This is my first time seeing this episode, and it's already officially one of my favorite episodes of the series! The killer reveal was creative, the funny nod they make to Gene Barry having been in 'War of the Worlds' was clever, and I LOVED the hilarious Western-showdown parody when Peter questions the director!
Loved both classic and new Burke's Law. Also loved the recognising guest stars past and present and films or tv series, I even got some the inside jokes/puns.
I love to go to Wikipedia for a history of the actors, What a busy career Robert Vaughn had, died at 84 "Vaughn died in a hospice in Danbury, Connecticut,[33][34] on November 11, 2016, eleven days before his 84th birthday, after a year-long treatment for leukemia"
Yes..Robert Vaughn was an incredible actor..who performed very well in all his movies...drama series too..like Man from U.N.C.L.E. the Magnificent seven etc
Yep towards the end of his life he was even in a television show obviously they had to write the character off because of his treatment and well it's sad but in a way he lived a long there are too many young actors who have not lived half the life that he lived and they didn't die from suicide or a car accident they died like he did from cancer and the saddest thing is he had a good innings and many of those half his age have been dying lately of cancer haven't, I suppose the most important thing you get from all of that is that the most important thing one should do is live life to the fullest.
Nice inside joke here at 39:36 when Amos asks about the War Of The Worlds poster as it was one of Burke's Law actor Gene Barry's first job back in 1953.. 8-)
Watch Robert Vaughn in Hustle great cast I bought the full seasons he is fantastic with age sadly he past I think only 2yrs ago 😢 he got better with age.
...''WHY THERE IS NO MENTION ...of BEVER-LEiGH-BANSFiELD...don't Believe they ...come...any ...prettier...THAN...HER...''OMG"""she just Took...my BREATH""...away...my ...GooDNESS...Who's...Her...parents...!!!...???...
They had protein shakes back then. They could have cut the lines where Vinnie spells out the tomatoes. ALL the puns are awful. Why would the chief of police be on a routine call? Why would the suspect just casually show up at the investigator's house?
Good premise but to see a good actor like Robert Vaughn totally wasted is a shame. The scene in which Peter Barton & Jason Bateman spoof a Western gunfight scene is awful. Even Dom DeLuise disappoints in this episode. The only amusing scene is Gene Barry commenting on what a fine film "The War of the Worlds" was. Besides the ending is too predictable.
Hilarious episode. I so wished they wouldn't have spoiled the series with that totally superfluous, overweight, overcholesterized chef though. Just my unamuzed opinion. I wonder why they cast him at all, next to all those gorgeous looking staples and stars of the show beaming with health. Just have to keep fastforwarding thru his antics I guess. And yes, that car could have gone to charity. How selfish people get when they hate and resent.
Disagreed. BOTH the old run and the new run balanced the camp with good casting and generally solid writing. Gene Barry was legend. Yes I do prefer the old run but both runs were well done.
This episode was written by Gene Barry's son. Michael Lewis Barry wrote several episodes of this version - some of them in collaboration with his father Gene Barry. They're all here - check out the credits.
Robert Vaughn was one of those classy, graceful actors that is irreplaceable. RIP good, sir.
Love that scene where Burke looks at the movie poster and refers to it.
"Wonder what happened to the actor ?" was his line.

,
The star of war of the worlds nice joke...
Loved both classic and new Burke's Law. Also loved the recognising guest stars past and present and films or tv series, I even got some the inside jokes/puns.
The phone duel with the phones was a hoot! The whole show is full of trivia. Fun Show!
Yes, Gene Barry played in the War of the Worlds (1953), a film adaptation of H. G. Wells Novel.....
My guy Joseph Bologna. I always enjoyed watching him work. Didn't realize he passed away in 2017 may he rest in peace.
He played the same role in 'My favorite year' just like this,he was great with Peter O'toole' my favorite movie;)
@@lioness7582 I remember seeing that years ago will put on my list to watch again.. thanks 😊
How did these actors keep a straight face with some of these scenes and lines?!
This is so funny. I miss trashy shows like this!

Thanks for the information. I do that, too.

