All a win win for me. I’ve been budgeting £500 a month for my daily spends with the chase account this past half year. The added interest on the current account is nice. I add the cash back to the savings account and watch that build up as a mini emergency find
Just seen the email about this. I give myself £400 normally but transfer a fair bit more into other pots from Halifax via SO. Do you think I will be able to send the £500 then move £100 to to a sub account and still get the cash back? I don't see why not, I can always move the £100 at the end of the month if it's not spent.
@@usefulrandom1855 yes this works, I moved £1k from a Halifax account to the Chase current account and then instantly moved it into my chase savings and it qualified me for the cashback the next month.
My cashback is about to run out in April. Chase sent me an email to remind me of that but didn't mention anything about the cashback being extended. I was tempted to phone them up in April and ask if they could extend it for me.
@andy just found and subscribed to your channel. Quick question (not related to 1% cash back). Do you know where I can find a comparison of cash interest rates for investment platforms? Ie cash sitting in a SIPP or S&S isa waiting to be invested? Thanks
It’s already written up on the blog, though I’m Holding off sharing it as it’s still being rolled out to all customers. becleverwithyourcash.com/investing-offers-and-cashback-deals/
So do you have to pay in £500 each preceding month to get cashback the next month or is it just one payment of £500 that then activates 12 months of cashback?
@@erikamurguihaha same I would like to know if anyone knows this as I only spend around £300 from my chase account each month. Can’t I transfer £500 and take £200 back out? Thanks
I had a chase account when it first opened and because it didn’t have a lot of features I closed it. Over a year later it still won’t let me open a new account because my number is linked to the old one. Is there any workaround to get a chase account back ?
Strange move from chase because they already give 3% on their integrated instant access account. It takes 10 seconds to transfer money from the saver to the current so why would anyone lose out on the extra 2%?!
Great clear video - you do explain better and clearer than anyone else I have to say! quick question if I may- I have 1k sitting on a normal Barclays account ( emergency fund that I dont touch) - am I better off transferring this to my Chase current account to benefit from the 1% interest on my balance or is it best to open a saving account with Chase and leave the money there to get 3%? thank you :)
Put it into a chase savings account, it's still instant access so no worries there and if you did need to spend some of it just move it onto your chase current account to spend using your card.
@@j.smith.8915 Seems like it. As soon as my Chase account received £500 I got that notification and another one saying I qualified for 1% cashback the following month.
@@andywild76 Do they notify you? I set up my account in October so assume they will notify me this coming October for this change in rules..? Otherwise I may forget to transfer the £500.
@@j.smith.8915 Yes I got an email about the terms of continuing the cashback offer. And I think the app notified me too. The expiry of your current cashback offer should be in the app so just set yourself a reminder before it expires.
The success of the developed world is largely based on our use of fossil fuels. To then speak from a place of privilege as a person living in a rich country, where you are happy to benefit from that success, and demonise the industry is so hypocritical and frankly ungrateful. Would you rather all investment in fossil fuels was stopped today? Of course not since we don't have enough alternatives yet, but you want to pretend like anyone investing in it is somehow a bad person. This is simply a luxury belief

Just got the notice - now jumped up to £1500 a month to get cashback
I’d like to see chase implement open source banking
That would be good!!!
Thanks Andy, also getting 5% on supermarket bills for a couple of months with Nationwide, all a plus.

This is great news as it will fit in with the system I have now of putting my spending money into my chase account each payday anyhow.
Had my cash back extended twice now.
chase is conquering uk imagine credit card comming and also business card all other banks will cry
Follow them on instagram. They have announced a credit card is coming.
Love ALL your Videos, Andy. You give us GREAT TIPS !!! Many thanks. 🙏🇬🇧
No complaints here, just glad they’ve essentially extended it for another year!
Got it stacked with curve and nectar to get up to 2.5% cashback
How
How?
How
I tried linking chase to nectar connect, doesn't allow chase, not on the approved bank list.
I love my chase account. Glad I got it early when you fist discussed it
This is all fantastic news! Definitely keeping it as my main account now!
Same I’ve loved using chase as a bank account
Whats everyone's predictions for chase credit card features? Wonder if they'll do a cashback type
What happens after year 2.
Hi, can i deposit £500 to activate the 1% cashback, then withdraw the £500, in effect the same 500 each month ?

But the £500 can come from salary for example? I'm getting my Just Eat money in my Chase account so I guess that qualifies as an outside payment
Make a video comparing HSBC and Halifax , which one is better.
If I get a declined payment for a over the counter sale will that go against me when they start reporting to a Credit Agency ?
When are you going to cover the new chase nutmeg deal? The free £100.

If your new you don't, if your existing, evert month before you need to put 500 in to get the 1% the following month
Every preceding month

Does the money need to stay? Or can i do the transfer at the end of the preceding month an get it out by the 1st?

Does a Revolut top up count as spending?
Do i need to pay the £500 a whole single amount or i can pay every week of that month around £150 to activate it? Ty
I was wondering the same. He wasn’t clear on that. At first, it seemed to be a one off 500, then towards the end, it seemed to be every month.
The only thing stopping me joining is the fact there is no joint account
Yeah I imagine they’ll be working on that for some point

hey, i just set up my dummy account to switch, how long after the first direct can i go to natwest
As soon as you have the debit card
Regarding the natwest 6.17% rate, are you not able to access it with just a select account?
Their 6.17% savings account? Yes. I have done just that 👍🏻 I only have the Select account with them.
@@Richard_Barnes sorry my wording was confusing, so you can access the rate with just the free select account right?

Yep
Thank you for the video, WOuld they give 1 % on mortgage payments too?
Sadly not
If I transfer the 500 in chase can I then take some out again or does it have to stay in
It doesn’t have to stay there - though you’ll need cash to spend for the cashback
Can the £500 be directly paid into the chase account or does it have to go through another bank account?
Another bank
Andy, If I deposited £1.5k into YBS accounts using the Chase Debit Card would it qualify for the 1% cashback?
No
Can you take the £500 straight out again with no penalty
Yep
@@BeCleverWithYourCash So transfer in £500 and then straight back out again…?!
