- My favorite project of all time, after completing this my intentions were to make one for each of my four children's first daughter...well, my son in law heard that was my plans prior to their daughters birth..he requested a one bedroom efficiency, I think the size of this thing once it was done overwhelmed all my kids. The house remains at my house for touching with your eyes only....once my granddaughter is older and IF she can convince Mommy and Daddy, she can take this to her house. Not sure if I am going to make another one for my second granddaughter, still thinking about it.

I’ve always wanted a doll house and I’ve looked at several. Yours is really cute and makes me want one even more. I have some furniture already, because it’s so dang cute. 😁
Go look at hobby lobby. Their prices are the lowest for a RGT kit. Vermont Jr might be a good starting point. Yes... the initial reaction is Oh Crap..... but, read the instructions, and jump in.
I will be the first to admit. ... I have an addiction. Not ashamed on bit.
I was shocked by how expensive the kits were. I wound up building one from scratch. I made it into a Venetian palace with three floors. It came out beautifully. Lots of time and effort went into it but everyone who sees it is very impressed.
You also could do a video, l would love to see it!

Not only 18 month old kiddos need to be monitored around such a delicate creation. We have a 6 year old grandson that quickly, and quietly gets into things and we don’t realize it until he’s gone home.
Love your dollhouse. I too love all crafts and have a dollhouse, miniatures are great because you get to use all forms of crafting to make things for it. I have a couple of vids on some bedding I dressed recently for mine. TFS

I have a doll house that I got from Hobby Lobby. When I worked there they had 2 of the same doll houses that where already built so I got a really good deal. When I was 18 I got into a club that each month they would send you a kit to build a piece of furniture. Well now I'm 59 years old, still have the furniture (not Built) and seeing your doll house has motivated me to do mine. Thank you. I love it!

That is adorable. I just love it. I’ve always wanted a dollhouse but never gotten one. My one sister got her a kit and it gorgeous too. I love the mini furniture. You have major skill. The curtains are awesome. Every time I goes into a craft store and see a dollar house I wish I had one. Maybe one day I can get one of my own. I’ve been wanted one for so long that I was buying mini furniture. I finally gave it to my sister for her dollhouse. Every time I go and visit her I just stop and look at it like it was the first I seen it.
You should get one for yourself. Sometimes you can find them at thrift stores or flea markets already built, or Facebook marketplace if you do that. I bought a kit decades ago for $20, didn't include shingles, and never built it, but later found that exact house built and finished in a consignment shop . 😁🏠. Husband got it for me $75. Floors done, wallpaper, it's only four rooms but they even built a little fireplace.. I hear that Real Good Toys brand us the easiest to assemble, pretty sure this house is one of theirs

Love it! I built my daughters a doll house years ago and did it all from scratch with a design I drew on paper! I did all the shingles, cut by hand, siding, windows, stairs, flooring tiles, you name it! I loved doing it! It took me a year!!!!! What is really funny is that once I started on it I was so obsessed with it that I couldn't wait to get it done, it took me ONE week to complete it...I stayed up til 3 a.m. everyday for a week because I was toooooooo impatient to make this a project, I wanted it done once I started...my granddaughter is only four so she doesn't get to actually play with it yet but I will NEVER part with it, I am so happy wIth the way it came out but I don't think I will ever do it again.....:o)

Awesome job! Glad you stuck with it! Seems you are, too! When you got to the story at the end, all that rang out was "18 mo old" and "doll house"! I was like, ohhhh nooooo!! Half the fun is the hunt, though, on furniture and such. Been killing my bank acct on eBay! Haven't started building mine yet but already looking at additions for it. Yes, they sell actual house additions, garages, 1 and 2 story, small to wide, etc... and they should blend into the main house very well! Possibilities are endless! There are also furniture kits you can build and stain/paint yourself. You seem to have the patience for it! Might want to invest in a piece of plexiglass for your back opening if you plan on leaving it there! Lol Great job on everything! Very real!

Fabulous work but I gotta tell you, your explanations of trying to pack 1000's of pieces back in the box to return the house to the store and the story of your grandson had me rolling in tears. I can only imagine the look on your face after Will had a go at rearranging your house.

you should try the Beacon Hill Dollhouse, now that is a kit in a million pieces LOL I was terrified but finally put it together! hahah!
You can put a clasp and lock on that side door, so children can't get in from that angle. You can also have a piece of plexiglass cut to size so it fits as a "fourth wall" on the house. You can drill it in discrete locations and use small screws to hold it in place. Then those little hands won't be able to get in at all. You will probably also want to put a breaker strip cover over your light and power box.
A child older than your grandson once utterly wrecked a room box I had on display. Hand built, one-of-a-kind items, antiques and heirlooms, all smashed to smithereens. She also dived into my dollhouse head first and began ripping things that had been glued or otherwise anchored in. I could save most of the dollhouse, but none of the room box. It was heartbreaking.
Since then, the rule is that no one touches my dollhouses except myself. And any child who puts a hand into my dollhouses will be duct taped to a wall.
I love this and want to hang out with you.....I'm so inspired now. Grew up loving dollhouses. My mom bought me a beautiful Victorian dollhouse one Xmas and I played with it for years. It tore my soul to take it down when I became a teen, because I didn't think it looked "cool". I wish I could turn back time........

