
For me I'd go 433 and have
Pickford
Walker white stones Shaw
Rice madders Bellingham
Saka kane folden
I agree entirely but I think colwill over white, I think the kids the bollocks
And will have a great season kicking on now
@@OssianF1 I'd take him dunno about starting yet but he's definitely one for the future
Damn as a City fan I always back Buvey winding people up and stuff, but damn he had a fookin stinker 💀 he’s the one that said the Arsenal system of rice at the dm and 2 10s in front, then is adamant on needing Phillips because he’s the only natural flat midfielder.
James Tarkowsi should be ahead of Maguire.
team should be:
Kane
Foden Madison Saka
Bellingham Rice
Shaw Tomori Stones Walker
Pickford
Do you see what Bellingham is doing at Madrid this season. Why would you play him in a double pivot
trent in cam spot
Wait Tomori gets dismissed by Rory just cause he had one and game against Chelsea? 😂 he’s playing so well this szn it’s like his 2020-2021 form
Also Buvey just downplaying any league that isn’t the premier league or championship like usual is just so jarring
So we can only pick english players if they play for City, Arsenal, Man U or Chelsea?
14:49 Antony Gorden? Wide Left for sure if still in this form, none are close right now and he won England Tournament and Player of the Tournament last summer so has the experience no other can claim to have…? 14:49
