Chris' pitch for Joker is fine in a timeline where deconstructions haven't destroy soo many legacy characters.

Gunn doesn't like superhero comics. He makes movies for the normies and tourists who think superheroes are just silly kids stuff that doesn't matter.
@@Ewil.Bluetooth Nailed it. Superhero mythology is essentially western mythology. It’s not so dissimilar from that of the Greeks or Romans; and we all know how modern Hollywood views western society and culture.
Gunn has one movie that he makes: "ragtag group of weirdos team up and fight a wacky villain". That's every movie he does. Guardians, S Squad, Peacemaker and it'll be the same with Superman.

Saturday my wife and I binged movies from our prime time, including Scary Movie 2, The Brady Bunch movie, and one other that got washed outby those 2.
I at this point don't watch new movies anymore and just watch old movies that came out before I was born and I am 19. So disappointing that you can't even enjoy things from your time

As someone who hasn’t watched the Oscars in well over a decade, I would definitely watch Ricky Gervais roast Hollywood for 3 hours, which coincidentally would be more time than I’ve spent in a movie theater in the past year.

Deckard is not a replicant there is no debate, even in terms of the movie, it would totally F&*king ruin the point of the film and several characters characterization. I would have loved another Blade Runner movie, but the issue is they cannot just let the original characters alone, they could have completely explored someone else's story or if you wanted Deckard cast someone young and show him in his prime solving cases.

I don't understand Chris's answer to the TLJ super chat. How could Luke have a redemption arc in the next movie if he died at the end?
Perhaps he meant that he was thinking about Luke’s possible upcoming redemption arc prior to the end of TLJ, which then eliminated that possibility, though Chris did not clarify.
@@josephbrown9685 He sounded like he was talking as if TROS ruined TLJ. Maybe he's still coasting on that first viewing and never reflected on how bad that movie is. Chris is a lot kinder than pretty much everyone else who appears on Gary's channel.

Joker 2 has a number of issues, most of them relating to how big a stretch it is. The lead actor and director had little to no interest in doing it. Then someone said, let's make it a musical. Then, they needed a plot. And we know the narrator is unreliable going in.
I don't remember the last time I went to the cinema. There's been nothing I wanted to pay that much to have ruined by noisy kids in the seats at the front.
Joker 2 is a joke. And not a funny one.

Back to the Future trilogy vs Indiana Jones trilogy is possibly the most difficult choice in movie history. They are so similar with first movies that are essentially perfect, sequels that are weaker and weirder but good, and finales that are a little unbalanced though ultimately satisfying conclusions.
Zack Snyder didn't need anyone to sabotage his Justice League. He already sabotaged DC's chance at a cinematic universe by making the worst Superman movie ever made.
I'm glad Rebel Moon helped people realize he's a trash filmaker.
Watchmen though, that was great! 300 was pretty good too.
Man if Steel is the best superhero movie of them all. It's a true comicbook movie.
Great characters, great villain, great effects, great super fights and it all looks great.

He identifies more with the aliens than he does with the family that raised him and allows his father to die from something he could've easily prevented, at no cost to himself. On top of that, he repeatedly allows people to die around him throughout the entire movie while he either stands there dramatically or while he makes out with Lois Lane.
Zodd is a moron. He wants to terraform a planet that gives his people superpowers under the justification that it causes them pain for literally 5 minutes. He's a brainlet genocidal idiot with extremely thin race-based motivations.
Visuals are obviously subjective, but I encourage you to rewatch the movie because it looks significantly worse than any Marvel-equivalent at the time.
@@daviru02 Having recently rewatched Watchmen, it was okay; not as good as I remember. I would say 300 is probably his best movie if I had to choose.
I still sorta like Man of Steel. It was a competent but not as good remake of Superman 2 with a few dumb scenes. Now Batman v Superman was just a stinking pile of trash that expanded on every negative aspect of Man of Steel as a movie. Watched it twice ,both versions, got a migraine each time. It's the marvel equivalent of if Iron Man 2, Captain America 1, Black Widow, Civil War, and The Avengers was crammed into one long movie to play catch up with the rival comic book company's cinematic universe..
So at the end of Joker he is in Arkham but for me he seems more confident in himself! Talking to the shrink laughing at a joke she wouldn't understand walking away with bloodstains on the floor! This crap! WTF! They completely destroyed Arthur build him up then tear him down 😡 it is a BIG FU TO THE FANS!

Why so much hate for Blade Runner 2049 it's one of the best sequels ever made.

Maybe they hate it because they are part of the fans who desperately believed that Deckard was a replicant. So they hate the sequel because it doesn't align with their fanfiction. Some are like that but I guess there are others as well.

I agree Chris - I didn't love Last Jedi at first and I hated that they killed off Luke. But I was optimistic and assumed Rise of Skywalker would begin with Luke properly training Rey. I also thought Kylo Ren was setup to go full dark side and I was hype for what he would be in the last film. Lastly, I thought they had setup Rey to be a force birth correction (same as Anakin) and I thought that was the best route for her. Of course none of that happened at all and I hate Rise of Skywalker with a burning passion.
All disney star wars content is garbage. The underlying themes are garbage. Because its made by uneducated morons. That basically sums up why it was all unworthy and irredeemable. I was massively let down by the force awakens. The prequels i loved as much as the originals. The eu also suffered from bad philosophy. Lucas had depth. For better or worse. If you disagree its only because younger generations now conform to sterilized information and may never know what was lost in translation. Its all available of course, but you dont learn the same way either. That explains perfectly any support for anything disney did
@@azurebadger It's easy to play revisionist history now but I think a lot of people saw potential in what was setup in Force Awakens. I remember that Knights of Ren flashback shot in the rain was one of the sickest shots i'd ever seen in a Star Wars movie ever at the time. Of course what it led to was crap but none of us knew that at the time. And a lot of people were optimistic of the Disney Lucasfilm purchase based on the success of the MCU at the time.

Han went from general and hero to vagrant. Luke made 0 sense. Thats how it went. I was also excited to step into the theater for awakens. Within 15 min. Disappointment sank it. Thats because the meaning of what was being shown, as we all now know in hind sight, was the byproduct of degrading generations of socially engineered people who rejected the profound cultural heritage they inherited, without manifesting the intellectual ability rendered in its knowing.

@@IndianaJakeIt was mostly young people who hadn't seen the original movie. The ones who had saw that the script for force awakens was just a straight rip off of the original. It wasn't a sequel but a "remastered" reboot. Add that to killing off Solo. Not using Luke, and bastardizing his character.

I think there's some rose tinted glasses with Blade Runner. The best part was the monolog at the end, the rest was pretty good to forgettable. I enjoyed 2049 and have watched it more than the original at this point. All that said, you guys should have spoiled Joker 2 because it deserves it. Thankfully, there are people who are posting spoilers, so if anybody is interested & don't want to wait until the Friday show, go do a search.
Yeah, I don't get the hate from some people for 2049. I think it's great. The visuals and sounds are fantastic. Even the villain is done great even though she's a bossbabe. Great acting.
