They broke up cuz Ian was getting older and he wanted to have a family but Nina was young and wanted to explore herself
He even proposed to her but she wasn't ready
Nikki on the other hand isn't very old than Nina but she didn't have many ambitions and she saw that her acting career wasn't working out so she was ready to settle down and have a family
