Learning Solidworks and these projects are helping me greatly! I did however change the hole diameter of the connecting rod to match the piston pin OD and it looks a lot cleaner. Thanks!

A very good video apart from a few small glitches. 🙂

Commentary would help immensely to actually understand the tools and processes used. The problem is if any tutorial uses a tool or operation the viewer doesn't know it is lost with out explanation. If the tutorial uses tools the viewer knows then we didn't need to watch it in the first place. These videos could be really effective teaching tools if explained (yes - nice to try and break the language barrier but it would be better to make a powerful teaching video for fewer people than a watch me video for more)

Thankyou very much for all of your well presented and explained tutorials.
Is the any chance to do a tutorial on how to model Aluminium composite material? or have you already done one?
    regards
    john

    Dear sir
I have been following your SolidWorks tutorials for quite a while now and so far they have been a lot helpful.
but I came across a doubt at the mark of 31:14 I followed everything but by 31:16 I couldn't figure out how you were able to freely rotate the piston about its axis!
I've put in the mates correctly but still wasn't getting it.
I even made the connecting rod to float.
Your help in this matter will be greatly appreciated!
    Regards
    Wasil Katchi

why is the outside diameter of the pin smaller than the hole at the end of connecting rod where it attaches to the piston ? There is a gap there that would mean that the connecting rod is not correctly attached? thank you

It would've much better if you have shown a 2d drawing for reference before going for 3d. Now its hard to figure out how much is the dimension of the rectangle and its proper placing

Right click on the connecting rod and select Float option because first part always fix by default.

Manually Sketched it then... but it would take a lot of time.
