I have an original warbird that is more than 30 years old. When i acquired it some 5 years ago i was surprised the model held up so well and was super easy to assemble.
I recall decades past AMT's kit of the D'Deridex-class Romulan Warbird from Star Trek: TNG. I had lacked the money to buy one, and several years later, whilst looking for the kit, I could find none. Now it again, at long last, is back to us (coincidentally, rather like the Enterprise -C kit from TNG's third- season episode "Yesterday's Enterprise"). Ironically, I find myself in the same bind. SMH Since I must allow myself what delight I actually can have, I call for Northern Lights/Round 2 to make for us a kit of this Romulan vessel in 1:1000th-scale. This would make it roughly 90 cm (round 32") in length. For that matter, I similarly exhort them to issue 1:1000th-scale kits of the Enterprise -C, -D, -E, and I expect, the eagerly anticipated -F. These four certainly would drive fan demand! Newer mold technologies would facilitate far greater levels of surface detailing of major hull components, finer parts, better fit, etc. Aftermarket details would facilitate even further these efforts, too. The Romulan ship's extensive fenestration veritably cries out for illumination. On the current kit, that for me would be prohibitively tedious. A new, larger design, however, readily would lend itself to just such adaptations. I know how to make these kits even more relevant: to develop a back-to-what-works Star Trek series with engaging stories incorporating starships of the same class. I know how to tell these stories, too.
Great vid, I've been waiting for this one! I've got the old one in the stash. My all time fave Trek ship! Did you say the panel lines were engraved? The old kit has raised panel lines. Apart from that, it's the only difference I can see apart from the glowy parts of course. I look forward to watching you build this in the contest. Good luck with her. :)
I have the original (or so I think it is the original) from the Adversary kit. I would love to light it but don't have those skills just yet. I was disappointed to learn that the original kit doesn't have those window decals which I need since I won't be lighting it. Look forward to seeing this get built
If you haven't already, complete the form in the link, and send payment. The current model is the AMT 1125. Ask for decals and instructions... round2corp.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Round2-Parts-Replacement-Request-Form.pdf
Does this kit need and glue? I prefer snap together model kits that require no glueing whats so ever so I can play with them. I do have only one "Star Trek" ship model such as the Klingon D-7 Battlecruiser snap together model kit made by Polar Lights.
Have you noticed that the upper and lower body looks exactly like the war of the world's war machines shell from the original movie have look st the film and then look at the war birds upper shell and lower shell

I saw this kit a few weeks ago and I was wondering what was in the box. Thank you for showing!

Don't they make a bigger version of it ?
I have the older one. Should I sell it, and get this one? Or keep the three piece set?
