Great for the living room ,they fill the area with sound well and mainly had them for the base response is part of a av system with a speaker switch box to a dedicated audio amp.If you did buy a set they are great value and you won't be disappointed .
I'm tempted to buy a pair of these 230's but curious to know how the tweeters sound. The only thing that would put me off is if the sound from them is harshly bright and fatiguing on the ears.
What I would say they don't distraught the tweeters do blend in with the sound well,I have them connected to a av amp and a audi amp with a switch box and a dedicated audio amp makes a difference to the overall sound and that's running off a 30 year old technics ampflier the av amp i use is a denon system,hope this helps I was going to put a sound demo on, I didn't because you wouldn't be able to here the sound quality on you tube
Base very good ,ther a great speaker no question value for money at the moment, connected to a high end amp cope very well with base set high....I would recommend.

Thinking of getting these soon to replace some 220s - what do you think of them? How's the bass?

Yes Jim they really nice ,I am in a lucky position to compare them, to other speakers on the same amp there great on base ...very nice speakers .