Very beautiful. I have now built 3 dollhouses from Hobby Lobby. They are a bear to build but I love it. I have yet to try the one you have. It's very addictive once you start. Yours is absolutely beautiful and you did wonders with it after little Will 'evicted' you from the house. ;P
Love it! I’m going to take the Time to make one for my Granddaughter. She’s so excited about helping me. I’m researching the “How To” shopping around for furniture. We’re making the Barbie Doll House. I’ve bought her the Barbie Dream House and we have lots of tea parties. I’ve always wanted a Doll House as well but there were five girls In a household and I never got on. I’ve made one when I was actually in high school. You’re too much of a baby if I would have shared that information. I’ve used papers dolls and glued them to some cardboard. So I can relate with your story. I’ll post it when completed. Thankful

This was my first miniature doll house too. I bought my first at a miniature store.The 2nd one I bought at Hobby Lobby too. I am now working on it now.I'm just taking my time finshing mine. I love my little house. Miniature houses are not just for kids, as my mom thinks. Like you I always wanted a miniature house and waited till my kids were grown up. I have other miniature houses too. I painted mine blue with white trim . And miniatures .com have lots of miniatures for sale too .Have fun

Oh my gosh this so made me laugh! NOT at U, but at myself. In the '80's I wanted 1 too. Well my hubby at the time bought me 1 for Christmas. It was a 3 story PLUS attic 14 room house. He paid on sale $150 or more for it. We tried to take it back & they said NO. Took him 2 years to get it up & after about $1,000 it was only half done. I ended up selling it at a yard sale for $100 & was glad to get rid of it YOURS IS GORGEOUS & I give you so much credit 4 doing it not once but twice! XoXo jonnie

Here's a craft project idea for your dollhouse, which I'm in the process of doing for the inside of mine: Take family photos, scan them and then resize them very small, then print them out. You can either make square wooden picture frames and glue them around the photos, or you can find other things in the jewlery section of a craft store that look like photo frames and glue the photos to those. I just framed a half scale photo of my dad when he was a baby and I put it in the baby's room... Now I'm scanning photos of all my past away relatives and hanging them in varioius rooms.

You did a great job for your first doll house these these dollhouses most of them are from Green leaf. And basically you just get all the pieces you literally have to build it yourself. I’m on my third one you can even use your imagination and building him like how to trim them. And if you could build this then your good. Go on Google and search Greenleaf doll houses you’ll see all the kits you can build and I’m sure cheaper

great doll house for first timer! where in the world did you get the vcuum cleaner? lol never have seen that at all. like you this is an old hobby. apparently my mother wanted doll house, she never had means to get me one either, but my daughter got a kit for her second or 3rd Christmas that I had to put together. this was 40 yrs ago it was a plaything and nothing fancy. it still sets in basement. when I got granddaughters I made a simpler box house for their playtime another 10,15 20 yrs is going by. while recuperating from knee replacement a friend overseas posted pics of doll houses and also hooked me up to Pinterest. I was kinda bored with scrapbooking and stamping by now and this hooked me. I ordered a house and it sat and sat. found one at garage sale for 5.00 been looking forward to working on it with all of the new stuff and new ideas. finally am tackling it. last night I opened the one I ordered and like you it has millions of pieces uh oh. but am so enamored of this new world..yrs ago there was no polymer clay, no Cricut, no dremel tool, no color printers, and most of all no Pinterest and You tube. sorry for the chatter....

Thank you Morella. I got the kit at Hobby Lobby on sale 50% off, I believe it was around $200. It took me a week make because once I got started I couldn't stop, stay up all night working on it. LOL. I love it.

livy scorci When I got mine and emptied the box I wanted to shove everything back and return it. WOW, thousands of pieces but I got the house done in one week. Stayed up pretty much every night working on it. It was soooooooo much fun.

it's okay needs more flower pots in windows roof should be gray like the rest of it not white it also needs curtains on all the windows so the front of house would look homier and I dont know why there is a sink next to the bed!
LOL, are you serious??? Its a doll house. My seamstress wasn't available to complete my curtains and the sink is actually in the master bath off of the bedroom however if one of my grandkids accidentally placed it incorrectly I will make sure they put it back where it belongs. As far as the windows I will see if I can have some mini blinds put up so that in the evening when the lights are on we can pull the blinds closed.
