Dan I am almost 18 so obviously people my age are "hardcore party-ers" and have a bad look at the cops. The thing I don't understand is how they say "f the police" and then when someone merely slaps them they run to the police for abuse. How can they be so hypocritical to not like someone and then turn around when they are scared and need someone ever nothing.
When i first got my R6, my insurance company told me it'd be $230 for liability. Because it's considered a "race bike" and its "dangerous". Went to progressive, $50. So i actually like progressive.
Okay I'll get this straight, cops that do there job and help the community and get killers off the street are cool and are good to have around. BUT when cops go and lie and accuse innocent people of terrible crimes it's personal, when a cop breaks the law and costs someone money, time, and extreme emotional pain it's personal. One year ago I wanted to die and I told my friend, he being worried told the cops, the cops then went and interrogated me and accused me of being a killer and a school bomber and a supporter of Isis (none of which are true) but this left me in a mental hospital for weeks, jail for a few nights and court for months. That's my story I was suicidal and the police made it worse and ruined my life. That's why I hate the stupid cops of my town
Cowboyfromhell COK k829 If you think about it though, and athlete has trained his whole life to be in his or her position. It's fair that they make millions. However, cops do make wayyyyyyyy to little. Potentially risking your life should yield greater profits.
Cops are just there to enforce the rules. If you have a run in with the cops you were definitely doing something wrong. I got pulled over for doing 110 in a 60 in my Jeep. I just told him "yeah I know I was doing 110" and that's why he didn't arrest me, because i was honest and polite. I did get a $450 ticket though.
+Do It With Dan it's funny when I'm doing my videos I find myself picking or rubbing shit off my tank too at stop lights. lol we are tank rubbing at light buddies😆
+Do It With Dan it's funny when I'm doing my videos I find myself picking or rubbing shit off my tank too at stop lights. lol we are tank rubbing at light buddies😆
there's a coast guard academy about 2.5 hours away from me, I'll be attending that school after highscool to become a rescue swimmer/diver. mad respect to law enforcement and to you.
yanno what else sucks 20% of People reading comments and hating on them cuz they have nothing better to do and are indeed interested in the comment if they spend their time on writing a stupid comment like you (yep i just wasted my time there)
You just earned my utmost respect....... My dad is a police officer in Wisconsin and it's a tough job. Even though Wisconsin isn't exactly known for its terrible crime (unless you count some guy stealing $165,000 worth of cheese a terrible crime), he's had some tough times (like sitting on a roof in -40 degree weather because some ass is in a warehouse with a .50 caliber machine gun). He told me this one story of a biker he clocked at 110 in a 65 that he chased down. They biker pulled over as he realized that my dad had caught up to him. My dad ended up giving him a warning for '19 over the speed limit' ONLY because the biker was respectful to him and admitted to driving dangerously. Going back to what you said about them being great guys, I totally agree. I love it when my dad hosts the departments nfl fantasy football draft, the Super Bowl parties, and the dday parties (he and a couple guys go out at 5:30 in the morning in full ww2 fatigues toting a box full of ww2 weapons)
Cops are amazing, yes their is bad cops but most are amazing and just want to help society. They get the blunt and all the hate from people but theyre just doing their jobs to make money.
I've only ever been pulled over once and legitimately not known what I had done. When he stopped me he told me that it was because I didn't have an "L" plate even though I have my full licence. He then checked on his radio to see if I had a full licence and told me I was free to go.
I hear ya on the insurance Dan, my policy is nearly $4000 a year, and that's for an '01 subaru legacy gt and a '97 suzuki bandit 600s. And the kicker is I only have 4 points from an accident that wasn't even my fault, my brakes straight up failed on my old truck on the highway and couldn't stop. Insurance really sucks when you pay the total value of your vehicles every single year to them
This is so true, I've been pulled over five times for speeding(in a car, I don't have a bike yet) and the worst I've ever gotten was one written warning, the rest of the time they let me go with a verbal warning. Every time I tell them honestly how fast I've been going, and treat them with respect.
***** I think it also depends a great deal on where you live, I'm in Vermont where there isn't really much in the way of violent crime at all, the police up here are pretty friendly and approachable because of this.
Yeah a LOT of people dont understand how car insurance works. You can cut off a lot of the plan and get some bone dry basic coverage, or you can have every bell and whistle possible.
Insurance companies seem to be these omniscient entities. A few years ago I accidentally bumped into a car while pulling into a parking space at the grocery store, causing a microscopic, barley visible paint scratch. Thinking nothing of it, I go about my business. A week later I get a letter from the insurance company. My premium went up by $150 a month. In addition to the damages, they also penalized me for "hit and run" since I didn't report it.
Once pulled over for a wheelie, when I stopped officer- "why'd you stop!?" Me- "my wrist cramped up haha" he let me go with a verbal warning didn't even take my info which I didn't even have Class M endorsement yet lmao! Cops are usually cool if you're cool with them or make them laugh.
Just found your channel (courtesy of officer 401) and enjoy the videos. Couple of comments: 6:10 Willies rules! 6:33 They really need to resurface that intersection (and that road in general) - especially on the turn you made 7:17 my neighborhood... I'll have to keep watching and see if I see myself...
