- "Service Power Steering System" message and code C0460 in the PSCM. Initial diagnosis points to a failed PSCM but I'm not totally convinced yet.

Watched this video and replaced my pscm to no avail. Afterwards I contacted gm hybird team and was advised to replace the steering rack and that solved the problem
If you had watched the entire series you would have seen that the PSCM was not the problem. The assist motor on the steering rack fails. The shaft breaks off inside.

On Monday I'm going to scope a known good one to compare. Preliminary diagnosis points to a failed PSCM but I'd like to be sure if possible. You know how reliable ohm meter testing is.

On ohm testing I always tell people cut all but one strand on a pair of jumper cables, it will ohm out ok, but try and start the vehicle with them!
Phillip Bailey thanks for your videos bro.can you help me or have any idea I have a 2009 Cadillac hybrid and when it rains only when it rains show me a message that it’s say engine reduce and it wouldn’t start until I disconnect the battery and wait for 5 min or so then same thing happen again I did the same thing in order to make it to my house. I live in Mexico and there in not much info about this now is summer time so I hadn’t have that problem but I have my check engine light on any idea thank you bro and greetings from Mexico 🙏
Sorry i just saw your question... since the problem seems moisture related you will need to do a network scan of all controllers when the problem is present to see what codes its setting in which module/s. Unfortunately you will need a good scan tool like an up to date snapon or autel to do this. Make sure the fuse panel cover under tge hood is installed correctly, pull some fuses and relays out with the key off and look for evidence of corrosion. I would not expect that to be a problem in Mexico but you never know. So other than a long service call im out of ideas... good luck.
My engine light comes on and all of the service alerts will come across the dash. I took my truck to Cadillac one time and they tightened something up and it was good for about 4 years. Now it’s doing the same thing again. It’s something electrical dealing with the ground wire I believe
That's possible but without scanning it and retrieving codes it's hard to say. Need to start with a network scan of all controllers and go from there.
@@PhillipBailey I got it scanned. The code read for the charging system. But I know this issue is related to the ground wire.

@@ViktorVaughn86 you need a complete network scan of all controllers not just the PCM. I doubt Auto zone will do that...

What was the fix
Replaced the power steering assist motor on the right side of the steering gear. The output shaft breaks off on the motor...
