Just imagine if Kansas played like this in those one score losses at the beginning of the season. I am an ASU fan I had Kansas being the favorite, now they are playing like it
@John Kurtz, just so you know, SMU played TCU the next week after BYU debacle and clobbered TCU. Also the ACC has a winning record against Big12 and BiG10 in non conference games this year and great record against top G6 schools. So you can’t say the Big12 is deeper and better and stronger than the ACC this season. Not even close.
Big 12 is far better overall according to any objective rankings. Sagarin computer rankings have them slightly edging out the Big 10 as the second best conference in the country.
As an Arizona state fan, I have always heard we’re the number 1 party school in the country. NOWHERE are we ranked number 1 any more. We don’t even crack the top 25 in most lists. However, I do apologize for the fans. Most fans in the upper deck were shaking hands and being good sports about the win.
Remember when B12 expanded with BYU, Cincinnati, Houston and UCF and then said Memphis and Boise State were the next two on deck? Karma Police are knocking on that door.
All the Boise hate is getting ridiculous like They havent been beatin up on the P5 schools for years now. They have had rivarlies with TCU and BYU until they joined. I believe if they had BYU schedule they would probably be undefeated if not 1 loss even better if they had Iowa State's schedule.
Why so much Boise hate? Boise has been atleast competitive against the power conference teams that have played them. Boise would most likely be in the Big 12 right now if the market was bigger.
Why not use the head-count of recruits that were offered by Big12 teams but opted for ?? SEC, Big10, etc ?? Use the talent evaluations as a bragging rights basis. Then, balance out On-field Busts vs. Dark Horse Stars.
Is the transfer portal creating parity? Talent tends to flow, like water, downward. Players go where they can get playing time because without playing time they cannot demonstrate their skills to move to the next level. This may be the cause of the current chaos.
SMU showing what a mistake it was to not invite them in the Big 12. The amount they are willing to invest to be a top team would be unparalleled in the Big 12 as they are already willing to invest as much as Miami, FSU, & Clemson do in football.
@@randomnerd2332I disagree with you. But I do think the hypocrisy of the Big12 with their rhetoric and rationale for not adding Boise State, Tulane, Memphis, and either USF or one of three schools from the SBC that got strong consideration is coming back to bite them in their arrogant ass and hypocrite heads.
@@randomnerd2332 Boise State landed SEC talent out of the portal helped them a lot this year. Their starter QB came from an SEC school who was not getting playing time.
ASU, BYU, Iowa State all could lose and they are out of the playoffs. You have to win on the field. If you don't? Don't complain crying if the Big 12 or SEC teams not making it into the playoffs. Boise is making some noise telling you that the Big 12 should have invited them instead of Houston.
Actually if you look at the rankings, it looks like the CFP might be positioning the Big 12 teams in such a way that the CC leaps Boise. While the anti-Big 12 bias is real, I think putting Boise ahead of the Big 12 champ might be a bridge too far, especially given Boise's performance against Wyoming.
I'm a BYU fan, and I will channel my psychic energy into KSU beating ISU, and then BYU losing to ASU in the CC game. ASU is the Big 12's best bet, and ASU has the talent to potentially compete with the playoff teams with some schematic advantage and luck. BYU does not; BYU is a low-talent, highly optimized team that has far less potential to beat playoff teams in playoff games, and really could get embarrassed in such a game. What you're seeing at with BYU late in the season is not BYU being "out of gas" or "tired" or "fading". It's simply that BYU is "complete" as a team by the 2nd or 3rd week, and there's no much else to improve upon. This is a result of BYU's high stability and low talent.
Wyoming have always played Boise tough. Wyoming finally found their mojo. Plus, Wyoming is a much higher attitude, and it is hard to play there, Colorado State and Air Force because of the climate. People said the same thing about Boise when they were in the WAC when they beat Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl.
I do see BYU beating AZ ST if they played them again. but, I don't see them beating CO or IOWA ST. BYU seems to need the first half of a game to figure out how to play these better BIG 12 teams. so against CO they would be down 3 plus touchdowns by half time. they would never make up that deficit in just the second half of play.
The anti Boise bias is real. They have been discounting them for weeks. No the B12 champ is not jumping them now that BYU has 2 loses. ASU already has 2 losses to non ranked teams 1 of which is 5-6 they are not going to jump them. If people want to be mad they should be mad at the B10 when they have teams like penn st and Indiana who havent beaten anyone and still ranked high
John don't use a chart from Sankey. That doesn't count all the teams that lost on Saturday. That includes BYU. I thought you were better than that.
Big 12 has a lot of good teams that are similar in talent. Any one of them can beat the other. But no top tier teams.
Just imagine if Kansas played like this in those one score losses at the beginning of the season. I am an ASU fan I had Kansas being the favorite, now they are playing like it
Well this year there’s everyone and then there’s Oklahoma State..

