I quite like this foundation. I have very dry, mature skin and prep really well with moisturizing products underneath. It looks lovely on my skin and lasts all day but it is summer here at moment(Australia) I don't know if I will like it as much in winter. I wouldn't say it is full full coverage but close. I apply with brush then sponge.
Foundations oxidising is my pet peeve. So many high end foundations do: Estee Lauder, Lancome, clinique all turn orange on me. My cheap Maybelline hydrating foundation somehow manages to stay exactly same shade in the bottle and on my skin. Your eye makeup is really pretty 😍
Ok so I have watched the video and I am sad to say not going to purchase this. One of the main reasons is I have to wear a mask everyday at work, and I don’t think it will hold up. Just from you touching your face, I know it won’t😩but great video and thanks for saving me some money🤣🤣
The only item I had used from KVD has been the eyeliners tattoo water proof liquid liner, they are so nice for wings and they last a long time, I have brands that I love to buy items from but for some reason KVD has never been one of my favorite brands or even one of my interests no matter what they release I always skip them. I think we all in our minds have preferences but I am not sure why this brand does not interest me at all. What a great detailed review!! I was tempted to try this but shade matching vs. oxidizing drives me nuts. I may go into the store to see it in person. I have too many expensive foundations right now that I can't seem to get to work for me...the Haus Labs being the newest 🙁
Same here. Our winters almost always suck. In fact the kids had a snow day today and I just came back from Florida myself. It was hard to come back ngl 🤣
I didn’t like it either on my combo oily skin, I’m in the UK so cold and dry weather and on my oily areas it was ok but looked super dry and felt tight on my cheeks and perimeter of my face where I have more normal skin and I never have the tight skin feeling with my mature skin so this was a bummer!
Tara you just saved me some $$ Thank you! I'm in So Ca and could never understand why when I visit my kids in AK my dry skin just goes over the top! Peeling, flaking! Scares my granddaughter. I didn't realize that cold weather dries out the skin! Learn something new every day :)
Hi 😊 I absolutely ❤ this foundation! I have normal to dry skin and it is perfect on me. It wears all day long and it does not break down anywhere, I do work in small sections at a time with just tiny dots and it really looks beautiful from when I put it on to when I take it off. It’s a holy grail for me! I’m sorry It didn’t work out for you.
Oof, if you have dry skin in Utah winter and it’s not holding up, those of us with combo skin in New England aren’t going to stand a chance. How are they putting “transfer proof” in the name if even your HAIR will disrupt it? Thanks for this, I’ll stick to my tried-and-true foundations.
What do you mean when you say "pull/break away from [your] skin?" That it comes off? Transfers? Gets streaky? Forms cracks? Or do you mean something like "sits on top" of the skin, i.e. doesn't properly melt in / adhere to your skin as if there's a barrier?
It definitely transfers, but it also pulls away from the skin. It initially melts and adheres to the skin. But, as the natural oils come through the skin, it starts to break up the foundation and it begins to sit on top of the skin. That's when it can transfer easily, and can be patchy in the more oily parts of the face. 😁🩷 Hope that helps🙏
I have to say that I had to return this foundation it just made my fine lines and show and made my skin so dry I had to take the make up off not in love with it
I also like the good apple cream foundation but I will not be purchasing this liquid version. I have dry skin and I live in a drier climate that it only humid seasonally. I’d like a sample before I commit to a whole bottle.

I got this foundation and like it quite a bit. I struggled with the shade though and have to use a white pigment to lighten it a bit. Which, I’m not super mad at and I’m pretty sure it will work better in the summer. I have oily skin and used the Danessa Myricks blurring balm (universal) as a primer or the urban decay all nighter luminous primer. I really appreciate how thorough you are with your reviews. Love ya bunches!
I find it cracked something horrible after 4 hours. I tried it with various primers and the whole thing was a fail. It really sunk into smile lines and creased horribly as well. I have combo skin. Into the bin with this one
I've got to say, I love that you clearly list your skin type, age and foundation preferences - it's so useful 👌 This is a pass for me, I don't want to work so hard to get a product, any product, to perform. Because you mentioned that there's a "lot of great long wearing foundations, I'd really, REALLY love to know the ones you would recommend for different ages and, possibly, skin types. I have my daughters graduation in a few months and, obviously, I want to look as good as possible 🥴. Thank you so much for your honest review - I’m Australian and live in a very humid climate - I had high hopes for this foundation too but because I bought my shade online, I picked one that was way too light for me, so I mix it with my HUda Beuaty in a shade that is too dark - I like the finish once applied, but when I start to apply other products on top of it, the foundation just seems to come off - I saw a similar review from Casey Holmes - I have combination skin and I am 54 and I LOVE full coverage foundations as I have pigmentation etc… but so far this is not working for me either 😞
I once read that if you are in a very dry climate place you cannot use hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid usually pulls moisture from the air but if it doesn’t find it there it will pull it out of your skin. Not sure if this is true but my sister in law didn’t like the way it made her face feel and she lived in Colorado.

Then, when he got home we both got Covid and were not able to take down the trees until last weekend. But, they're officially down👏👏👏 🤣

Tara I have oily skin I use Estee launder double wear when I not using Tret and doing peels. I used IT SPF 50 i LOVE IT BUT IT SEPERATES? I tried lady Gaga foundation and it stays on all day. Do you have any suggestions on a foundation for me when my skin is peeling because I cannot use Matte on those days. Thanks so much
I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and the weather + oily skin type makes this foundation a BIG NO for me. I will try the balm formula , because it's on sale in Sephora Brazil and we are getting into fall/ winter season. Will not melt with the sun hit . Love your reviews and comments!

Soooo what I have found is that the people who love the balm, don't like this formula. However, the people who did not like the balm at all, are in love with this formula. Which is genius and makes complete sense! There is no reason to have 2 different foundations in the same line that perform the same for the same skin types. This gives those that didn't get along well with the balm (it just sat on my skin and came off every time I barely touched my face), can use this one. This one has the opposite reaction on my face. It fuses with my skin, and if I forget to wash my face at night, it is still on the next morning. It lasts better on me than ELDW. So crazy how things work differently based on skin types and needs. ❤️ Thank you for the review!!

Coloured face powder can make oxidisation much worse for some reason. A colourless powder like the RCA white looking powder helps to stop this
