Awesome video Kevin I want it up doing this to my 1100. The previous owner deleted the chokes and had a primer kit and it was very hard to keep it idling and it did run very lean on the bottom and once I change them out and you let the ski warm-up for a few minutes in the water runs a lot better no hesitation off idle for two full throttle. I might need to adjust my screws a little bit but other than that runs awesome.

I have a 900stx. I rebuilt it 2 years ago. It is difficult to start cold. This way of changing the jet and leaning out the pilot jet seems like a lot more fuel and would cause it to run very rich. How does it work now that you finished and run the ski?

I never had one that would start well cold. Chris Carter youtube has an excellent video on building these carbs. The reason you replace the low speed jet is because they are lean from the factory. He explains this in the video. Mogyver69 also has a good video about these in 2 parts but he doesnt change those jets. Chris has the most experience and I trust his mechanical skills.

My last 2 ran very well after this mod, but cold starting was still done with a primer system.

Where do you buy carb rebuild kits for these. I just got a STX-R. I can find CDK kits but the CDCV ones seem to be non existent for oem kits.

The jet ski store in florida has them but they do not come with those large rubber diaphragms or the gasket that goes in the jet area.

Is that the same thing as a cdk-2

No. The CDCV is a constant velocity carburetor. The CDK2 is a much preferred carb over these. These have NO high speed adjustment screw because the high speed needle is attached to a rubber diaphragm
