I watched 50 videos on how to do this and this was the only one that fully went in depth. Thank you.
thank you! I appreciate the feedback : )
yeah i had an issue where the locate file was showing nothing in the files so the replace clips method helped me out- no one else recommended that to me. Was much quicker than disk search.@@videoeditingcentral
Hands down, the best explanation on how to fix this issue! You actually explain why things happen and why you're doing something in the system. This is sorely lacking in so many similar videos. Keep up the great job!
thank you so much! really appreciate your kind words : )
K-pop???? kkkkkkkk
I move two videos during the render to a folder to clear my desktop, didn’t know it caused such a big issue with audio. Video saved me!
Not many videos go over many issues and solutions. Sometimes 1 solution doesn't solve everything so I appreciate the extra time and effort shown here still in such bite sized content. Bravo 👏🏽
thank you!
You're a legend! I had renamed my gopro file into something else which lead to my media offline error. Thanks, all I had to do was relocate the folder location :D
Holy molly man this video saved multiple months of work for one of my videos, i can not thank you enough, i thought i was going to give up right then and their, thank you so much
amazing, man! thank you for sharing : )
Sir i am an video eiditor seriously facing from this problem😥 thankyou for making this video wish you all the best👍👍
thank you so much for your kind words! glad this helped out a fellow video editor 🙂
Jesus Christ you just saved me like 2 hours of work in the first 2 minutes of this video, Preciate you!
lol, thank you! glad I can help.
But was it him or was it Jesus Christ?
Relink Media worked...Thanks
Thanks mate!! I couldn’t find how to fix until now👍🏾
glad this helped!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Great video. Thanks
Thank you for an excellent overview, Question? Why would media offline show in FX Stylize and how would one correct it?
thank you, Alan! did you get a media offline error when you applied one of the Stylize effects? If so, which one? if you don't mind giving me a bit more details on your problem, that'd be great.
@@videoeditingcentral Resolved: It may have been a memory/hard drive problem. Many thanks
very helpful!
thank you!!!
thank you very much it really helped
I don't see the error in edit page. I only see it while exporting.
I am doing a prores EDL workflow for color turnover: of bringing a prores 4444 xq into Resolve. But when I import the preconformed EDL using the Prores timeline, all the clips in that EDL are offline. What's the next step? Thanks.
Do I’m getting this issue with Analog drone video when it goes to static. Is there anyway to force davinci to play the static/analog break-up
I had a Media Offline error when I imported am MP4 format video with a frame rate of 240fps, when I converted it to 30fps, the offline error disappeared. Does Resolve have a limit to the frame rate of the video?
That's very useful. Thank you. But my issue is that I renamed my videos file name and when I put the name back to the original name it still isn't working. I tried relining the clips but when I go to the location of the video none of the videos shows up and the folder is empty. I tried copying the video to a new folder but that doesn't work either inside that folder too it's empty. Outside of davinci resolve 18 I can see all videos are present in those folders. Can you please help?
what does it mean if you get this error as soon as you add the media ?
that's very interesting. as soon you add the media to the timeline or media pool?
Sorted by paying the $1.50 codec from Microsoft
DID YOU FIGURE IT OUT? I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE
me to I have the same problem
I have the same issue on a Mac. As soon as I add the media.
It also happens when we replace the footage (by re-rendering). it is a very disgusting issue.
thanks!
Thank you
Another thing that can cause this problem is deleting all the cache files while in another project. This is most common with Fusion effects. The fix is to delete the cache files again while in the current project. The program really need to be smarter about missing cache files and just pretend they never existed.
thank you for sharing this tip. this is super helpful and great to know!
I had that problem. It was fixed by not having the relevant files on the desktop. They need to be in documents
I get the Media Offline error only for videos shot on Google Pixel 3 or Google Pixel 7 Pro. Why is that? And no matter what I do, the matter does not get resolved. All other videos load up just fine. From my Samsung is no problem. Just these two phones. And if I open them in another video editor and export them again as mp4s, the matter gets resolved. But directly from my Pixels is a problem. Any thoughts?
I am having the issue with offline media. This did not solve it though... Resolve can't find the file, but i cant move the file, cause resolve is using it...! How stupid is that?!
What kind of pc or laptop do you have to run everything resolve can throw at your computer?
hi I have a Mac, but I have to say there is a limit for sure. certain effects are just impossible to run on my machine.
I only get the Media Offline errors on my transitions. Any idea how to fix that?
really??? that is odd. so both your videos are fine but when you applied a transition, it is give you this error? if so, can you also try this on some other videos, or a different timeline maybe?
i import videos from my nintendo switch, and they show up as offline. every other piece of media i have saved shows up just fine
Why can´t they just do like *Vegas pro? * Search for the missing file? Or the name of the file?
"This is just dumb, move the file, search for file would be the best option!"
Why haven´t DaVinci Resolve thought about this better!?
Honestly, already missing Vegas - Pro here, it´s more simply made, better search area & better file back-up system.
DaVinci Resolve: Is just more advanced I suppose - still have insanely many issues enough & Adobe can go eat shit, for many reasons.
Anyway, thank you for this info, I guess I have to move back all the files & mix them all into a huge annoying *cluster-F!* or re-create all...
CSL & OUT!
Every time I sign out and open davinci again it’s shown offline media without replacing i don’t know whats the issue can someone help please
hi, let's see what the issue is here. so to just to make sure, you see errors whenever you open Resolve? and was the media file working fine to begin with or?
@@videoeditingcentralI have that same issue as well. Whenever I save my project and then next day when I open davinci resolve, it again shows media offline. And the relink media option doesn’t turn red. And when I try to browse the videos from relink media, it doesn’t show any folder.
@@armanmalhi2293 I have had the same problem. Has anyone found a solution?
I am getting Media offline flashing during my video and none of these fixes are working
during your video? is it sporatic? the problem sometimes may go away by restarting if it is not a systemic issue
@@videoeditingcentral it was sporadic. I finally found out my HD was full and it was unable to cache files. I made room and that didn't work. I had to delete all cache files and it started working again
@@YorkyPoo_UAVwhere do you find cached files mate please? 🙏
@@bugsy742 mine are in a separate folder that Davinci made in my videos folder. CacheClip, ProxyMedia
All I did was rotate an image from the source file and I lost the linkage. NOTHING I do will allow the link to come back. Not sure why rotating an image is causing this. The image is there... makes zero sense. I'm so confused hahaha. Any help would be appreciated.
hi, that is very very odd. so how did you rotate the image an where did you do it?
@@videoeditingcentral I just opened the picture on my computer and rotated it in the main file location on my computer. The Photos app that opens when I click photos, has a rotate 90 degrees button at top of Photos app.
#VideoEditingCentral - Hey Bud!! Love your video, But I have a problem here. The video file I'm using is not recognized by Davinci. I can play it just fine in VLC Media Player, but not in Davinci. Even though when linking to the folder it does not see the file.
Can you Help Please?
Thanks!!
hi thank you! what is the file format you were consuming in DaVinci?
until this last update, I only got this when I moved a video after uploading it. I now get it when I upload an MP4 video, I then have to go to a conversion program that compresses the file and saves it as an MP4 file. the last version was better.
