The A330 is a nice aircraft to travel on as long the airline don’t try to shoehorn another seat across the plane 8 abreast with a 32 inch pitch seat. It rides turbulence well. I have done a number of Mel to Asia on the A330 & they have always been good trips .
Light years ahead of the 787? A little much don’t you think. It may be better suited for some markets but not all. These aircraft channels are becoming a dime a dozen. I support neither Boeing nor Airbus over each other.
The only two advantages of the 787 in terms of pessanger comfort ist the lower cabin altitude and more sturdy flying characteristics of the 787. The A330 reacts to turbulences due to its inferior wingdesign quite sensible. The A330 Neo indeed, even the a330 ceo with rr engines is particulary quiter, even in the back and on top of that it offers wider economy seats due the the relation between cabin width and number of seats abreast. As a passenger i always prefere an airbus over a boeing. the dreamliner is not really quiet in the back. The dreamliners engines are relatively quiet indeed, but the windnoises are are quite loud due to the weightsaving design of the fuselage. In the back it feels like rushing through the sky.
I recently flew on both the 787 and A330 between Miami and LHR. Quite honestly, I really couldn’t tell much difference. I think passengers are more interested in on board service and seat comfort. I have earplugs covered with noise canceling headphones when I travel, so I don’t notice engine noise as much. A former airline employee in the UK/US.
Agree completely with your analysis. Just returned on a 12 hour flight on the A330neo and found the passenger experience phenomenal. Spacious, modern, quiet, and very comfortable with 2 seater sides and 13" monitors on the airline I flew. Looking forward to my next flight on this awesome aircraft.
Have flown with it in a one class configuration. Its really nothing special about this aircraft at all. Not very advanced, not very silent, not possible to pay with credit card on your screen. But it did seat more than 400 passangers in 53 rows. Furtheremore i assume its a lot cheaper than A350 also price/seat. So in this new era with higher interest rates its mabe more economical than a more advaansed, composide based plane like 787 or 350's. Nothing more.
It’s certainly not true than the A330 NEO is more economical fuel wise than the 787 series. A lot of factual errors in this video. You should do a proper Fact Check before posting.

It seems to be referring to the a330-800. It has very modest orders for this version. The orders for the Neo version are more popular with the A330-900 which is a bigger variant.
probably the 777x will be a huge competitor to Airbus.... I love all this big boys... 767, 777, A330 Neo, A350 Neo have all amazing technology and made mode efficient fly long routes...
Order numbers up to 2022 on Wikipedia isn’t very accurate in 2024 now is it? Yes, it’s has far less orders than the 787 but the order total is just over 350. About 140 have been built.
@Tavarish21 FWIW you said A330neos have had 350 orders, I didn't even mention the B787 orders which stands at around 1,900. Obviously, airlines can and probably will cancel some orders but they've still outsold the Neos by a huge margin.
@Tavarish21 So? It's still outselling it and by a wide margin. Airbus did with the A330s what they did with the A320s ie just reengined an old model. Boeing took the bait with the A320s and rushed and cut corners which led them to the debacle with the Maxes. The B787 is a completely different/new animal. It has It's kinks but overall it's a fresh aircraft.
Hindi Naman talaga pilipinas nga Airbus lagi binibili natitirang Boeing ay Yung 777 er. 1. Philippine airlines ordered 9 Airbus A350 1000 2. Cebu pacific ordered 102 Airbus A321 neo
The Boeing 787 is clearly the more superior airline, in terms of efficiency and passenger comfort. Fuel Consumption: - Airbus A330 Neo: 2.3-2.5 liters per 100 km per seat - Boeing 787: 2.1 liters per 100 km per seat (is lighter because of composite materials. Uses no-bleed architecture, which improves engine efficiency, and its engines are also fairly new) Passenger comfort: - due to the composite fuselage, air pressure inside the plane can be pressurised to a much higher value than the Airbus A330 - I don’t know about you, but I love the electronic dimmers The only reasons why airlines are picking the A330 neo over the 787 are: - Cost: the development cost for this aircraft are low, hence the price of the aircraft is also low. Airbus is offering massive discounts on this product - Availability: there is a much longer wait time with the Boeing 787. Therefore, airlines are choosing this. - Fleet commonality: with the smaller A320neos
The fuel consumption figures are a lot more complicated what you're describing. It depends on the flight distance and sitting configuration. The lowest emission at the moment is the A330neo from Cebu Pacific with a 459 single-class seats, with 1.4 kg/100km on medium haul flight. But it's not fair comparing it for example with a standard 2-class configuration. A 787-8 on a long-haul with 2 class configuration will consume more than 5L/100km. Your points appears to be going by the boeing's marketing. Passenger comfort is mostly due to sit configuration. If it is 9 or 10 or 11 abreast, how much knee room you have. The cabin pressure helps, but the difference is marginal. The dimming windows on the 787 are quite annoying. They are so slow to react that I thought mine was broken the first time I flown. It's just a gimmick. The A330neo is an excellent airplane, just as the 787, now that they stopped spontaneously combusting. Direct fuel consumption specially has to be with the same seat numbers and density (think 2 class vs 1 class) and sector size.
There have some recent improvements to the A330Neo that have made this aircraft more attractive to airlines looking to buy into the B787 class. They`ve made the plane lighter, the RR T-7000 engines have been upgraded & interiors have been improved. Because of this we have seen more orders for the type recently the last one being Cathay for 30 & a rumoured one coming from China for 100+. Because of it`s keen price, it`s proven reliability & improved efficiency AB can expect more & more orders for it & as you suggest it`s availability is a huge bonus. Your notion that AB `is offering massive discounts` is nonsense, the development costs were a fraction of those for the B787 so they don`t need to entertain it. Btw, the RR T-7000 is a later engine model than the T-1000 & GEnx on the Dreamliner. Although it`s a bleed-version of T-1000 RR have made a lot of improvements to it to be more efficient & reliable, but these upgrades will be given to T-1000 very soon I believe.
The 787 certainly is the more technologically advanced aircraft. But therefore also a much more expensive one. The A330neo is pretty much the original budget A350 concept that got rejected by the airlines when Airbus suggested it. Hence they had to invest in a real new design which became the actual A350. Which turned out to be a very lucky decision. However Airbus was smart enough not to bury the first concept and offer it as A330neo. The thing is there are many airlines where the 330neo is the commercially all over better deal.
this is a channel dedicated to only Airbus. So at this point just stop talking about bowling and just call yourself airbus fanatic love Airbus person self airbus fanboy
That one whose wing broke off on load test on their wings before the required 150% load? And then blown open during compression test? And then was grounded because one of the links holding the engine broke off, with damage being found on other airplanes? I don't think the word "obsessed" means what you think it means.