Miami and SMU have zero ranked wins. SMU is better than TCU who is a middle of the pack team in the Big 12.
The Boise sensitivity is real. We've been crapped on for years and it's time to fight back.
Yeah right. You get an extra 5 points for having a blue field. How is that legal? How about a neon yellow field? It's per the rules
In future years, don’t start counting your chickens in October.
Or talking up the Fire Coach chants. Unless they do it, AND have the replacement signed and in-place.
Personnally, I'm not fretting over the playoffs much. I am totally enjoying the most competitive, exciting conference in the NCAA.
Agree! Very entertaining league, and I’m glad my Utes are part of it, notwithstanding the complete meltdown of the team this year
John, showing exactly why this still is not a "playoff" but a made for TV invitational.

Awesome overview-view John! Thanks!

Memphis is a shit hole and Boise has gay blue turf
Bring Boise St, Tulane, SMU (swap West Virginia with ACC) to Big 12 next year. They will take the invite. Problem solved for next year.😊
My team is an SEC program and I think most in my place would tell you Texas has the weakest strength of schedule in that conference.
Last week of the Big 12-“Will be wild!”

As an outsider, BOISE seemed a better choice than yet another Texas school (i.e. HOUSTON). Maybe even UCF due to distance.
LSUMBB beat another Big12 team this afternoon. LSU 109 UCF 102 in 3OT's. LSUMBB was picked 14th in the 16-team SEC.
If we count near misses, KU could have been 9-1.
K-State seems to be the only team with a real shot at winning a challenging bowl game and I'm a KU fan.
Why not use the head-count of recruits that were offered by Big12 teams but opted for ?? SEC, Big10, etc ?? Use the talent evaluations as a bragging rights basis. Then, balance out On-field Busts vs. Dark Horse Stars.
Whoever wins the league needs to make it to at least a national semi-final
Another reason to not like a free for all conference where teams play an unbalanced schedule. Look at Indiana.
A better method (which already exists) to rank teams needs to be employed and proven.
I never really believed in the Big 12
Is the transfer portal creating parity? Talent tends to flow, like water, downward. Players go where they can get playing time because without playing time they cannot demonstrate their skills to move to the next level. This may be the cause of the current chaos.
Boise State gain alot of transfer from SEC players who wanted playing time. Boise got SEC talent when Big 12 falter to get any of them.
A conference has to be "top heavy" to get and make noise in the CFP.
Doesn’t matter all the team are average at best..
You should consider wearing an Eeyore costume while recording these shows.
What about the bad officiating in the big12 in the OU Alabama game and Texas tech OSU game refs gave osu 4 to's at the end of the game
SMU going for it. Oil $$.

Don’t wait on the Big 12 life raft if the ACC implodes.
@@blackjackfabrication4043 The BIG12 has already imploded, just over ~10 years.

Ginger talking about college ball? Younger than some of the players.? Clickbait.
