I was a defense contractor armoring vehicles in the Middle East in 2004 thru 2007.
I spent time testing explosives under vehicles with a number of government agencies.
It was great entertainment to blow vehicles up and try out various technologies for blast absorption attenuation.
Love this technology.
Forgot to mention, I also worked in Pakistan,UAE,India, and Sri Lanka, and a number of other Arab countries.
Met Sri Lankan Air Force and Army Commanders.
They described the Tamil wars and Sri Lanka's own terrorist attacks in Columbo that killed more people than our 911.

Too bad I am tall because I would make sure to sit and rest my feet on 20 cm of cardboard or the like when inside an APC.
in Asia, the average height of people is 5.5 feet.
therefore, the seat is not a problem with them. very comfortable
@@ceylonCAD I'm sure the seat does it's job. It is just that, older APC's don't have them, because they can't take the hit anyhow. Soldiers are instructed to put their feet on their backpacks.
