That "modern structure" -- is that an office or a residential or a hospital building? That center canyon is really weird, because the units/rooms/windows to the left and right have zero view or sunshine but a view of the opposite wing.
The tunnel is an engineering masterpiece. This city is lucky enough to have 3 of them under the Mersey plus the awesome, elegant Mersey Gateway Bridge, upstream. Thanks for sharing
And they used building material for the walls that colorfully reflect the car lights and makes you think at every turn "Oh, here is the end of the tunnel" -- but it ain't.
Liverpool's port populated many Countries through Passenger shipping in the 19th century as it was called " The Gateway to the New World.". 🌎 38:34 Redbrick & Cream building on the right is The White Star building , where the Titanic & many other famous ships were registered .... Love Liverpool and the docks area for photography. It's about an hour and a half away from me by train but I always try to visit at least a couple of times a year.
I like that Church House building at 17:00. I love cities like this, where so many older buildings remain. When there's too much modern architecture, it seems so cold, takes the heart out of cities.
While they definitely have some good old architecture, there's also a lot of really crappy modern architecture in places where there shouldn't be. It's a shame because the buildings don't look good together, otherwise I'd be fine with it.
My city of Liverpool has so many beautiful buildings.. you're very lucky you got through some of those roads so quickly, alot of the time it's backed up and jammed especially down The Strand.. reminds me some places I haven't visited for a while so I may just go ahead and do that now as you've given me a little incentive. Thank you for posting this wonderful drive around video ❤️
No, it's a very lively city that's had more than its fair share of troubles. Two huge football teams with passionate supporters and a long and vibrant music scene add to the fun. The people are funny and warm but toughas well. You need at least a weekend to see some of the main attractions.
Too bad it was overcast, but hard to prevent that in England, same here with Norway's western coast - we get very similar weather. English cities look really great in sunny weather though.=)
Cloudy weather is wonderful. In my city, Salvador BA, Brazil, the sky is sunny and vibrant blue most of the year, but I prefer rainy and cloudy weather. The heat on a beach day is good, on normal days not so much. Of course I'm not comparing, England and Norway are much colder than here.
Great ride around "scouseland." Pity you turned right instead of left at Lime Street station and missed St Georges Hall, the magnificent neoclassical edifice which has featured in a number of Hollywood movies doubling for New York City
Interesting I've not driven in Liverpool in my car for years, I tend to use a bus or train, I only drive rarely in a works van and it's an absolute pain on the Albert dock road. Nice to see it from a different perspective without driving..
Lucky you got down The Strand so quickly, since the millions have been spent on supposed improvements its usually like a car park, council removed lanes to put in wide pavements, illuminated trees and cycle tracks that cause ques every day, great vid.
What on earth were you doing driving round here?!? I was watching your exotic video of driving round Los Angeles and here you are filming just ten miles from where I live!!! How bizarre to me! But a great video to me nonetheless!
bro that tunnel is sick. I live in Manchester, we have a fucking flyover called Mancunian Way, literally all cars going at 60mph, slips roads where you have to stop at a standstill and when you enter, build up your fucking speed as quick as humanely possible before someone smashes the back of your car at 60mph. And one of the slip roads has an exit right next to it, literally 100m away. It's a joke.

There’s a train system in the city and surrounding areas which is pretty useful, every 20 minutes right now (due to COVID) but it’s normally every 15 minutes
I just don't get why people in India rant the streets of Mumbai for having worn out lane markings when it's kinda the same case in the UK at some places like here in Liverpool. People make it seem like it's a big deal when it actually isn't.
As a Brit I am often impressed at just how many trees other countries have in their cities. We have so few here other than in gardens or parks. Very few tree lined roads and I don’t know why.
This is the central area of a port city. The part you’re seeing is built on water. Further into the city there’s plenty of trees, one of the oldest trees in Europe is housed in one of Liverpool’s many parks.
@@Jessica-dd8xo well idk if it's a problem if it's built on water. Cities like Mumbai have been completely built on water but they have a whole conserved wildlife park at the centre of the city!

This is awesome. So much is the same as when I was there in 1982 to pick up my car from the states (stationed in East Anglia).
