Okay, I have several things to say: 1. You deserve every bit of recognition you get and more. You are honestly one of the best creators I have seen and I can't wait to see the other videos you have planned! 2. Thank you for being one of the best creators out there. Your videos are honestly one of the things that give me comfort from all of the bad memories that I have. I am very grateful for being able to see you grow! 3. Your fighting has seriously improved so much! I was watching your older videos and it's so cool to see how much you have improved! Keep growing. 4. Never stop what makes you happy. I really hope whatever you do is something that makes you happy! I hope you continue to grow as a content creator Amish! I will always be subed to this channel!
I respect your passion man, both in creating videos and playing this game. Seeing Skilled players like is inspiring but I have already given up on the game, but not your videos they are still fun to watch
Hey Amish, congrats!! It's about time, you bring a lot more to the community than your sub count reflects, as nice as 6K is. Here's to 6K more! Also, I find Ultras an interesting case that I also need to learn a lot more about. But if it helps, here's what I know from my experience: Don’t be afraid to use that running attack, it’s one of the fastest move on an UGS. Along with rolling attacks, it’s one of your best tools to condition panic rolls in your opponent. Using UGS in the neutral is all about moving and acting unpredictably, and catching someone with a fast attack like that can condition them to mistime their rolls. And that opens up opportunities for a high damage followup, like an R2 rollcatch or a backstab. Regarding the use of thrust R2s, I’d say they’re one of your best initiators, perhaps even better than R1s. The charge time on a thrust is a great mixup option, and staggered thrust R2s are an incredible rollcatch tool. You can also land an R2 after a running/rolling attack, after you’ve started conditioning your opponent into queuing their rolls. And keep in mind your R2s make for great wakeup options. If you land a plunge attack, you can get a fully charged R2 on wakeup (!!!) if they queue the wakeup roll immediately. This makes it one of your best ambush options for an invasion, capitalizing on the surprise of a plunge with two massive hits of burst damage for the kill. A similar wakeup opportunity also exists with hornet ring backstabs, with similarly deadly results. Finally, with dealing with the frustration of Ultras as an invader - it didn’t seem like you were doing that much damage with your Astora, though admittedly I don’t know your stats or upgrade level. You may find your opinion on UGS changes when you use something meatier like an LKGS, Lorian’s, maybe even Zwei or Profaned. I still love Astora for my elemental builds, but honestly Ultras just need to do big damage to justify the cost of entry. As dumb as it sounds, big numbers alone can radically change how fun an Ultra can feel, simply because it feels like they’re doing a better job of living up to their design promise: slow attacks, but big damage. In the end though, I agree that one of your most important skills as an Ultra user is knowing when to switch it out. Ultras have their time and place, but it’s not all the time or in all places.
I agree fel, I think Amish would be getting a lot more damage out of the Lothric Knight Greatsword with bundles for the same stat requirement (obviously only 2h, but considering Amish is forgoing the offhand for now that should be fine) at this upgrade level!
Thanks guys. Yeah, LKGS would have been a better choice, but would have required some build adjustments. I may try that next. The quick rolling attack is huge, and brings pressure to an otherwise pressure-less weapon class.
Congrats Amish! One advice I wanna tell you is that you don't really have to imitate what works for others. If you are comfortable with estoc offhand, just have it paired with the ultra. Ultra 1h with offhand estoc, caestus, dagger, handaxe is actually one of the best pressure tools. As you have the running attack long range HA with decent speed and you have the offhand fast weapon for roll catching. So you can use 2h mostly then if you feel like you need to chase, 1h and use estoc/ugs its one of the best pressure tools. Heck, astora is the best ultra for 1h ugs due to 1h rolling attack so it already works out for your build. Good luck and keep it up.
hey Gabri thanks for the vote of confidence. Ultimately my desire to hardswap isn't borne of wanting to imitate anyone; it's more that I see it as an incredibly effective tool in an invader's arsenal.
