Voile’s video (rebranded Pomoca) recommends NOT using “skin savers” for long term storage because of chemistry issues. They recommend glue-to-glue storage. Maybe that advice is specific to Voile-Pomoca skins, but I have to wonder if increased air exposure from the mesh accelerates glue oxidation and hardening?
G3 recommends NOT applying skins to boards in a warm environment. G3 says it worsens skin performance through the day due to water trapping… but we all do it. I have no direct opinion.
Thanks for your great tips. This may be the best skin handling video on UA-cam.

Do you typically mark the left and right skin or is it obvious enough that you can quickly identify the proper skin for each half of the board.

Hey there thanks for this tutorial, very helpful. I’d have a question about the size of these G3 Skins you use, I’ve got a 2022 Jones Solution 161 so I’m kind in the middle of their S/M (ranging from 144 to 162) and the M/L (fitting 154 to 172 boards). Which size should I pick?

I typically go for the smallest size I can fit on a board to save weight and to reduce friction when sliding the ski uphill. That said the bigger skin will have just a bit more surface area which could help if you're worried about your skinning technique or you're new to skinning.

Just the cheap BD ones that I modified by cutting 3/4 of the handle off and replacing it with cycling bar tape.
