It's kinda interesting how there are so many other 1st arcs they've covered, yet they keep making USM videos long after Vol 1. It's a testament to how addictive and captivating the series is IMO. It flows so smoothly.
Yup. Same with JMS ASM. Though I think the only arc left there that Sal might want to do on the couch is the Hydra one

I really want Ethan to look at the Green Goblin from the Ultimate Spiderman animated series. Where they made him Hulkish but then also gave him a glider and tech suit. It's somehow worse of both worlds lol
Totally agree. Giving him a glider just feels redundant if he's Hulk-lite.

I get Ethan's problem with Ultimate Norman but I do love him. He's so scary and unhinged. I remember reading in a Wizard interview that Norman and Fisk represented moments of growth for Peter. Al though I think this story was anti climatic and Norman in later stories feels less interesting.
Also, did Bendis just write Civil War 2 Carol like the Ultimate Carol Danver? That makes so much more sense.
Yea. I mean I get that if you don’t like a character, but must you put your own personal malice into a character and ruin it for other people? I’m not a Carol Fan either but there are people who are and I wouldn’t want them angry with so I would try to be at least respectful of the character. He also treats Doctor Strange and Punisher the same way.
Dude I love the Immonen era on USM so much, I remember all the stories being great and keeping an amazing pace. Not to mention the unsung hero of the Ultimate comics line, which was Justin Ponsor, who may rest in peace.

For real though thanks guys for continuing to truck through this series, im sure after a point they have to have diminishing returns so its been really cool to see Ben and Ethan experiencing my favorite comic series of all time. And Sal could read a newspaper to us and make it hilarious, so that's just a bonus on top.

It's kinda hard to believe there's only around 5 volumes left overall of Ultimate Spider-Man before the Peter era is over. It's been so fun keeping up with these Back Issues episodes for the last few years. There might be diminishing returns with each upload but it really does make me feel attached to the channel.

I mean, I'll watch just about any book on back issues but Spidey is my favorite fictional character, I'm always happy to be introduced to a new what if or elseworld story, and I always love seeing books like FF get some love.

Hell yeah, we back and we have whole two arcs before Ultimatum and Requiem, which is dope. Next volume has one of the best pay offs to running gag, but this one is interesting thing too.

Ultimate Spider-Man was the first comic I ever got really into. I bought the collections of every volume through the Clone Saga and Death Of A Goblin was the first story I got in single issues through a monthly subscription. It's really special to me.

Fun fact about Kitty moving faster through the air, in the Ultimate Universe crossover between the Fantastic 4 and X-Men (pre-Ultimatum), a future version of Kitty was able to fight The Thing from present day with her learning to change her density powers to go from increasingly light (passing through objects), to increasing her mass-density, giving herself Super-Strength.

Just got back into Ultimate Spider-Man this week! There's so much to like about it, especially with everything going on. Didn't expect another one on Back Issues for a while, but I'm so glad it's back!

I loved ultimate Spider-Man comics and death of the goblin was personally one of my favorite stories mostly because it was actually sad and seeing Harry osborn as hobgoblin actually be killed by his father norman osborn was insane and crazy that I didn't see it coming and holy shit this was sad and tragic at least in my opinion. :)
The first issue in this collection is actually the first comic i ever bought with my own money back in 2007. Being 9 years old, I was super uninterested in the teenage drama so i didn't get any more Ultimate Spider-Man until he died 😅