When pulled over, don't say anything. They ask you what you did wrong to get you to admit to it. You have no case anymore after you admit guilt to the copper. Say nothing, take your ticket, and immediately hire an attorney. In my experience, either the cop doesn't show, or you only have to pay the fine on the ticket, there are no points put against your license and you do not have to take any driving classes. The attorney I use only costs me about $100-150. It's the best thing anyone can do when they get a traffic citation. DO IT!
I've probably said this before but I think you should get some mirrors that are a little smaller with the same paint theme as the fairings It would look amazing
Cop flashed me going 152km/h in a 100 zone. In Canada (or Alberta at least), 50km/h over the posted limit is an automatic impound and court date. Running it went through my head but I ended up pulling over partially because he was on a motorcycle too. He asked me how fast I was going and I said, "I don't know but I was going pretty quick." He ended up dropping the ticket to 130km/h and gave me extra time to pay cause I told him I was a student going to class when we were talking. Happiest I've ever been to get a $240 ticket. Nice guy too, had a chat about bikes and school.
Hey Dan I'm not a police officer but my dad's friend is one and I asked him what is the best part of his job and he said "The best part of my job is knowing I can make a difference in our community and try my best to keep the community safe as possible" so I have the mad respect for cops.
I've definitely said a lot of bad things about cops over reasons that I got pulled over for (like having to serve probation for a paraphernalia ticket), but I still have a lot of respect for cops and what they rick everyday.
In England at 23 years old, if I was driving that car the insurance would be probably around £5-6000, when I heard you say $200 for THREE bikes I was certain you were going to say a month. Shit over here is so expensive to insure :(
I went to play basket ball with a friend and played two on two with this dude and his little brother-in-law. He was tall, looked like he was in his early twenties, in a drug rug, and it turned out he was also a cop. We had a fun game and we were playing with a soccer ball. It was pretty real, cool dude, had a good game. Cops aren't awful creatures, they're literally people with a job, like you and me
i love and dislike cops depending on what the INDIVIDUAL cop does if he's a good cop i love them, i dislike the ones who brings things to far or use their power to do most what they want. Of course if i meet a cop i'd treat them with respect no matter what
I was a cop on an Arma 3 roleplaying server for a while. GOD DAMN PEOPLE ARE ANNOYING! I couldn't stand to be a cop in real life. "I saw you going 130mph into a semi carying $800,000 worth of oil and sent them flying in to the ocean."-Me "Nope, that wasn't me. I have been sitting in kavala parked for the last 20 minutes."-them "Sir, I just watched you do it with my eyes" "No you didn't you lost sight of me for .3 seconds therefore you are breaking server rules so I want to speak to a superior and an admin you are breaking rules I am recording I am going to-" send them to jail for 45 minutes.
The whole Good Cop/Bad Cop question can be disposed of much more decisively. We need only consider the following: (1) A cop's job is to enforce the laws, all of them; (2) Many of the laws are manifestly unjust, and some are even cruel and wicked; (3) Therefore every cop has agreed to act as an enforcer for laws that are manifestly unjust or even cruel and wicked. There are no good cops. - Robert Higgs
The problem with telling the officer what speed you were going is that he might not have clocked you on his radar. He could have just seen you going faster then other cars and pulled you over hoping you'd tell him. Then he can give you a ticket for speeding because of your admission of guilt even though he had no proof.
+Do It With Dan It went pretty good, got the reckless driving dropped and the ticket was only 300 :] nb considering I could have gone to jail and lost my bike
You should look at Spacep0d's video on how to fight tickets. Not sure how well his advice applies to this particular instance, but it's good stuff to know.
could you imagine it? Flo just shows up at your house with a bottle of mouthwash and a card asking for a Mr. Do it with Dan. you get one or two a year from whatever lady pulls the short straw at the office.
Dan, awesome to hear you repping Humanizing the Badge, if you didn't know Mike The Cop has a UA-cam page now also where he uploads more stuff and even does livestreams!
Dont tell an officer how fast you were going. Just say "I don't know". Telling them is admitting guilt and there is always a possibility that he/she didnt get your speed.
Hey Dan, could you do 10 things you hate about your bike? Fireblade is likely to be my future bike and I'd like to know some of the things you don't notice at first. There is no video like that about CBR1000rr so it may get you some views as eell
Your cop story with u going "110" changed my look on going fast cause I'm 15 and am about to get a bike, in 1 month on my birthday, and now I'm gonna just pull over and say hey I was going 100-120 thank you
Dan ditch the Progressive if you can. I was shopping around for insurance to see how bad it'd be if I got a bike and Geico was the cheapest by far... and that's also including the fact that I can get USAA thanks to my dad being retired Air Force. (USAA is what the Bronco is covered by) On a side note, that overspray on the back of your fairings is seriously killing my OCD.
i love how people always emphasise the danger in being a cop if you look at the stats your more likely to die delivering pizzas than enforcing the law.
