Ajax can't return because money is now a too big thing in football. All the players leave at the age of 22/23/24 because an English club throws money at them on that age.

YouriFifa Shame they have a price cap on player's transfers and wages. It's painful being an Ajax fan and seeing all the talent leave. Even recently this happens, like Eriksen, Cillessen(Prefer Onana but idc), and Luis Suárez.

It is unfortunate the clubs really can't succeed anymore by just developing good players. They need a lot of money to make it to the top nowadays, so that they can keep their stars and sign other world class players. On a side note, I really enjoy the World Cup and other national team competitions because of the lack of transfers. Teams really need to work their way up themselves in order to be successful.
I think a cap on transfer fees and wages like Mika Vanderbrug suggested might be an interesting idea, although when these limits existed in the past, they led to corruption and scandal. But with better oversight, that might not be a problem anymore.
But Ajax have always had kick*ss youths.
If Ajax were In a more competitive league they would be a club that can challenge with Madrid and Barca since they'll be able to keep more of those legends

How many Bundesliga titles did BVB sell to Bayern, who knows how far Porto could have gone if they kept Jose and that team that won the CL, it must suck to support selling clubs.
Think of how different football would be if Barca were a selling club and let Iniesta, Messi and Xavi leave in like the late 2000s, they'd probably only have 1 CL title in the last 10 years instead of 4 and maybe like 1 or 2 la liga titles instead of 8
