That ending sequence is still one of my favorites in all the OG Bleach series.. very creepy, scary, and disturbing with Hiyori's Hollow voice, sound effects and the screeching sound at the end...
something alot of people in the community i feel not enough people talk about is the design of the hollow masks. We saw shinji's mask kinda looks like a pharaohs because he has some sort of leadership role within the vizards, and hiyori's has a single horn because her personality is like a little devil so what will ichigos mask show about him?
I'm loving watching your journey with bleach, i cannot wait for you to see what happens later on in the story ;D

Ichigo's not even a Visored (a Shinigami who obtained Hollow powers). I've never understood the Visored's fixation on him joining them since he's not one, he's something _more_ since we know at this point that he's at least human, shinigami and hollow. It's amazing how few fans questioned what the hell Ichigo is, how Isshin could have a human child since gigai are supposed to be sterile or how Ichigo got hollow powers since the shattered shaft would have made him a hollow _or_ a shinigami not both.
Censorship:
-Grimmjow has much less blood on his face, with most of his injury being a light burn instead.
-Tōsen severing Grimmjow's arm is grayscaled.
-The stump of Grimmjow's left arm does not bleed while on-screen, and the blood on the floor is in shadow.

This allows one to gain tremendous power if their Hollowfication can be controlled, which is personified by an "inner Hollow" reflection of the person in their inner world. A Hollow-like mask appears when entering this state. The term is synonymous with the act of donning a Hollow mask.
By gaining the strength of a Hollow, one's Reiryoku increases dramatically. Only those who have control over their inner Hollow can Hollowfy. It manifests itself as a unique mask of different shapes and designs.
When Ichigo's Hollow powers started to increasingly manifest while not under his control, Shinji explains Ichigo's conflict with his inner Hollow is a common symptom other Visored had to deal with at one point or another in order to master their abilities.

A Twofold Dislocation Barrier (二重断層結界, Nijū Dansō Kekkai) that erases whatever is within it from existence and removes the space it takes up from an outsider's inner consciousness, making it so one cannot even perceive its presence. The very thought of getting close to it does not even occur to those outside it. It is so powerful and unique in composition, it cannot be undone by Shinigami Kidō.

I imagine Aizen must get very bored sitting on that throne all day in front of all those blank walls. The abridged series makes him do realistic things when you are all powerful and bored. Like use Kyogasuigetsu to troll his subordinates.
