Absolutely magnificent! Wow! I found you because tonight I was thinking of Yasmeen. Her mother Vicki and I were best friends from 5th grade til the day she died. I was with her when she met your dad Taj, and when Yasmeen was born I celebrated her life. When Yasmeen graduated from high school her mom called me to see if Yas could stay with me while she got acclimated to being on her own in Santa Rosa and started at the SRJC. Yasmeen moved in with me and stayed with my daughters and I for about 8 months. She moved just 6 weeks before her death, into an old church that had been renovated into a gorgeous home in Santa Rosa with some friends. I took Yasmeen to see her dad perform in San Francisco and he treated us with kindness and Yas was so, so happy. My daughters loved Yasmeen with her colorful and ambitious personality. She was always shining and you always knew when Yasmeen was home! It was an honor to have had this bright and beautiful young lady in my home, and an even greater gift to be asked to sing at her Memorial Service. After the crash I was given the task of retrieving her things from her room in that beautiful church-house. I gave everything to her mom Vicki. Vicki never recovered after Yasmeen died. She had over 23 years of sobriety but Yasmeens death was just too much for her to bear. Vicki came from Hawaii and stayed with me and I knew she was not long for this world. Sadly Vicki basically died of a broken heart. Her beautiful, talented, sweet, funny, loving daughters death was too much for her to want to live another day. She tried, but not really. It was as if that car crash had permanently disabled her. Not long after Yasmeen passed, my lifelong friend also closed her eyes forever too. Finding this video of you just brings tears to my eyes. Yasmeen looked so much like you Deva. She spoke of you often and only had the highest praise for your beauty and talent. She was proud to be family with all of her siblings and her only regret was not having enough opportunity to be together. I miss Yasmeen. The last time I saw her was the Friday before she died. I went to the mall and was aimlessly walking around when I heard someone screaming my name! It was Yasmeen! She literally lept over the counter where she was a cashier for See's Candy, and she ran to me and gave me the biggest "Yasmeen hug". I held onto her and told her I was proud of her for sticking with school and getting a job. She looked radient, and so happy. She told me she was going camping with friends but they still had to get a bunch of stuff. Not sure exactly what that meant, probably food, tents, sleeping bags, but they were going to have a great time. We hugged, and I kissed her beautiful face and told her to have fun and be safe! I got the call a few days later and I just couldn't believe it. I still can't believe that this bright beautiful girls life was cut so short. She looks so much like you and seeing this video brings back a lot of precious memories of Yasmeen and of her mother Vicki. Thanks for sharing your amazing talent. You really are incredible and I pray you have every opportunity you deserve! Yasmeen would be so proud of the beautiful and talented woman you are. ♡ God bless you Deva.....
