In Suriname we are some big communities of marroons and 2 of these communities most are okanni Kromanti descendants. and we still sing some similar singing and drum rythm dances that we call aleke and awassa. And some family still have ghanean family name like :Bena, Abena, kudjo, koffi, Bron, abron, kwaku etc
Wow!...I feel something very strong when ever I meet a black person, and he/she tells me that she's not from Africa. I feel that a whole part of me is missing😢😢😢
Am I the only one who get's over joyed in my heart whenever I hear traditional Ashanti music? Once Ashanti always Ashanti - even over the Atlantic. #100%Ashanti.
I'm half ghanaian. My father Is from ghana. As always, I'm blessed to be a Ghanaian. I don't speak the Twi language, but i love listening to the native tongues. I love the traditional dances!! Seeing videos like this just bring me closer to my culture. I'm 21 and ive never been to Ghana. Even though im kind of shy, I hope to travel there one day and learn some moves!
Thank you for much for this very precious video of culture, it is so appreciated by one such as myself being a descendant of those who was snatched from the Akanfo via the trans atlantic slave trade may our Nananom Nsamanfo look upon you with blessings.
