hi i thought more about the farm and i think it was called garside farm opposite where the primary school is the fields were called tennyson fields the owner or manager of the farm was called harry mellor
Thanks, Leonard. Bothering Strangers didn't get any further than the 'pilot'. We just stumbled upon our friend here and he was wearing a Tilly hat so reckoned he must be sound. Always a good idea to take a decent camera on a walk

the farm slightly opposite the pig on the wall was run by the mellors
