Robert Manzone all the instruments on here sound ALOT cleaner and harder hitting but the vocals dont come close to the first version in my opinion. i like them both tho. i just wish i could put the old vocals on this version and itd be perfect!

Pretty sad that people bitched to Alex to the point he didnt want to be apart of the band anymore...people forget the reason they started liking the band. Alex will forever be the true vocalist of Chelsea Grin, been a die hard fan of CG since DOE..but stopped cause the bands not the same without Alex, so until Alex comes back IF he comes back at some point, ill stick to old school CG..I did give their new vocalist a chance but he's not in the slightest better than Alex imo.
Alex left the band because depression i think, not because the people.

+Scott Smith It's a horrible way to start off a song, because right off the bat you know it's gonna be simplistic and generic deathcore. The album has been out for about a week now, and Skin Deep is the only good song on it, in my opinion.

+Donteatmepls In my opinion, it's their worst album. It's not terrible, the songwriting isn't bad and the production is decent. There just aren't a lot of actual riffs on here, and a lot of the lyrics are somewhat childish. It's overall just not very memorable.

There's actually some difference in the drums on the album version, not just mixing either. There's some different and more epic fills. And the pinch harmonic after the first chorus sounds so much better in my opinion.

I prefer this mixing over the original. This sounds chunky and heavy as hell, especially with the drums, whereas the single was more sharp and kind of static in some parts. Not to mention the drumming on this version is slightly different (in a good way). Some of the fills are a bit more technical and the toms just sound perfect to me. The bass is still audible, so all you guys complaining about the new mix should still be happy about that. The bass is still nuts on the ears.
Sorry but this version sucks, the production makes it just sound like they were trying to get air time on Kerrang radio, it sounds all compressed and shit, the original was much more bleak and raw and the screaming vocals actually sounded more impactful imo

The first version was better, I've never complained about the mix but this is just too different, its not horrible but when I buy the whole album, I'm not using this version.

The guitar tones are better, but the old version seemed better. Especially with the clean/light overdriven guitars
this version sounds like absolute shit. (NOT THE SONG ITSELF). it just sounds like the quality was butchered.
Never heard the old version, can't say anything about a comparison. It gets muddy at some points, but I like it tbh. Full sound, good use of vocals.
But of course, on every riserecords video ever made ever, there's always the same people "rise ruins everything >:(((((( !!!!!" like lmao why are you STILL watching rise videos then, i mean COME ON lmao. it's been the same comments for a couple of years now. like idk why i have to sift through all the same mediocre critiques just bc a band changed their sound and happen to be signed with rise.

Sounds... alright. Was hoping they'd go back to their more Blackened Deathcore sound they had on My Damnation. These vocals are painful to listen to, though. He just can't scream like he used to. Probably time to find a new vocalist, honestly.

Your heaviness shakes the core of my subconscious. I notice in the short amount of time listening to you guys each album gets better and better definitely a sign of a talented band and band that cares about its creation. Has anyone who is complaining heared how the mix destroyed ashes to ashes? At the end of their studio update 1 is a clip from angels shall sin and it sounds so heavy, nothing like the album version. The change here is nothing compared to it

They've refined the vocals in some parts of this version, theres drum parts that have been changed and the guitar part you hear at first has been changed, but after comparing this and the original, the original was better. I understand that the original was released as a one off and the rest of the album was being recorded and mixed after the original got released, but this version ruins the song on general, when I hear this version I just hear mistakes.