Yea I just got my license, still don't have my own car though, but if I do get pulled over I'm just gonna be nice, friendly, and admit to it as long as I know why I was pulled over
I doubt Dan will see this, but does anyone know how to get the discounts he was talking about through progressive? I'm paying about $800 per year for Liability ONLY for my 600 sport bike
i can respect the not enough pay for the work, for those that do it, the pay isnt the thing, it is being able to make a difference, hard to explain, but the times of dealing with shit go away when you see the relief in a persons face when you helped them, or saved a life, makes it all worth it
cops starting salary is something like 3200 a month,as you move up it can get up to 5000 plus a month.dont tell me they don't get paid well, they also get a full benefits package. most average Americans don't have health insurance or dental
It's funny you mention they pay, in CT it's completely different. The higher crime areas get paid way less than the little city I live in that takes 5 minutes to drive through. I never understood that.
My step dad is a cop! I still don't like cops that pull people over for going like 10 over limit rather than the person that is going 30-50 over after he/she pulls over!!!! But over all I love all cops for what they do and put their lives on the line everyday!!!!!!!!
the most recent time I got pulled over, I was going 65 in a 30 and passed a cop at an intersection I turned then realized he was pulling ne over, he didn't have any radar on me but he tries to assume my speed. they don't always have your speed on radar
My friend had gotten pulled over going 10 over and said his speedometer didn't work and the cop believed him and let him off with a warning. (his speedometer works fine)
my buddy just became a cop I've known the dude 13 years or so and it's something he's talked about since the first day I met him. he's one of the coolest guys I know and a complete nut he'll just likes to have fun and act silly
Came from officer401

+Cornelius Helius right lol
+Cornelius Helius why would I make that up? I'm banned from my school for the next 5 years and I just got out of all of the court cases
sorry but cops dont all of a sudden acuse someone of being a member/supporter of isis just because your suicidal. story=lies and bullshit

i respect cops too. been in both sides, good cops and bad. most cops are good. just like most people are good, but there's bad people.

Hey Dan, could you do 10 things you hate about your bike? Fireblade is likely to be my future bike and I'd like to know some of the things you don't notice at first. There is no video like that about CBR1000rr so it may get you some views as eell
Sure thing! :D
Thanks!
My car insurance is like 900$ for a year (yes a year not 6 months) as a fairly new driver on a 2dr 2010 cobalt coupe.
I love cops, I just don't agree with most laws or how they are enforced.
Your cop story with u going "110" changed my look on going fast cause I'm 15 and am about to get a bike, in 1 month on my birthday, and now I'm gonna just pull over and say hey I was going 100-120 thank you
I'm always stupified at how you haven't been arrested yet.
But then again I wonder how I haven't either.
Dan ditch the Progressive if you can. I was shopping around for insurance to see how bad it'd be if I got a bike and Geico was the cheapest by far... and that's also including the fact that I can get USAA thanks to my dad being retired Air Force. (USAA is what the Bronco is covered by)
On a side note, that overspray on the back of your fairings is seriously killing my OCD.
i love how people always emphasise the danger in being a cop if you look at the stats your more likely to die delivering pizzas than enforcing the law.
"i know that guy"..... cop proceeds disobey regular traffic laws.
$200 a year for bike insurance?! I'm paying 135GBP (195USD) a month and it took me a long time to find one that low!
That is for basic coverage tho. Only my Grom is fully covered .
Yea I just got my license, still don't have my own car though, but if I do get pulled over I'm just gonna be nice, friendly, and admit to it as long as I know why I was pulled over
I doubt Dan will see this, but does anyone know how to get the discounts he was talking about through progressive? I'm paying about $800 per year for Liability ONLY for my 600 sport bike
i can respect the not enough pay for the work, for those that do it, the pay isnt the thing, it is being able to make a difference, hard to explain, but the times of dealing with shit go away when you see the relief in a persons face when you helped them, or saved a life, makes it all worth it
Here's a smoking game for ya! Take a bong rip every time Dan says, "Ya know?"
I would have died in editing from inhalation
lmao! hell yeah, im sure anyone would
That Jay & Silent Bob reference.... I caught that.
cops starting salary is something like 3200 a month,as you move up it can get up to 5000 plus a month.dont tell me they don't get paid well, they also get a full benefits package. most average Americans don't have health insurance or dental
I like that he talks about cops all of the vid and you see a cop every 5 minutes
But over all I love all cops for what they do and put their lives on the line everyday!!!!!!!!
very well placed jay and silent bob quote
the most recent time I got pulled over, I was going 65 in a 30 and passed a cop at an intersection I turned then realized he was pulling ne over, he didn't have any radar on me but he tries to assume my speed. they don't always have your speed on radar
My friend had gotten pulled over going 10 over and said his speedometer didn't work and the cop believed him and let him off with a warning. (his speedometer works fine)
sometimes the speedometer excuse is valid my Corvette says I'm doing 70 but my GPS says 78 lol
Nice Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back reference!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love that movie.
It just depends on the type of cop you have to deal with.
my buddy just became a cop I've known the dude 13 years or so and it's something he's talked about since the first day I met him. he's one of the coolest guys I know and a complete nut he'll just likes to have fun and act silly
