    Brilliant color and video/photo composition. Feels like scenes from a fairy tale movie.

    Love your videos. The reflections off the water at Lake of Glass & Sky Pond are amazing. You happen to find and video beautiful parts of nature I never knew existed. Thank you for letting me enjoy your adventures.

      Thank you!! 😊 We were in awe of and impressed with the remarkable views throughout this hike. All the research we did highlighted the need to be prepared for high winds at the Lake of Glass. On this day there was none, and luckily our conditions were literally perfect.

    I almost died there in the early 1990s. I was maybe 21? Myself & 6 friends decided to climb a dangerous boulder field to try & reach what we thought was a cave. My nephew was climbing over a Volkswagen sized slab of rock, when it began to slide towards me with him on it! All he could do was roll off it. All I could do was put my arm out & brace for impact! Miraculously, when it hit my stretched hand, it flipped over me cascading down the mountain! It only sprained my arm!!

    At 4:30 comes the moment of truth.
    Approach abeam rock wall on left, pull up on small foot ledge. Traverse up left, then up right, then pull up. Just did for 6th time 8.10.23 at age 65. 1st time up a decade ago, chatted w lovely 70yo ladies who lunched at Skypond every year.

    We were there a couple of days before you!
    My sister, niece and I hiked 9.8 miles round trip to Lake Hiayha and got completely soaked on the way down. It rained/hailed on us the entire time. We were completely dead after that lol. You guys killed it!

      We started early…stayed at sky pond for about an hour…then got back to the trailhead at about 11:00am. Started raining after we got back to the jeep. 👍 thanks for the comment and enjoy the trails!

    Would there be a lot of ice this time of the year, and if there is would we need special foot wear?

    • @nolanventures473
      @nolanventures473  3 роки тому +2

      Check the trail conditions as they change frequently but - I would assume this time of year yes and yes.

    What brand of ice cleats did you guys have?

    • @nolanventures473
      @nolanventures473  2 роки тому +2

      We got them on Amazon - they are called “EnergeticSky” ice cleats. They were about $25 a pair. We have used them for two years with no issue - and have put them to the test. Or you can spend $70 and get Kahtoolas. But I would go with a less expensive version.
