So I showed Lilly three different songs tonight, but the other two got blocked worldwide. They were Road To Hell by Chris Rea, and Something's Gotten hold of my heart by Gene Pitney.
Lilly nailed that. Her air musicianship skills are second to none. One day she will be on stage at the Sydney Opera House playing to a full capacity crowd with a live telecast streamed around the world for all those who could not get a ticket to the gig.
I saw this concert on April 26, 1986. I'll never forget it. Sad that they never officially released this. The sound quality doesn't do it justice. Sultans Of Swing is so good here too as is So Far Away where it starts calypso style then explodes in the second half of the song. Anyway what great memories of my favorite band and artist M.K. Love your channel. All the best from Australia. 👍🙏🎸🎸🎸
The Spanish City was a dining and leisure location that had a fun park in Newcastle. The insperation for the song, Mark mentioned was when he was a teenager, spending the night with this girl he never saw again at the Spanish City and the inner reflection of looking back.
Making Movies was such a great album. My favorite song off the album was Expresso Love, but Tunnel of Love, Skateaway and Romeo and Juliet would be right up there, too.
Great performance, very entertaining, fun to watch. Good job Lilly, The band is good too.......Excellent pick Steve, for a long song it does not feel long. Love the musicianship. Both of you enjoy your day............................................................................list "New world man" by Rush......"You me and Mexico" by Edward Bear......."Romeo and Juliet" by Dire Straits
Hello, I am a new follower who has only recently seen your content but I love what you do, I am from a country at the end of the world called Chile and I would love for you to react to one of my favorite songs "smell like teen esprit" by Nirvana. thank you for your dedication.
Awesome fong and performance from my fav band. I believe that someday soon, Lilly will be learning to play real guitar, she's a quick study. Bright little lady. Thanks for reacting to this one.
Back in 1984, I was 17 years old, I made the negative from the artwork for the Brothers In Arms album, so it could be printed. Once they were printed, I had to trim 400 of them so they could be delivered to Phonogram Records, I also made the negative from the artwork for the original Band Aid single Do They Know It's Christmas. Glad to have found your Lovely channel, keep up the Great work.
Mark never plays the solo of this song the same. If you watch the Wembley version and the Alchemy version, you can hear the slight differences. My favorits is the Wembley version which slightly edges out the Alchemy version.
Another brilliant performance by Lilly Knopfler and grandad Steve Knopfler. My 3 favourite songs by Dire Straits Tunnel of love. Sultan's of Swing and Telegraph road. The Alchemy album is far better though possibly the sound has been auto tuned. Lady writer is a nice catchy little song similar to Tunnel of love.

Great songs, a real pity they get taken down. Have you tried Chris Rea's "Let's Dance" on her?
@@someonegetsteve I'm not even sure I've tried it on me Steve. 😄😄
My favorite DS song ... Mark is a guitar genius

Super song choice!
I saw Dire straits at my local college just before they got BIG.. Sultan of Swing wasn't even in the charts yet ...1978

Oh yes, I forgot that the calypso version of So Far Away was from this same concert. That's a great version of that song.
This is what's called an education 😊

Awesome song and performance...