Congrats on 6k! Thanks for all of the wonderful content. I've been watching your videos for years now and I can always take something useful from them. You've done a lot for the invasion community and I know I'm not alone when I say I really appreciate it. On the topic of ultras, don't sleep on the rolling attacks. Of course you have to be careful against opponents using a parry tool, but they offer a great way to apply some pressure as they come out relatively quickly. With the Astora I like to mix in the occasional rolling R2 to catch folks who roll expecting an R1. The range is great and the hyper armor on it starts pretty early.
I’m fond of ultra’s and especially the Astora, and the profaned great sword. The trades you can get with the Leo ring and an R2 can get pretty unfair sometimes.
Congrats on the 6k, they are very well deserved! And thank you for the great video, as always, really informative. Despite being quite overlooked, UGS have their place in invasions, even at meta imho
Amish, i have been watching all your videos. From my perspective youre one of the most dedicated souls youtuber out there that constanty break down ds3's pvp aspect into science, and i hope you continue on doing so! I have a suggestion, feel free to take it or not, maybe in the next video, you can make a rundown about every gank invasion situations and opportunity out there, like which weapon to use and what to do in those exact moments. Like a detailed breakdown on every weapon that is viable or effective jn in that situation. Maybe you can bring on other youtubers as well to help you out, summon 3 red to assist you in that particular video and ask them to gank on you or make a controlled scenario to learn all the exploits to counter it. I know this will take a lot of effort but i know u can do it, keep it up amish! O yea u just gained a sub xD
You know I watched this video first thing in the morning. If I may make a suggestion for hardswaps, make sure you mentally integrate that toggle to empty hand as part of the whole thing, and it'll soon be second nature. Damn man you got those bs grabs on forward rolls down, impressive. Congrats on 6k, Amish. Well deserved of course. Please never change a thing, you have inspired and encouraged me and so many others to improve our game and step forward in the community, it's crazy actually. You must have a dark horrible secret, nobody's this nice and loving and warm. Again, thanks so much for being who you are and making the content you make. I'll keep watching as long as you keep making them. 💜💜💜
Awesome stuff Amish! I also just recently did some ultra invasions and I realized I didn't hate it! Unless they're super passive, ultras can be effective.
For hardswaps with empty left hand I recommend reducing the amount of weapons you have on you. You can reorganize your weapon inventory to better suit your needs. Make so it that the weapon you use the most is in close range of other tools that you need to swap quickly to. On some of my builds I did it so that a SS, a spear, and an ultra are within 1 to 2 spaces for easy swaps. And yes I also have a Gundyr close but I generally don't use it UNLESS I'm dealing with the cancer ganks that spam that and glitches at me. Oh and it's great on my new SL65 Storm Queen build. Hardswaps to the Storm Curved Sword for the L2 is hella fun. I main the curved sword on that build but I switch to SS or Mace when I get those tryhards
actually you can have your inventory organized by having 1 of each and then a ton of weapon or just 5 to fill a row for example if you have a str build you have your usual stuff and then you can throw 20 gundyrs so you'll always know where it is
7:20 you can combo an uncharged r2 after that for a big punish on his whiffed parry. R1 R1 R2 the stun doesn't go through from the first r1. The second r1 has the same hitstun as the first, but less recovery into other attacks including the r2 making it combo. You can also combo a third r1, but r2 is epic
@@iamamish second r1. The first r1 didn't stagger him, so the hit counter didn't trigger by the time you hit him with the second r1. The lessened recovery of the second r1 allows the combo to r2 to work
Grats for the 6k man. Gaining that much (well-deserved) recognition outside of the popular phase of Souls games is quite the achievement. Much respect for your dedication to the game and the level of competence you achieved.
