The Altrincham, Bury, Rochdale and East Didsbury branches are the fastest bits of metrolink because they use former railway alignments, which are fully off-road, except for the bit through Oldham, which got it's own little street tramway when the line was converted a few years ago. Between those lines, the street level bits between Victoria and St. Peter's Square are the slow bit until one day they hopefully put that part of the network in a subway tunnel like the ones you get in Liverpool and Newcastle with a 50mph speed limit.

The Hulme crescents were built as a 'Paradise' to replace the terraced housing and close community. They soon became concrete slums infested with cockroaches (I lived on Bonsall St for two yrs but was lucky to be able to move, there were old folk especially who never moved) All this new housing is thrown up quickly , it's bells and whistles imo, and can easily become useless in ten years

Once some kids asked me for a survey on media city and what was it like 10 years ago. I said it wasn't even built since 2008 or something and this was in 2017 so technically the teacher who set the questions did not even know when the media city was built and still let kids ask questions ..pathetic really

On the right of the video is the 2 lane outbound segment that runs parallel to the rail network, just before the Eccles slip road.
