Hello again, the way you cut the first contouring dart and and then You flipped that part how much should I flip parallely. Because in your video I can't able to see correctly. Thank you. Please tell me. It will be very helpful for me. ❤️
Hello, Sufiya. For the time being, can you click on the video quality to "1080". If you are referring at what i was doing at 2:53, you just need to make sure that the line you have cut touches or meets the other line of contour guide #1 (at 2:55). You will tape it once these two lines touch. This is also the same process when closing contour guides #2 and #3. "Lines should touch" is the rule when contouring , and only after that can you "redraw the armhole / neckline". Please let me know if I have answered your question 🙂. Take care and enjoy creating.
@@BobbinAndDrew Now I understand that part. Thanks for your support. I have a question regarding princess seam bodice block is that if I want to make boat neck on that so which contour guide no. should I follow. Again thank you so much for your quick response 😊😊. Your bodice blocks are very very good from others. Because I tried most of them but the result was not satisfying. I am very thankful to you. ❤️
Hello, Sufiya... Always keep in mind to draw in "ALL" the countour guides on your block especially if you are starting out with the principle of contouring. This applies to "ALL" and "ANY" design you might have. Eventually you'll get used to it and can do shortcuts on which guides you need to transfer/draw in. Once you have all contour guides marked, decide on the design of your bodice. In the boat neck that you mentioned, you can now start on drawing the neckline. And when you contour guide #1, the intake can be so tiny that you will realize that you can almost skip contouring (taping it can take 1/16" or 1/8"). Remember WHEN and HOW of CG#1: this is for lowered neckline. See, for boat neck designs, the neckline does not get too low... that's why I mentioned you can skip it. However, do not forget the 'Shoulder Slope' contour guide so that the shoulder seam lays perfectly on the shoulder. How do you plan the sleeves of the boat neck design? If you are going for sleeveless, then it calls for contour guide #2, 3, and Side Ease... Also, are you keeping the princess seam to the armhole? If that's the case and you want a better fit under the bust, then contour guide #4 is our best friend here (3/8" in total ; or 3/4"... you will decide). But if you do not want a fitted bodice, then there is no need for contour guide #4. It is really up to you as a designer to use these contour guides depending on your design and what look you are going for. We contour only to eliminate gapping 😊 ... If we want loose fitting, by all means we can forget all about contouring. Thank you so much, Sufiya, for appreciating the content on my channel. I always want to upload tutorials and reach other designers and dressmakers who share the same interest and passion. You always have relevant questions left for me on the comment section and it warms my heart everytime we have this exchange. Take care, Sufiya...
@@BobbinAndDrew Now I understand. Thank u for your kind reply for every question that I ask. Keep going like this way you will be successful and Allah bless you and keep ready to answer my next question 😁😁

Yes, Kiran. Use the back bodice block and if you require sleeveless design you need to apply the contouring for the back. All masters were once beginners. And we learn a lot from mistakes and challenges than perfection. ❤ Take care and enjoy creating.
Thanks for sharing. This was so easy to follow. Will it be possible to add centimetres in brackets please so that those who use centimetres like some of us, we do not have a huzzle of coverting, overall, this was very helpful.
I love your all pattern making videos... And I have tried also..but actually I have no idea how to calculate dart according to body measurement... Will you please explain about dart length and width from body measurement.
Hi! How about the back bodice? How to turn it into princess seam? My bodice pattern also has shoulder darts which i want to remove so i will only have a princess seam

Hey! Such a great video! I just got a little bit confused, in the bodic block video you left in the description, the pattern has a dart that goes from the top of the should to the bust line, but the one you used for this doesn't have. It is a different pattern? If i wanna make it, i just have to skip that dart that goes from the shoulder? Thanks!
Hello ma'am Would you please tell me the basic bodice block pattern in your video that will very helpful for me to understand. I like the way of your working.
Hi Sufiya, I am currently editing a video content to show how to draft the basic bodice block. It will be uploaded tomorrow.... thank you for your comment and support, Sufiya. Take care.

Notice the green marking for the neckline touches the contour guide (red) before I taped it (at 2:55)

Yes, Kiran.
Use the back bodice block and if you require sleeveless design you need to apply the contouring for the back.

Hi Guilherme, the dart coming from the top of the shoulder will have to be transferred and manipulated to the waist so you only have 1 dart.
