Just bought one without even knowing one thing about it. Rode it 17 miles back home on both street & gravel. And man I was not disappointed at all. After doing the research & seeing videos like this. Perfect purchase.

@@brittanyw3526You found yourself a great deal! I've added a seat back rack from Walmart to hold small to medium bags & also a 2-child seat bike trailer. This bike pulls 120 lbs great. Only things I would change like other have is the brakes cause they do squeak really loud, brake levers for longer reach, tires to solid black, front fork maybe to carbon and a phone mount or a small Garmin GPS

This bike is the real deal. After watching a lot of videos on it last week, i went to my local Walmart this past Tuesday, and they had one medium sized frame in stock! I did three mods..... new pedals, a comfy seat, and handlebar riser. I think the riser REALLY improves it for us older riders. Just went out today and did 25 miles, i loved it! Can't recommend it enough, best $250 I've spent in a long time. I expect a lot of enjoyment from it.

They announced 3 sizes. Small, Medium and Large.
The Large disappeared off the website. At 6' 3" you are going to need an XL or XXL. The range was for all 3 sizes. Odd way to do a hang tag.
I know it's way out of the budget likely, but the Poseidon X Ambition in XXL is a MONSTER for the Big Boys.

On a road bike 6' is usually about 685 mm top tube + stem. My 6' 4" buddy is running that 610 top tube with the 110 stem it came with. He tried a 90 (When it was new and his first experience with a bike that fit). He later tried a 130, but his back wasn't ready for that. I suspect he might like a 120 now, but they are uncommon. They sound like a big stem for a gravel bike but the thing 106 cm long. 120 ain't nothin' on that train.

But, it shifts great, the gear range could be better but was very manageable on the climbs I did. I went looking for this bike at Walmart up here in Canada, I didn't find this one but i found another one at Walmart, the "Snafu Hyper", snafu is on the seat and hyper is on the frame. Its a 700 c by 38 mm tire gravel bike, regular $498 marked down to clear at $198 Canadian. Its baby poop brown. For a beginner and a senior like me this is a good way to start out with a gravel bike. I hadn't even heard of gravel bike until a month ago, I just knew about road bikes and mountain bikes, this bike is a perfect cross between the two. I just did a one hour ride over the road, hard pack dirt, gravel and mud. The mud stopped me dead, but otherwise it performed well. I added a rear fender as I hate the dirt streak up my back. I need to get a softer seat too that one is hard as rock. Look it up in the US it may be cheaper than the Ozark.

If only they hadn't canceled the Large.
At least the Medium has a 56.5 cm eff TT, but that 50 cm ST is going to man guys much over a 33" measured inseam are going to max it out with the included seat post if it's 350 mm. As well as a pretty low stack for a Gravel Bike if you are over 5' 10" or so.
The website always shows sold out. The stores have standing orders so no excess coming in. Search the local stores near your zip code. Medium (50 cm) and Small (44 cm) are both in stock near me. The label them by actual ST instead of eff Seat Tube so don't panic when you see the sizes.

I went to wallyworld today to take a look. Everyone says the color is great but I'm neither for or against it. Pulled it off the shelf to give it a quick look. Frame looks very well designed and tires are decent but everything says cheap. Well that's what I went to see it for.
Walking out the door the guy checking receipts first says he likes the color. Guess my taste in color is off. Chain fell off the front sprocket rolling it to the door and I hoped it wasn't a sign it was giving me. The guy looks it over and said it looks like a really nice bike then I told him it's only $248. It kinda took him back.
I have to say the guy who put the bike together did a really good job. Rear derailer needs adjustment and handlebar needs aligned with the fork. All nuts and bolts were tight. Pretty good job.
First ride and I have to say the cockpit is really comfortable and the ride pretty good. Steers true, shifts clumsy, and brakes fair.
I'm glad I got it thanks to your riding and comments.
By the way, I'm 77, overweight, outta shape. I have an old specialized fsrs xc mountain and schwinn road bike both in great shape. I also have an electric bike that I used to get my old cranky knees moving. I'll be getting ride of the electric bike asap.

Components of this bike are absolute bottom barrel, that LTWOO 2x7 is around $20, it uses $5 freewheel and cheap riveted crank. The wheels came from cheap Kent bikes. The weight of this bike is 30 lbs, which is crazy heavy for a modern non-steel bike. However, the frame of the bike is outstanding, it is on pair with $600+ bikes, except for the heavy steel fork that is easy to upgrade with CF. All and all you pay for a ready to ride bike that you can make better later on by replacing shifters and wheels. With that comes the biggest caviat. Tubeless ready wheels, tires and a decent 11 speed groupset plus better brakes will push the total into $600+ which is the price of a Poseidon or Triban bike, or a used name brand

It runs a bit longer than most 54 cm bikes. I think the reason people perceive it as short is it has something like a 70 cm stem. A decent name brand stem will run you $10-20 new on ebay. 90 mm or so just as a guess, but it depends on your biomechanics.

I bought a Walmart Schwinn AL Comp Mountain Bike. in 2 months time around 650 miles the entire drivetrain was shot. chain stretched out, both crankset and cassette teeth completely worn down. I will never again trust any Wal-Mart bike. IMO they are all garbage made with the cheapest parts. if you are only gonna ride a couple blocks then let your bike collect dust then buy a Wal-Mart bike otherwise go to a bike shop and buy an entry level bike or better.

    • @ventureall-terrain2297

Everyone has their opinions, we typically get these and upgrade them, make them our own. It’s a good starting price point for someone novice rider or likes to build bikes. The frames are better than they’ve ever been, so we just go off that

@@ventureall-terrain2297 it is really not an opinion. it is proven fact. I have had many non Wal-Mart bikes and never had an issue. many department stores have proprietary parts and are made not to be upgraded. you can upgrade this bike and some others but by time you do it would have been cheaper to buy a better bike.. check out berm peek video on this bike.
most bike chains last 2,000 to 3,000 miles and if you maintained your bike you just replace the chain 2-3 x before having to replace the rest of the drivetrain. I bought a 300.00 Walmart and before 650 miles the entire drivetrain is shot. that is not an opinion it is fact. I just thought the bike would last until I could save up to buy a 2k bike. I was wrong.
