In this Session, Vinod Iyer (Call sign: @kibanaman) spills the beans on how to leverage the Elastic Stack itself to observe Elasticsearch clusters of any use-case, scale, or architecture.
The basic idea is "Chasing Cats!". You know, the =^.^= APIs which basically have all that anyone needs to know about Elasticsearch at a cluster level.
Ingest is done using Logstash, and Kibana goodness ensures that the visual analytics is at par with the Monitoring App in the Gold/Platinum licenses, which is a big need for any company planning to observe multiple Elasticsearch clusters in a single pane of glass.
P.S. The biggest Elasticsearch cluster for which Vinod Iyer has implemented this solution has ~150 data nodes and the use-case is search.
    Tech Stack Details:
    Ingest: Logstash
    Search/Store: Elasticsearch
    Visual Analytics: Kibana