If I could give my two cents about hard swapping (maybe this will help those who struggle with it), the most important thing for me was to build the dexterity in my hands and the only way to do that is with repetition, you will be slow at first but keep doing it. You will build your speed to the point where you will swap in the middle of a gank in their face without fear...and this is coming from someone who thought they wouldn't ever be capable of doing it and now I do it like second nature.
congrats on the 6k amish, could've sworn it was already higher before but must be some kind of mandela affect. i'm gonna try use that bait to punish forward rolls because i know how to get the bs but no one ever rolls into me :( also if your weapon is an ultra or slower and they aren't using a weapon faster than yours, i think they get priority on the roll bs or at least a backstab cancel on higher lat so make sure the weapon you're using is able to counter backstab before doing it
Great video as always Amish! If you want to try using UGS without 100% using UGS the Gabri build with offhand dagger (I enjoy offhand corvian) is really fun, and I'd imagine offhand estoc or rapier might work fine too, you just lose some priority. That setup crushes at 80+8 I've found. Also personal taste but I prefer Zwei over Astora for the overhead R2, rolling attack, and similar low stat requirements, also it's only one weight unit heavier than the claymore as well but a bit heavier than the astora. If you ever want to try a UGS build consider adding that or both. I'm presuming you know about G9's Zwei R2 technique but I'll mention it for people who don't know, you can get some janky wakeups thanks to "early" hits with the overhead startup of it. You can do the technique with the astora rolling attack but I personally find it harder to get the full pivot properly after a roll and good luck timing a wakeup with it.
6:17 that wakeup you do is okay, but since it actually landed, I'd immediatly go for the wa. It would rollcatch for sure. Try doing stuff like that where if you can't combo another ugs hit, just go for the wa. It might be helpful for finishing people off
@@iamamish yeah honestly the tracking is bad enough to make it unreliable, so it makes sense to underutilize it. I know that people tend to roll directly away after getting clipped by a lot of damage, so that's why I think using the wa after a true combo might be good. It's just an idea
Amish...getting good at those 'roll-in' BS's as well I see! I have been maining ultra's in invasions from day 1, and knowing when to put them away is BY FAR, the most important lesson to learn. No matter how good you are with one, there are always times when it is more of a hinderance (I 'm looking at you gank casters) and just surprising opponents with different weapons/movesets, is normally more than enough to turn the tide
Personally I've always made my builds be able to use multiple weapons (90 to meta lvl tho) so swapping weapons to counter / change stuff up is always needed. Ugs are super fun in invasions tbh don't be afraid to do the 2 handed running attack when trying to be aggressive from time to time if you know how to buffer or throw running attacks fast will help catching some of the people who panic roll also trying to stay near the end of the hit box while Sprint waggling in like a zig zag pattern helps
I've been working at this. Ring swapping is still something I'm only now getting used to. I have a lot more ring swaps down, but the estus ring is one I need to incorporate.
I'm getting back into sl60 range invasions with a new character and been using the Astoras GS myself. I'm not as good as I'd like so for me it's been more useful turning and burning on multiple opponents using fast weapons with no HA. I probably should incorporate more crit fishing with it but I find that I tend to play too passively with the Astoras whereas I play more balanced with a Kumo
I mained the kumo for a long time. I really dig that weapon. It doesn't suit me as well these days, but it is a good invasion weapon. I feel like in 2017, CGS was a really popular invader weapon, but it has really fallen out of favor lately. It's funny how things change. In 2016/2017, the defacto invader build was small shield and SS. These days it is unusual to see that setup among invaders. Claymore seems like the standard go-to invasion weapon.
Huge congrats on the sub milestone, I really enjoy your content! Would you be interested in testing the successor to PvP Watchdog? No worries if not, but I feel like with your PvP and community knowledge your feedback would be invaluable. :)
@@iamamish cant wait to see how you approach fights, oh another thing I do is use the weapon art to counter other weapon arts, I absolutely love using it against friede scythes when they do the edge walk I send them into space I've been playing alot, lately having fun with the lightsaber mod (its clientside) Unfortunately no lkgs model yet.
I think you could've out-traded the Cathedral Knight guy if you had the Leo Ring equipped. It's nasty enough with a regular R2, but I've outright killed a password summoned phantom with a fully charged Leo Ring counter hit. 1339 damage. It was beautiful.
