Great set of videos! I'm still in training and these videos help. How long do you estimate it takes the average person to drive to the standard you are showing?
I’m glad you find the videos help. Most new drivers I speak with tell me they feel it takes about 6 months before they feel comfortable, but don’t feel confident until about a year or two of driving. So it does take a while. As with everything, some people do pick it up quicker than others. Hopefully you’re one of these people. I’m hoping to make more videos soon.
Thanks. The probationary period is 6 months but I’ve seen people washed out because they may not be up to a minimum safety standard even before they head out on their own!
@@roysyntageros4191 I think it might depend on the trainers. I got dropped by one company that effectively expected you to get competent in 5 days. I’ve now been with another doing basic competency for a good two weeks. I’m getting there I think, at least, I know what I need to get good at if you see what I mean.
I usually began turning when the rear wheel is in line with the end of the island or median strip. I don’t wait until the rear wheels are past the island, as this usually places me deeper into the intersection than necessary. Which makes it difficult in narrow streets. Often you can start turning very slowly just before the end of the island to smooth out the turn. Hope this helps, and good luck.
These are super helpful mate thank you
Glad you they're of help to you.
Thank you for this.
My pleasure!

Do you turn when the wheel is in line with the end of the median strip or past the median strip? Thanks
