I'm still loving this series, Jonny. This is such a therapeutic process. Working with a great bunch of professionals is good for the soul, great for mental health, and I can't wait to see the 2CV in person in 2025! Very best wishes for a happy and healthy New Year! 😊
Loving this patina kept early 2CV. Makes such a refreshing change to see with all those show queens of all types more commonly restored from barn finds.
Love this genuine content and the intimate connection you are building with the 2cV Js. Keep up the fabulous content it's truly inspiring and the camaraderie you are exposing is so truly valuable
Thank you. Yeah, it's been a really enjoyable car to piece back together. The 2cv community are ones who ooze passion and know the importance of owning a car that is fun.
Great stuff as always, Jonny. It's great to see it coming together and those guys are so knowledgeable, as well as being fun to work with, it seems! Looking forward to the final part (remember to say part 5 next time, not part 4)... Cheers guys.
I have to admit I’ve never had the love for the 2cv, BUT I’ve got respect it for what it is and what it did for moving the masses. As a piece of pure utility, it’s quite excellent. I do however love this project and not just for the ‘algal’rithm. The patina really does make it. Like all your projects, it’s one of be proud to own. Top work and what an awesome bunch of guys working on it too.
This was truly enjoyable to watch. It's a simple car, but the restoration is somewhat complex and yet it's all completely logical (brightwork strip etc) 👍
I love this series, the journey from a car that could have been so close to it end is now over the hump looking at a new beginning. I look forward to the next part of the series.
Can't get enough of this; watching in parallel with the 2cv Shop vids. Have had a 2cv itch - still unscratched since the 70's, but think I'm now in love with Dyane.
This build is the best part of this channel for me. I enjoy the other stuff also but would like more like this. The allegro although slow is a great build. But more like these would be cool Jonny
Your favourite part of the channel? Really interesting to hear that. The views are typically lower, but engagement is higher. Besides, Jonny likes to bring variety to the party.
great installment - loving the series, i was never a fan of them but appreciate the process and also saving another classic will always be a worthy cause! Top banana
Love this build, and the patina that's been kept on the bodywork. Regarding the sleeper Allegro - looking forward to the next installment with the same levels of anticipation that I have for project Binky 🤣🤣🤣
I would love to own a 2CV again, but they are dear as poison in AUS these days. I really enjoy the videos. I can't help myself and think you are just there for the entertainment :)
Love the simple design of the 2CV. I was wondering how the chassis forward of the firewall could be so lightweight a structure (see for instance at 14:58). Then I realized that the leading arm suspension and side spring design moves the suspension support point aft of the forward frame to a location at the base of the main body frame arch - a brilliant design. Similarly, the trailing arm design at the back unloads the rear frame portion of the vehicle's weight.
You are a true car man and a true trooper in making this world a better place ✅ Good man thanks for all the time and effort you and your team put in to making these videos 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆▶️🌟💪
Great vid again JS..oddly I was really chuffed you managed to get it through the MoT with the weathered stick on rear Reg numbers. CMTMB. Pig Hut Nick.
Lovely car and lovely series. I'm so glad you're keeping the look of the car. I restore 2cvs for a living, but personally much prefer them "dans son jus".
Great video ❤ I really enjoy your videos like this more than car caves! love your barn finds also! I like the fact you have so much variation keep up the content!
Seeing all those parts is making me nostalgic for mine! 2CV6 Speciale SPORT, in white with Black Roo-Bars, tearing around Hampshire in the 90s. Good times, shame I snapped the front Chassis Leg and was too skint and foolish to replace it.
Thanks for the great video my buddy had a 2cv about 30 years ago it was a blast he sold it and bought a Citron SM man that was insanely cool but he passed away and his wife wanted the car I wanted it but you know kind of everything I'll keep watching thanks great video the weirdest car I ever owned was a Lloyd Alexander I was pretty young parts are not available in the US but I got it going it was crazy cool
Since a 2CV4 (smallblock) was my first car, I pay much attention to this show. I added a self-constructed methanol injection to outrun the 1300cc 44hp beetles of my school friends (yes, it worked). The TÜV (you would call it MOT) was not so sure about that ("What the hell is this??"). End of the Duck (as we call the 2CV in Germany). But this was in 1982.
Still not a fan of 2CVs (unless we're dropping them from 500ft), but enjoying following this process, as always. It is JonnyVision, after all! 😃 CMTMB.
Thought l give you another abandoned 2CV,an early one with the corrugated bonnet. Its near the Birmingham University / Queen Elizabeth ll hospital, its reg is BPK 606.
Just wondering what you did for soundproofing? I have a 2cv and a Dyane and have used Dynamat or similar for both, with pads and mats on the forward floor and bulkhead and door panels. Works well, but would like to go further if possible and looking for ideas.
With the headlamp switch the V is for Ville (town) and R is for Rural (countryside). In V you have side/tail lights in one position, and dip/side/tail in the second position. In R you have dip/side/tail, and main beam/side/tail. The light switch originated on the pre-war Traction Avant and remained in production, fitted to the 2CV, right up to the end of 2CV production in 1990. And it's true that it's the Law that 2CVs must be fitted with yellow headlamp bulbs. I've never fitted anything else than yellow in my car. 😁
Jonny, are you gonna get a Princess, a Maxi, and a PT Cruiser to add to your fleet? Then you'll have all 6 of my most hated cars ever (adding to the 2CV, old Beetle, and Allegro). 🤣😂😁
Looking great! That's going to be so much fun to potter about in. The protect the patina and prevent further rust, could you use something like Jenolite?
I love Citroëns and also the 2CV. I am just not sure about retaining the old Patina look. The kind of effort to restore it deserves a proper paint job. My 2 cents, Jonny!

