Hey Peter, been a subscriber for a few months now. I originally came across you and Aaron from the Develop Yourself podcast (I've listened to every episode). I started my journey in software development last year towards the end of April. Being a husband, dad to twins, and a manager for the family business has made my learning process a bit slower than most since the time I can dedicate to it is part-time at best. Having the support system around me throughout it all and watching your videos/listening to the podcast have kept me going with hope that it's only a matter of time for it all to click. I'm proud to say that it is definitely starting to click and my confidence in myself/skills is getting higher. I wanted to thank you, and Aaron for your roles in that. Without the podcast and your videos, I'm not sure my journey would be the same as it has been. So THANK YOU!
I'm just curious which is the better route, to become a freelancer on sites like upwork/freelancer or to open social media share my work and clients would come to my personal website?

You're very welcome, Caleb! Thanks for your kind words. Keep up the great work, you'll get there in time!
Holding that mic like a boss 🎤
Thanks for constantly tempting me to look into freelancing. 😉
Go for it! :)
Could you please link to all the tools and websites you mention (learning, invoice, finding jobs…)?
Hey Peter, thanks for sharing your knowledge. It really helped a lot.
Glad it was helpful!
Underrated as hell
How can I get hired?
But you need work experience to get experience. Might as well dive into freelance while you wait for the 1000 applications to get back to you

If the latter were a predictable channel for client acquisition, that would be ideal. In reality, you probably need both at the beginning.