I loved the showdown and how Jason Bateman answers his call, with a sound of defeat...lol! Oh so funny! 24:19
Robert Vaughn was a legend. RIP. Joseph Bologna also passed. The twist here is a common trope but they hit it.
Love the War of the Worlds reference
Very intertaining and filled with stars
Great episode
One of the better of the new episodes. Crystal Chappell is a solid actress / Carol Potter as well. Dom is always solid.
One of the best I think,a good Halloween episode! it sure had me howling whoooooo!
Robert Vaughn savedved this episode. Man From UNCLE, Magnificent Seven; Vaughn was never properly interviewed.
Also Bullitt.
Have to love his one liners
Nice inside joke here at 39:36 when Amos asks about the War Of The Worlds poster as it was one of Burke's Law actor Gene Barry's first job back in 1953.. 8-)
Yes, I wonder what did happen to him? Well, he was also in the Tom Cruise remake in a brief long shot as the grandfather.
'War of the Worlds' wasn't Barry's first job. There was also a mention of Bat Masterson in another episode.
Yeah that’s why I said it was one of first acting jobs - didnt mean that is was his actual first 😁
Caught that first round...wow what a hoot...14:30...this one full of inside jokes...
Jason Bateman is handsome 👍🙋♀️🇦🇷
Gene Barry was the epitome of class. I prefer the '60s version with Tim and Les, his associates.
Watch Robert Vaughn in Hustle great cast I bought the full seasons he is fantastic with age sadly he past I think only 2yrs ago 😢 he got better with age.
Jason Batmen is 6 years younger than me but boy he makes me feel old.
Little Shop of Monsters :D Excellent store.
The Good, the Bad, and the Vampire.
Funny wild west scene.
*The Dueling Cellphones* :D
Yeah, that does seem like a pretty cool store.
loved the gun slinger scene
i am fed up with superficia movies about beauties and vampires But the detective movies are very good
Good one yeah 👍
Jason Bateman was just a baby in this episode!
love burks law law just found Ya TY
Good episode
That phrase "rest home" has been put to bed.
This series is so cheesy and BAD. The supporting regulars are TERRIBLE. What a GREAT show!
War of the Worlds poster moment!!
Wow, Henry went from Filipino to Hawaiian! Take that, butterflies.
War of the Worlds, starring Gene Barry
very PUNNY SHOW, love it
Me too.
Why is it so obvious that you know who is going to be killed in all the episodes. The killer is caught by a trial and eliminate method.
I also go to Wikipedia to look up the actors
hilariously funny
It seems like all the victims from season 1 are all entertainers in movie fashion or tv
I guess Chief Burke didn't drive at all or he wouldn't have needed rides all over the place with Henry on the shelf.
Joseph bologna, the mom & Brandon's girlfriend from 92010, robert vaughan.
...''WHY THERE IS NO MENTION ...of BEVER-LEiGH-BANSFiELD...don't Believe they ...come...any ...prettier...THAN...HER...''OMG"""she just Took...my BREATH""...away...my ...GooDNESS...Who's...Her...parents...!!!...???...
So if he goes to jail for life are all of his contracts suddenly null and void?
24:00 the Cell phone scene was funny
I think Alyssa Milano also made a movie titled Kiss of the Vampire.
Notice when Marilyn mentions her bust went from 34 to 36 Peters eyes fluttered down to her chest at 33.14
Gene Barry 👍 Heavens gotta be a riot!
Corny, but good twist at the end.
They had protein shakes back then. They could have cut the lines where Vinnie spells out the tomatoes. ALL the puns are awful. Why would the chief of police be on a routine call? Why would the suspect just casually show up at the investigator's house?
This show was years ago, posted for entertainment, just enjoy. No one probably thought anything about it when it was on every week, just enjoy.
The sixth and the seventh "Beverly Hills, 90210" actors
Rather nice satire!
My favorite soap opera was “The Guiding Light” Chrystal Chappel was an actress on the show. Didn’t like it that she broke up Josh and Reba up. LOL
Everyone looks so coiffed. It is acting and looks like acting. No surprises. Entertaining though
... this show is fun, but Hollywood writers, make women look stupid and desperate.
zombie walk was STUPID

I knew it!

Original show more class and style than this modern no class no style production.
Mr. Berry surely disapproved of the shallow stories and skin expose.
Agreed but camp is fun.
Disagreed. BOTH the old run and the new run balanced the camp with good casting and generally solid writing. Gene Barry was legend. Yes I do prefer the old run but both runs were well done.