Came here to say what they said. Love this series
Nothing says 'lightweight car' like moving a single post lift around the workshop with the car still on it!
Love the project, it reminds me of my time working for Citroen in the eighties and nineties.
Very much looking forward to the next episode.
Great stuff as always, Jonny. It's great to see it coming together and those guys are so knowledgeable, as well as being fun to work with, it seems! Looking forward to the final part (remember to say part 5 next time, not part 4)... Cheers guys.
I just love 2CV's - such a engineering masterpiece.
Can't wait for the next one! I hope it passed the MoT with hand-painted number-plates, one of my favourite features.
Lovely to see you preserving the history of this particular car as much as possible.
I have to admit I’ve never had the love for the 2cv, BUT I’ve got respect it for what it is and what it did for moving the masses. As a piece of pure utility, it’s quite excellent.

Great to see the Citroen coming back together!
I’d love to have a little project like that. It’s only a big jigsaw really. Thoroughly enjoyable video.
Great cakes too 🎂
I love this series, the journey from a car that could have been so close to it end is now over the hump looking at a new beginning. I look forward to the next part of the series.
This has been such an enjoyable series! The car looks amazing. The contrast between the old and new is really cool.
I love this car...ive always wanted a mechanically perfect patina 2cv....but this one is an absolute beauty ❤
Can't get enough of this; watching in parallel with the 2cv Shop vids. Have had a 2cv itch - still unscratched since the 70's, but think I'm now in love with Dyane.
Do it! Glad you have enjoyed the vids.
FOR THE ALGORITHM!!! 🤣
Loving this series, can't wait to see it finished 👍
Thanks for the update Jonny. Love this project 😍 Great bunch of guys. You need to age the new wheels and indicators. Is the cap LBS merch ?
What an absolutely lovely way to spend 25mins on a Sunday evening ☺️thankyou Johnny .. beautiful little car ❤👍
Glad you enjoyed it. Have you watched the previous episodes? Thank you
This build is the best part of this channel for me.
I enjoy the other stuff also but would like more like this.
The allegro although slow is a great build.

LED’s ha! It’s a restomod 😆 love it 😊
I recently visited a fantastic Citroen museum in Holland. The collection of 2cv’s is incredible!
great installment - loving the series, i was never a fan of them but appreciate the process and also saving another classic will always be a worthy cause! Top banana
For the algorithm!
Grand job! This is a great series; looking forward to seeing the MOT bits.
Thank you very much, that's really kind.
Love this build, and the patina that's been kept on the bodywork. Regarding the sleeper Allegro - looking forward to the next installment with the same levels of anticipation that I have for project Binky 🤣🤣🤣

Loving every minute of this series! 🚗

Fabulous, love it. Just needs those "Le Fuchs" wheel trims mate.
I know the ones 😘
Love the restoration videos, looking forward to the next Smart car installment.
Wonderful idea to keep the bodywork as is. Can't wait for the next video!
Sweet update Jonny! Glad to see it running!
Lovely video ! That has made my Sunday evening ! Thank you 🙏
My pleasure 😊
That was thoroughly enjoyable. Can’t wait to get back to my Deux Chevaux in a few months.
Great to see the 2CV up and running looking forward to the next episode.
Really enjoying this series Jonny.
I for one love this car I’d have a silly big grin on my face driving around in this . Well done Team xxx

