Yes, read the scope user manual. Also, make sure your SCR circuit is isolated from the power mains, using an isolation transformer.

We will control the horizontal. We will control the vertical. Do not allow the waveform to enter The Outer Limits. 🤪

How easy to use, can you tell me how I can easily come up with the $8K needed to buy that R&S MXO 4 oscilloscope 🤣

I'm sorry but this video applies only to engineers and people in the field. or perhaps reach people (so a narrow class of select people only) For normal every day passionate hobbyists, this scope is simply unreachable due to the "extortionately high price tag". Why so expensive ? Same as the other big manufacturers such as Keysight Tektronix etc. So, I can only watch without ever being able to afford such equipment. Sad...

You are right. Being hamradio amateur, I share you toughts. However, behind the equipment on the field, there are some developers who do need such equipment to have in the lab.
From other hand on the field man can use about 0.1% of the equipment capabilities. Those units are for really developers and high skilled professionals, for sure well calibrated and indoor use.

Agreed. I’ll stick with my trusty 556. Does everything I need it to do.

High Tech Equipment always starts off at a high price but over the years this tech filters down into affordable equipment the average joe blow can buy and use.

@@stevenflogerzi1955 oh yeah, of course. There’s no way I could have afforded my stuff when it was new (I wasn’t born yet anyway) but it’s lab grade and cheap now.
