Hopefully they will visit them as their in Sweden now on vacation and since they have many things in common maybe building a boat collaboration show together would be amazing?
I have watched every episode since RAN left Sweden in 2016, but have often wondered how the conversation went between Johan and Malin when they were deciding whether to build their own boat. Would love to watch you two talk about that decision.
RAN Sailing and A Boat by the River demonstrate the very best craftsmanship building beautiful boats. Each week I look forward to the latest progress of both RAN 3 and Tarkine and I'm never disappointed.
I really love how you take time away from this fabulous build to fill the needs of the family(Vera) to ensure a balanced life. If I can be so bold, Im very proud of you both. Love your content.❤️🇨🇦
How grown-up Vera is now! What a great entry to life she is having! For sure, this little human will know she was loved! Which is good. She is the foundation of the future.
I cannot believe you two are building this boat with only your four hands. It’s amazing. I so hope it brings you all the adventures and joy you are hoping for.
Dejligt i rydder op inden i går videre . Det giver et godt fundament for videre arbejde ( Respekt ) Så lige Vera tager mål , fint Efter forholdene er i en dejlig familie, glæder mig til hver fredag ses Ole 🤗
I love watching your building process - your attention to detail is amazing to see! It’s nice that Vera will be getting a play structure; she seems very excited about the whole idea. See you next week!
It's fun watchi you guys, make this project happen. My, my, little Vera is getting so old! She a beautifu little girl And she speaks Swedish!! I'm 81 and my son just presented me with my 5th grandson. (He doesn't speak Swedish!!) Cheers!
As if building a 50 foot sailing yacht from scratch was not enough, the additional farmstead projects are also very impressive. The 3 of you are so impressive and motivating.
A shout out from Delos. Love it… I love both channels and enjoy watching both boats progression. I find both very inspiring and the two guys are both really cool and brilliant in their own ways. I’m sure they would make a brilliant team…
OMG 😱 and the work continues in record fashion and detail. The strength you are putting into this project will care your you and your family for years‼️👍🏻💥 Agree with others that the interruptions for family time is so important, bold and very manly. 🎉🎉🎉 See you next time. ✨🌊💨⛵️🏝️👙🌞✨
Johan and Malin (and Vera), you are a real inspiration, if I may, to us all. I never thought about sailing, nor care to know what it was. In watching you videos I find so much to learn about. Your skills of course, but also the places you have visited and your quiet appreciation of the places you visit. Thank you.
👏 really enjoy watching your channel can't wait to see the end result, sailing magic carpet just launch their boat I can imagine your craftsmanship it's just as fine as there is, keep up the good work. Tack
2 more years to finish, a long time. I'm guessing when she is finished, you'll be sailing her around the world. I am so looking forward to your videos once you get her on the water.
She's coming along nicely! The exciting bits (interior bulkheads)are getting closer! Love Vera's playground and using reclaimed wood too! The garden is Amazing, great work! Will you show us the renos on the house? We Love your drive and perseverance with everything!! You 3 are Champions! 🎉❤❤❤
I sincerely hope that Ran Sailing never becomes contaminated and diluted with or by the various Showboating sailing platforms. Stay strong and Bless the Ran family...
You are both doing an amazing job on the boat, Respect to you both from here in the UK, i watch every week since i found your page when you flipped her over.
Really enjoying watching this build, I can guarantee I will be watching every episode. And good on you it’s one big project to be doing on your own. I love the idea of doing it, but know the amount of work you have done and still have ahead, which puts me off. Brian from Delos gave you a shout out last episode for the amount of work your putting in. I get my boat and start living the dream in 2030 so we will do you on the water for sure
It’s been a while since we first met at Boot Düsseldorf, where you showed interest in our unique Jet Thruster system. I’ve been following your amazing journey of building your 50 ft sailboat, and I just wanted to say how truly impressed I am by the craftsmanship and dedication you’re putting into it. The progress you’re making is just incredible, and I really enjoy watching your weekly updates on UA-cam. It’s clear that you’re pouring your heart and soul into this project, and it’s inspiring to see the attention to detail in every aspect of the build. On top of that, it’s been so lovely to watch your little one grow up along the way-what an absolute treasure she is! You’re clearly creating not just a beautiful boat, but wonderful memories as a family. Wishing you all the best as you continue with the build, and I look forward to following your progress in the weeks to come.
As a retired sailor, having been employed with our US Merchant Marine Service for 40 years, I take pride with the RAN III project each week on review. Wholesome, craftsmanship, and family values give me strength with each viewing. She'll be a treasure for the Swedish Heritage and for the youth, a true inspiration.
Thinking of Vera and her upbringing centred on life aboard a large yacht: obviously she will be raised on water, and being home schooled. I have no doubt that you two intelligent and focused adventurers will raise a proper human being. Vera is special.
This is vacuum bagging, not entirely the same as vacuum infusion. In vacuum infusion you lay everything up dry and let the vacuum draw in the resin. It’s a bit more complicated and you’ll need a low viscosity epoxy. Cheers!
You could recycle the wood shavings and sawdust into brickettes to help feed your stove over the winter. It's Day-lia and not Dar-lia by the way. One of my favourite flowers. Keep the tubers warm over winter. No frost!!
Truly appreciate all the hard work y'all put into the editing and production of these videos. Music was so chill. Very pleasant. The boats looking super sturdy.
RAN III is going to be a beautiful home afloat built to a standard well above that of the familiar mass-produced boat we have become used to seeing tied up to the finger mooring of the marina. I have just one simple idea to offer to you this time. Are you familiar with the idea of hull straps? These are strong bands of steel laid onto the inside of the hull, forming a large X shape secured to the hull at the inside four corners and made taut. This model of construction is said to have made a significant improvement to the overall strength of our hulls. I can't recall with certainty where I first encountered this revived method of construction, possibly, it may have been the Tally Ho or Arabella restoration projects. BTW, what have been feeding to Vera? She is certainly a smart little button ! 😅
Personally, I like the deep red of the Sapele. I built a rudder out of it and it broke my heart to cover up the graining. Very much like Jarrah from Western Australia- magnificent 👌 . Thanks for another great video 😊
Great progress and its nice to see how tidy you keep your shop. Isn't it a shame how quick the seasons roll around. It didn't seem so long ago the you were going into spring and we were going into winter here in New Zealand. Now we are going into our spring/summer and the reverse is happening for you. Vera will be pleased with her play ground so you will have all her friends over to play on it once its finished. Good to see you balance the boat work with other family stuff. Cheers Ian
Ground screws! I didn't know they made such small versions you could install by hand! I just assisted with the install of a ground screw foundation for a house, pretty much the same but with an excavator, that is so cool.
I loved it that Brian of Sailing SV Delos gave a shout-out to you! I hope you get as much traffic as possible from it!

Fully agree ❤ Awesome job and workmanship
Vera verkar intresserad av vakumpumpar 😀🤣 Kul att lilla livet är med.
Ska bli kul att se & följa er när ni börjar segla igen 👍👍
Personally I would have made the limber holes twice as big and laminated marine ply for these bearers. Criminal using mahogany IMHO. Love the series!
you guys are my heroes, and Vera is just... lovely!!! Thank you! Your adventure is so real! Cheers!
Nice work you guys! Very meticulous and accurate work being done. Love the patience and workmanship. Excited to keep watching the progress! Cheers D
Amazing building skills.
Lovely to see children learing from the real world as opposed to a classroom.

That Shaper CNC router really has been handy. I am impressed.

Wear even a paper mask when dealing with the fiber. Even just cutting. Small fibers you can’t see can embed. They are sharp.