Variety is key. Thanks for appreciating 😁

Very much enjoying this build!
Cool stuff. Would love to see some more of the Insight.
Big Insight update coming soon. It's in the edit now.
@@TheLateBrakeShow Lovely!
Hey Jonny, that broken fitting on the wiper motor spring could be modeled and printed very easily on a 3D printer. You must know someone who has one.
Piece of plastic/nylon/etc and a needle file and make a new clip in a few minutes.
Such a superbly designed vehicle, a masterclass in economics and a hoot to drive as well.
Love this build Jonny, another classic saved 👌
The new chrome with the old patina is really a nice look!
🙏🏽
Another great epiode Jonny, thanks. Loving your work. :)

But this was in 1982.
That lift is so handy.
coming along nicely!
In a world of EV blandness it’s great to see a classic like this being brought back to life, well done!
It's coming along nicely, should be all ready for summer, whichever week that'll arrive in... :P
Those indicators are ridiculously satisfying
Jonny you should get Tom Ford involved, you two together would definitely bring this to life in surprising way 😂😂😂
Great video series 👍
Don’t forget the blinker fluid 😊
I love that tin can journey. Keep them coming those episodes.
I love the stock wheels without the chrome caps. Just bear wheels with nice wheel nuts.
18:38 My Renault 16 had that bulb rotation feature - the only car I've ever owned that did.
Still not a fan of 2CVs (unless we're dropping them from 500ft), but enjoying following this process, as always. It is JonnyVision, after all! 😃
CMTMB.
You're v kind. Thank you.
I used indicator lights off a Honda Gold Wing on the back of my Light 15, worked a treat!
Loving this series. Simple really is best!
Thank you!
Algorithmic comment added. You're welcome. Love this project.
Thought l give you another abandoned 2CV,an early one with the corrugated bonnet.
Its near the Birmingham University / Queen Elizabeth ll hospital, its reg is BPK 606.
Great to see the progress. You'll have so much trouble decided which car goes to what show. I'll have two soon and that will be hard enough 🤔⚡️💯
Tw@ina, perhaps? Love this lovely old chunk of tin.
These vids have made me really love a 2cv
Great to hear! There are so many cars you probably need to try before you die...
As you say, it's the journey too and I'm loving this one. 'Clock in a care home'! 😂
Love it absolutely love it.
Jonny mate Great video, such a simple car, there’s something about the CV , quality car , not everyone cup of tea but I like em.
Awesome - love the project cars :D
Cheers Dude, I appreciate the content.
🙏🏽
Excellent 👌👍
To save the patina use boiled linseed oil! It will last a while but you will need to reapply a few times a year.
We have used some tried potions from Essex called Bilt Hamber
Possibly my favourite car in your fleet !
It looks great.
Fantastic ❤
Lovely stuff
Good video 👍👍👍
Brilliant 😊
Just wondering what you did for soundproofing? I have a 2cv and a Dyane and have used Dynamat or similar for both, with pads and mats on the forward floor and bulkhead and door panels. Works well, but would like to go further if possible and looking for ideas.
Hi Ed!

Thanks for the translation and extra details.
It's a really nice design
There's a blue Purosangue on another channel but I love this rebuild so much more!
Puro-WANG
Great to meet you at the cafe when you were filming this episode, it’s been worth the wait, the cyclists.
Ha, wife’s account 😅
Jonny, are you gonna get a Princess, a Maxi, and a PT Cruiser to add to your fleet? Then you'll have all 6 of my most hated cars ever (adding to the 2CV, old Beetle, and Allegro). 🤣😂😁
Perhaps. Never say never. Beats a mass produced modern SuperCar on finance.
Looking great! That's going to be so much fun to potter about in. The protect the patina and prevent further rust, could you use something like Jenolite?
Final episode reveals all
@@TheLateBrakeShow looking forward to it 😊
It’s excellent. Do you have to oil the panels or something to pause the rust as is…..?
The last episode will show what we did to the paint
Ur UA-cam channel is far superior than that 5th. gear nonsense, well done you.
Wow, thanks
Jonny always sounds like a cross between Louis Theroux and Kevin McLeod from grand designs. Hands down the moat relaxing voice on car UA-cam
Jonny's presenting heroes. Thanks!
This project has been fascinating and looking forward to seeing it all it's patina
Will you take it ice racing?
I love Citroëns and also the 2CV. I am just not sure about retaining the old Patina look. The kind of effort to restore it deserves a proper paint job. My 2 cents, Jonny!
I could easily 3D print that plastic clip for the windscreen motor if I had a drawing of the original...
I’m still laughing about the care home clock 🤣
Love it Jonny
Paintwork by Cronos the best look .
How resilient to the weather will those rusty panels be? I suppose it will lead a fairly charmed life in your ownership
Wait til the last episode (the next one) to see what we use on the panels to protect them.
lovely vid as always, commenting for the algorithm. cheersmatethanksmatebye
