The Texans offense has really struggled twice this year once vs the Bears and the other vs the Vikings. After the first two drives of the game the Texans could not move the ball on the Bears defense. They did have one other legitimate drive later in the game but the Bears forced a fumble in the red zone. You know an NFL QB that always shows up in Prime Time games? Jared Goff. He beat Dak last year, save for one of the worst officiating calls ever and beat him like a drum today. Goff in the last three games has been other worldly in yards per completion averaging close to 15 yards a catch while completing 82% of his passes thrown. He just led the Lions to consecutive 40 point offensive games since 1952. This after going 18 for 18 which no NFL QB has ever accomplished, certainly not at 16.2 yards per attempt. The Lions have a great offensive line, with talented play-makers but it doesn't happen if there is no Jared Goff under center.

One can argue that the 49ers offensive situation isn’t no where as good the nfl world thinks
    1. They have a bad o line. Purdy is the 8th most Pressured QB in the nfl and pff ranks the 49ers o line as 24th
    2. The whole narrative that Kyle draws these guys wide open with his scheme could not be further from the truth. The 49ers WRs r averaging only 2.6 yards of separation per route which is bottom 3 in the nfl meaning purdy is mostly making tight window throws.
    3. Name Value. The media are tying the 49ers players to their name value to make this whole “Avengers” narrative with Purdy. In reality, Ayiuk hasn’t been a top 20 wr this szn and Deebo can’t run routes and has been not good since his 2021 breakout yr. CMC and kittle r the ones who live up to their name value and they have missed games and in CMC’s case the whole yr.
    4. Drop Back. The 49ers passing attack has been top 2 in the nfl despite them running the third fewest amount of play action entrusting Purdy to drop back.
All the data and stats show that purdy beats these narratives around him. The 49ers offensive situation is closer to the bottom than the top but no one will care lmao

100% People really over estimate how good the 49ers are offensively. We daw what happened last year when Trent Williams went down, the team lost 3 straigh and both Purdy AND CMC looked bad.
This is the difference between a team like the Lions and the 49ers. Detroit built their team in the trenches and paired their incredible skill players with the best O-Line in the league. The 49ers only have Williams amd if he goes down, their O-Line is bottom 25. They will not will a Super Bowl with a bad O-Line

In fairness, the Texans game felt way worse than the score because the Bears weren't able to do anything on offense and Caleb was getting killed. The Texans also killed themselves with penalties so things could have been worse. Having said that, Caleb is playing infinitely better than he was then and that doesn't seem to register with Middlekauf. And what is crazy is that Caleb and the offense will keep getting better assuming they stay healthy. So even if they would lose to Detroit/GB/Minnesota now, things can change by week 14.

It’s probably not Collin. He’s comfortable with Lamar. He’s an OG and is past all that. That bald headed cat is lacking. It’s a pattern with him. It’s on tape. If Lamar lost he would be spitting and sweating feigning concern. It’s because of people like him that Lamar has to whip it out every week to let him know there are levels to this. Men love competition. They test their mettle no matter who it comes from. These are the narrative pansies. This is who this cat is. And what he is.

  • @publikenemi49

One of John Middlekaufs best takes on Brock Purdy, is that (paraphrasing) “there’s a misconception that it’s easy to play for Kyle Shanahan, it’s easy to be Andy Reid’s or Kyle’s guy at quarterback. No it isn’t, it’s hard to play these coaches , most can’t do it”…
This went right over Colin‘s head
My take - If physical talent mattered most at the QB position, Trey Lance would be the Niners starting quarterback today, instead he is QB3 in Dallas.. and Lamar would have at least 3 rings.

Colin spent the entire off-season talking about how underrated Kyler Murray was. "I have no idea why people don’t talk about him more," Whatever happens on the most recent Sunday becomes his new strong opinion.

    🏈Dak Prescott (WINNING record, 76-43)
    🏈Trevor Lawrence (LOSING record, 20-34)
    🏈Daniel Jones (LOSING record, 24-40)
If Dak's overpaid, then Trevor and D. Jones are WAAAAY overpaid. Lawrence and Jones were signed to MEGA 💰long-term contracts despite their LOSING records.🤔

This is my problem with people like John he discredits the wins that Caleb and the Bears have because the teams they Beat all have 1 win even though the Bears are just playing who’s on their schedule yet will turn around and praise the commanders and Jayden’s wins when their wins came against teams just as bad as the teams the Bears have beat are we gonna act like the Giants Bengals Browns and Cardinals are so much better than the Titans Rams Panthers and Jaguars they aren’t both rookie QBs have won against bad teams you can’t crap on what Caleb does against bad teams and then in the same breath lose your mind over Jayden play against similarly bad teams

I have to find me a woman to love as much as Colin loves Caleb. Colin always says how much he loves the city of Chicago, and he I believe low key roots for the Bears. Love Colin, love the Bears. Caleb looks like he’s in complete command lately. Like they both said, however, the division games will be TOUGH. Hoping the can go 3-3. If that happens, they’ll make the playoffs without a doubt.
