It's 2023 and I saw them play this live with the Brooklyn bridge in the background in NYC.
These guys carried me through some deep water. Forever grateful, and so pleased to see them together after so many years.
i feel stupid clapping in front of my computer screen but the improv stuff made this performance feel so intimate and cozy

This Band sounds really good, I don't understand why they don't have more microphones, must be a limitation of the folks who set up the venue, I'm sure if the musicians themselves set up they would have arranged it better, I'm sure more mike's would have greatly improved the sound quality, even though it sounds good as is.
Raymond Perez Nah they choose to play like that on purpose at small venues. If the musicians are good enough (which they are in this case) they can balance themselves well. The only reason the sound quality isn't the best in the video is that it's not directly from their mic. It's just being recorded by the camera's microphone after playing out of the PA. I'm sure it sounded great at the venue.
Your Probably right I wasn't there and they did sound good as I commented, I wish I could see more of Bands like this here in Chicago where I live, but that's our loss.
Raymond Perez I had considered that also because I've recorded quite a few live Band's in the last several months and as you said I was very disappointed with my limitations, when I couldn't get the sound right because I didn't have the ability to record directly from the source the mic I used was not up to the task, and I was too inexperienced to compensate for it, I have a better mic now and my recordings are sounding much better, but I still have a lot to learn about editing the video's
smeltnight2002 Lol. This is a matrix. Meaning soundboard feed with a pair of mics in the crowd. No on cam mic for me. Sound is good. Not sure what ya'll are commenting on.
Raymond Perez I'm sure the slightly muted upper range sound is being caused by the video recording device here. That microphone is designed specifically for acoustic performances and does its job exceptionally well and for the price it should, it costs more than most people earn in a month. This is a gem of a video!
