Making a 3 way blast gate for shop vac dust collector
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 сер 2024
- I made this triple dust collector blast gate for my new mobile workstation to allow switching between the table saw - router insert and one additional hose for example to connect my random orbit sander or a vacuum hose without the need to swap the connections when i need to use them.it connects to my shop vac that has a turn on automatic where I plug in an extension cable where I can connect every power tool, so whenever I turn on a tool the shop vac turns automatically on. The build video for the mobile workstation is coming soon!
Thank you very much for watching!

Great idea .. how is it working after some use? Any clogging or maintenance needed?
I will reply back as soon as I notice something! I just finished it yesterday.!
Thanks for the quick reply. It looks like it will be just fine except that small needed gap to slide the selector.
Yes, i don't think it effects the suction too much.
Interesting idea! Looking forward to seeing you at Makers Central.
Thanks! :)
Almost threw my phone across the room swearing loud enough to wake the neighborhood, just installed a Y fitting from Rockler yesterday that I had to modify to work, with 2 of those ABS blast gates. Now I'm just mad. But this is a fantastic job on your end.
Haha! Thanks!
Great addition to the workshop! 👍🏻
Thanks man! Yes it is!
well done mister! about time someone made a 3way valve!
Thanks Man! Yeah I haven't seen one either.

Very cool idea, thank you for sharing your amazing video
Thanks for watching Carsten!
Nice shop upgrade. I always struggle with a good setup for dust collection. Mostly because I'm a disorganized mess.
Thanks Chad! Haha!

du bist ein cleverer kerl👍 und einmal mehr ein super spannendes video!
Danke dir Lukas!
Very nice!
Very good mate
Brilliant! I dig it.
Thanks dude!
The concept is phenomenal, and the build looked good. The one problem I see if the side of the pipe fitting are reducing from the hose. Problably won't matter much with the smaller tools like the sander, but with the table saw... Vacuumed air does not compress, your limit is the smallest point. Again, thebuild and concept were great.
Haven’t got any trouble so far with either of those.
Nice build 👍👍👍
Thanks Nick!
cool. Thanks for showing
Danke fürs ansehen Sascha!
Good job

Gefällt mir 👍
Dankeschön Nobby!
That's cool! ... also - I have the same table saw as you and was wondered if you could show your zero clearence insert? and how you made it. Also - you don't seem to be getting much dust spewing out? I get loads! .. have you taped up the holes?
very good idea
Thanks Mike!
how are you getting on with your table saw?
Your workspace is very well thought out, are you going to do a workshop tour soon?
Thank you! Honestly every video is a workshop tour. All of the things here have a video and there is not much to see in this 4m x 4m garage. But maybe someday when clean up my "metalworking" shop.
He deffnetliy should do.
Ja das ist ja mal eine super Idee🤔
Dankeschön!
Die Idee kann man beliebig erweitern solang alles einigermaßen dicht ist. Grüße Arne
👍👍👍 👏
How did you make the zero clearance insert for the tabel saw can you make a video of it?
Its just a 3mm board with some plywood glued on the bottom for strength.
Did the design produce any extra noise like standing waves? Build looks great!
Thanks! No I didn't notice any change.
normaly not. just take care that everything is snug fit. if not you will get a noise and reduced suction.
What happened with the silent on the end part of the video? :D
The blast gate also works as a mute button !
hoo I see... haha nice
Зачет +1. =)
Thanks!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Complete different way to build but same result :D my video will follow in some days. so you can compare :D
