      I've worked with older adults for decades and a lot of people who are 60 and up are active and in great health. People are also living longer and it's becoming common for people to live to their 90s and 100s. In my area, there are a lot of senior centers with programs that offer physical activities, including biking and using a wii for games like bowling, which are quite popular. They say the 70s are the new 60s and so on.

      When I was fifty I worked as a nurse full time with frequent overtime. At 80, I have severe arthritis, and still do housework and help my son and daughter(-in law) with their children so they can have getaways occasionally. I do need help with transportation because I feel after a certain age your reflexes are slower and it is safer for everyone😊 for me not to drive

      This is very true where I live! Even if someone has legal guardianship of the person, it can always be transferred to someone else or to a public guardian (or equivalent). In many countries where it's the culture to care for your aging relatives, it's still not a legal obligation.
      I think it's very selfish to have kids so they have someone to care for them, which many do. It might not even work out that way because they still have the choice. Parents like that usually mistreat their kids and act like they own them, then wonder why they go low or no contact as adults.

    Anybody who is humble, decent, understanding, and a well-wisher for you, will never try to cause any kind of discomfort or inconvenience to you or your family. If someone is pressuring and forcing you to do something which you don't want to, that means they have a lot to gain from that situation. Stand your ground and tell them what is on your mind without any filters, also never ever give reasons to say NO, it just gives them more reasons to pressure you.

  • @little1942

    The moment my MIL addressed me as “young lady”, would be the moment I ended the conversion with, “I don’t respond that kind tone. I am an adult. Not a petulant child in need of reprimand.”
    Edit: my goodness! I’ve had basically this EXACT conversation with my own mother. She got it in her head that life would be “just perfect” if she lived with me! She even had a house all picked out for ME to by that included a mother in law suite. That way, I could take care of her! I was much more forceful with my response but she ignored everything I had to say.

    • @IzzyPR2010
      @IzzyPR2010 Рік тому +18

      Not just young lady, but calling her a brat too. Her whole freaking tone at the beginning was a good reason not to let her in. If she's like that if she's just trying to get in, then imagine how much worse if she actually moved in. All the crap she said when possible children were bought into the picture further confirms keeping her away. At the end she pretty much confessed every reason that they had to stay away from her and she still doesn't have a clue.

      One would think it would be illegal in every single state. Anyone who has doubts about whether a person actually is a lawyer should ask them for their law licence number (or whatever it is called). Each state has a register of lawyers. Presumably this is available to the public (not sure re USA, as I live in Australia). Anyone who balks at proving they are a lawyer is most certainly a fraud. Report them.

    And if you have to "ask" about any misgivings, then there must be some truths to it.

    All Sally’s attorney has to do is contact the Bar Association for their state to inquire if any lawyer by the name of Grace’s “lawyer “ is registered there. If not, then there’s the proof that Grace’s “lawyer”doesn’t exist.
    Bar Association is the entity that licenses lawyers so they can be attorneys. Lawyers are persons who have graduated law school, Attorneys are law school graduates who have passed a Bar Exam and fulfilled other requirements to become licensed attorneys

One they probably cant use her phone. 2 they wouldn't text. 3 they may call but that Probably be to set up a meeting. 4 u can believe ud probably get mail about it. I would respond saying im gonna talk to a lawyer about this n file a police report for this. As it legit seems someone is pretending to be a lawyer and that name could be legit n if it is id contact the name owner n let them know there name is being used. Then sit back n smoke a preroll n laugh knowing no matter what. They tried to sink my ship but set there own on fire lmao

    Grace getting off with a Warning is right. Since all she did was just make a threat via text. All the while, she ends up learning what she did was a crime and that puts the fear of god into her. As she realized that she could have been arrested. Leading to her being scared about what would happen if she were to stalk or try to move in with her son and daughter in law.
    Of course, the idea of her getting arrested and going to Jail would do only one thing. Giving her a place to stay that provides three meals a day. So it's good that she's not given such a luxury. Since it's too good for her to get that sort of treatment.

    If Sally's lawyer had agreed to switch to representing Grace, he would have committed a serious ethical violation of the rules governing lawyers for which he could be suspended or perhaps even disbarred. And even if Sally's house had code violations, it would be a matter for the appropriate government authorities to pursue, not the subject of a civil suit by a private citizen.
