The detail on those monsters is pretty insane and horrifying. Still, there is something deeply intriguing about how artists are able to capture the essence of what creeps people out. A famous painter that did this well is Zdzisław Beksiński. Great video and recommendation

the author does a really good job of building tension towards the moment when the ghost appears
Yeah I totally agree, tbh I think he would be pretty good at writing a purely horror manga. With how creepy the monster designs are and how good he is at building tension I think that would be cool to see

I think Another was supposed to be a horror-comedy. I think the author said both are faces of the same coin.

I am really glad that UA-cam recommended this video to me. I've enjoyed the anime when it was airing a lot, but afterwards kind of forgot about it. But after watching your video I am definitely going to read the manga to see what happens next :)
