One thing I learned, the exhaust hose is right beside the intake. An AC unit can only cool 15 give or take degrees from the air entering the intake. The exhaust hose is constantly hot. Like 90 plus. Insulate the hose. This will remove the hose as a heating source and allow the AC to pull in room temperature..
Have a well insulated 30x40 and a 10000 but portable does a good job here in PA. A window unit is probably more efficient and effective if your using building on a daily basis but for occasional use this is the easiest option.
My garage gets to about 150 in the middle of the afternoon as it gets direct sunlight. I live west of Phoenix AZ want to find something that works under $500.

My garage workshop only has one outlet and is not copiable of running any real machinery. I work mostly by hand and I hate getting drenched in sweet. I am no stranger to hard work but I hate sweeting!
Where are you pulling your return air? do you crack the door open to your house? My garage is sealed good and i had to put a vent in my garage door to pull air inside.
What comes in the box of that unit or maybe you could lay out all that’s needed to complete this task. This was a great video though man, helped me a lot, keep up the good work,
Excellent video. I am thinking of a mini-split for my shop here in Indianapolis. I use baseboard to heat the shop, which is very expensive. So a mini-split hopefully would help on my winter heating, as well as give me cooling. My question is how do I size the unit, and do know anyone locally that can help? My shop is used for some of the CIWW workshops, so I know it would be great to cool it for our members.

I have a game room and gym in my 3 car garage. iam wondering if I should get just one of this heaters or a window ac/heater for my fully insulated 3 car garage? If I get just a heater then I have to worry about getting something to cool it in the summer. I just don't know which way will be the way to go, two separate units one for the summer and one for winter or just find a unit that has both in it ac and heating? Garage is about 660sq ft and 8ft ceiling night, fullybinsulated even garage doors. Live in Clovis ca with a climate zone of 9b.

Mine is a 2 car garage and it works just fine with one unit. There is a water collection area in the AC that has to be drained every few months
Seems like the temperature comedown is following the normal day cooling down lol

Any local HVAC guy should be able to help get you the right sized mini split! Cant wait to see how it comes out!

No, will cause ventilation issues.
If you live in the south and have a vented attic, yep you can. I have a 6" pipe going right to my attic and it works great.
