Thanks for the video, dude! I pre-ordered mine and just got it in the mail today! I've been watching demo videos obsessively as I waited for it to arrive. I appreciate you giving me something to listen to, now I'm off to try it myself. Keep on killing it!
Pedal sounds great. Brilliant demo as always - just realized what I dig about your videos Sasha : the demos are so musical / not just noodling. Keep up the great work - yours is a voice I trust. Oh and my BP1 just arrived today so I can't wait to play with it tonight...
You are SUCH a great player, man! The pedal sounds very good, one more Boss product to prove they don't lack anything in comparison with the boutique makers.
Exactly!! They were the ones that were at the start of compact pedals and pedalboards. Somehow guitarists wanted something else for a long time. And tbh Boss was lagging innovation they started doing the Waza and Katana and GT stuff. And I absolutely love the direction they’re going in now. Staying true to their form factor which is brilliant and indestructible while giving it fantastic sounding circuits.
@@SashaIvantic Exactly what I'm thinking. Establishing the Waza Craft line was such a perfect move. Really impressed by the whole line, and this one is no exception. It really does sound fantastic.
Exactly. I was buying boutique pedals hard for a few years. Once I bought the Waza versions of SD1 and BD2, I realized they were as good as anything I own.
I love your demos. I can’t decide if I like the gear better, or just the playing. The guitar on the intro is really beautiful. And this is the first demo I’ve heard of this pedal where the difference between the settings are so clear.
I got the CTC Unobtanium pedal because of your superb review. Now because of you again, I have/need to get this pedal. Thank you for your time and effort yet again superb review.
Great pedal, the Boss BP-1W. The booster/preamp sounds a little bit like a Boss BD-2 bluesdriver with less gain on the RE setting. Nice clean sound and also nice with a OD-pedal. Nice Booster/Preamp pedal. Both guitars are beautyfull. Nice video.
Doesn’t sound like it (maybe a tad on the CE side, adds bass on the RE, flat on the natural.) You may want to look elsewhere for bass shelving - something with an EQ - oh the revv tilt might be spot on! This pedal does have the vintage mode but that might not offer the level of control you’d be looking for with ze bass.
I actually pair this now with a BD-2W on the board I use for these demos and it’s a killer combo. I’m ashamed to say I have no experience with the SD-1(w).
@@RC-wi3lfIt’ll be great with both! The question is more what works for you. I’ve had a lot of fun using a SD1W to boost a BD2W, in fact I find the pairing hard to beat to the point that I’ve very little interest in boutique OD’s. But sometimes it’s fun to drive even further and used all sorts of devices for that, from fuzzes to clean boost. Annoyingly I can see uses for all three, so probably will add one of these to my Cole toon at some point as it’s a bit more interesting than most boosts.
Great tones! Your playing is SPOT ON! Wondering, How do you record? Guitar > pedalfx > amp (Silktone?) > boss waza tube and then straight into interface? Greetings!
Thanks a lot! That’s correct! I run a light compressor plugin as well to match the transients of the guitar track to the voice track. No eq tho. What I’m hearing is what you’re hearing.
Oh man you should hear the reverb I have on outside of these videos. This is light for me. I feel confident there should be plenty of other free content on UA-cam with a reverb setting matching your taste. Thanks for watching tho
I can hear the original tone just fine, and I’m also someone who dislikes when people mix too many effects of a gear demo. It’s not like an intrusive shimmer reverb or something, just a natural room sound reverb.
Beautiful playing as always, really is an amazing pedal too! Love that CE mode, makes everything sound just that little bit better
Sasha, that opening solo was stunning! The tone was great and your feel was sublime. Just brilliant!
Thanks a ton, Clive!

Great video man! Your tone is on point . Boss is killing it lately
Best demo of this pedal I have seen! Put one on my board 2 weeks ago. Play singles and P90s. Exactly what I needed to help get it dialed-in.

Beautiful tome and beautiful Strat! Ordered my BP-1W from Sweetwater today. :)
Such a sweet bunch of tones!
And amazing playing Sasha !
Awsome pedal, cracking demo, I need one! Well done and well done Boss yet again. Thank you.
Your demos are where i get my pedal "news" from. Look forward to checking out this new BOSS. Thank you for all the work you do

I did a google search for Boss BP-1W and I knew it was you from the thumbnail, I recognized your shirt. 😎🤘
Great job. Great sounds. Nice shirt. Really cool guitars. Great playing. Nice job.
Awesome intro solo... I liked how you demoed it. Just might have to get this soon...👍

Mine is coming today. I cant wait to pair it with the FZ-1W I scored last week for a steal
Wonderful review and playing. After watching your review, I recently bought the Boss Waza Fuzz. What a great pedal that is! Thanks for sharing.
Great Demo!

I am so getting one of these. Not only am I trying to collect every Boss compact pedal made, but this thing sounds sick, as well.
me too....
Would love to hear this after the FZ-1W to push the amp a bit more. Seems like a perfect match to me.
I tried mine with my Roland JC just out of curiosity and it sounds amazing. Turned up gain sounds like Beatles overdrive.
Nice video man many thanks! :)
just bought one. killer pedal
Playin some of that good good guitar! 🔥🤟
I would really love to know the brand and model of the archtop featured at the beginning of the review.
Really great video, great playing. BTW, what’s the hollow-body guitar you used at the beginning of this video?
Does it shelve any bass? I can’t stand pummeling my amp with more bass and muddying the sound.

What's up? How do you see this as an always on pedal? And curious where you have it in your chain where you use it.
Gets that Allman Brothers tone! 9:15
I have a lot of drive pedals, but no boost pedal. This one sounds great…
Sounds great as always! Do you think this would pair better with a BD-2W or SD-1W?
I actually pair this now with a BD-2W on the board I use for these demos and it’s a killer combo. I’m ashamed to say I have no experience with the SD-1(w).
I think we each have an excuse to buy a new pedal now then!

Incidentally, what's the Strat you're playing is it a Vintage 2 '61? - it sounds lovely!
It’s a cs 59 hardtail with radioshop pickups

What's on your pedalboard for this dude? (Apart from the BP-1W)

Because of the strong reverb, you can't hear the original tone.

No thanks. My Digitech Bad Monkey is still the best OD ever made. Just sayin
Indeed. Josh from JHS had a comparison between an original Klon Centaur and the Digitech Bad Monkey and was able to make them sound identical.
To much clipping in this recording. Great playing and sounds, though.
That’s the point of a booster. It clips your signal.
@@SashaIvantic Sounds like your soundcard clips the input.
It’s not :)
@@SashaIvantic Around eight min farward, digital clipping. We all make mistakes. Your limiter in post could be the culprit.