Amish have you been duelling again lately? The roll in punish, the kick instead of r1 out of a trade against a ss when you have a cs and there’s lat... Either you’re really focusing on keeping yourself polished when you’re invading on you’re getting back some muscle memory! Either way, these are some very good invasionsand your work is showing. RE: ultras, you’d talked in one of your recent videos about “zoning”, specifically about getting out of the zoning mindset where you’re spacing and whiff punishing. I think in ultras there’s a similar concept, but instead of getting out of ‘zoning’ you need to get out of ‘anticipating’ and into forcing. Often I find myself walking towards my opponent, but really waiting to get a read when they aggress based usually on their movement. This is the poise equivalent of zoning and waiting for a whiff punish. Getting in peoples faces, using the threat of *if* you attack and they do, you win the trade, to really bully people into making choices. Trying to corner people and staying inside their guard feels really important to me when I’m using ultras. It crosses over with “getting out of the zone” in that I often am corralling people, trying to get them up against walls etc... to force them to do something. It also takes the boredom (or patience) out of it for me since I’m constantly trying to micro manage the corralling.
Yeah those are good points, and it reminds me of how Jee plays claymore. There is a lot of value in just getting in people's faces and not attacking with an ultra, and using the threat of poise attacks to start getting them to panic and making bad decisions. Thanks for the kind words, I actually haven't been playing all that much at all.
I play great sword normally(either claymore or gaels) and I’d say I’m pretty decent at spacing and using the r2 pokes, but I have a ton of trouble putting pressure on people and I lose a lot in duels and invasions cuz I whiff running r1s trying to put pressure on my opponent. Any tips for being aggressive while using great swords? Congrats on 6k btw I’ve learned a lot from you and Jeenine.
Thanks mate. Honestly GS is really bad (as you know) at pressuring somebody who isn't committed to attacking you. You have to be willing to get into somebody's face and their weapon's range, and trust in your poise to dissuade your opponent from attacing, and your ability to reaction roll if they do attack. If you watch Jee with GS against even PK or dagger, he's not afraid to use his poise threat to get in somebody else's face. That's really the key imo.
Just to add to what amish said, use the weapon art R2 and R1 when getting in their face sometimes to throw them off. The poise on those attacks is incredible and with the right set up you can do a ungodly amount of damage.
space your running attacks better. Don't overuse them. As gabri said in g9's greatsword tutorial, you should do quick running attacks instead of chasing someone down to running attack them. As g9 has said previously, you shouldn't really be sprinting with a gs. Just keep walking around. Your opponent needs to respect your hyperarmor, but you also need to respect your opponent's weapon. Greatsword relies on trades first and foremost. You will not reliably rollcatch with a greatsword. You should focus more on learning your opponent. A lot of people play similarly, so once you get it down enough, you'll be able to do well. Sometimes your opponent will play very passive, so in that case, you can't really do much. You just gotta hope you can get some trades in. Be patient cuz it might take a while to get those trades against passive players. Realistically, you should swap weapons, but that's not learning how to play gs
@@coldhardjayard5424 yeah if somebody is too passive you can do what G does and hardswap to Cgk. Use claymore to get in their face uncontested and then the cgk to pressure. Rinse and repeat.
For below meta invasions, Lorian’s Greatsword get incredible AR for relatively low stat investment. For example; at SL90 +10 you can achieve 700AR with only 26str 25dex 11int (murky) 13fai (Filianore ring swap). That’s bonkers damage for such minimal stat investment. Once you git gud with Ultras you need to pick up the Farron. It can shred in the right hands... but only on 125+ as anything less than a 40/40 gets poor damage 🤷♂️
Ultras are great for parry spammers. The fact that you cannot parry ultras is still not as widely known as you think, even among more "seasoned" players. Plus, with a proper "poise build", the power of the ultra coupled with the ability to hyper armor through people who aren't used to it make it a great invasion weapon.
Just an unrelated question to anybody willing to answer. Was latency also a big problem in the early days of ds3 when there were much more people around and so a much shorter distance between you and your average opponent? Or did it only really become a problem later with ever the ever declining number of people playing? I only started playing in 2020 so I basically grew up on latency and it's starting to get on my nerves.
Latency wasn’t near as bad as it is now but that’s the case in every souls game before it. If you don’t take souls pvp seriously you can enjoy it for a lot longer than the folks who treat it like some fighter
I think at this point, this game is nothing but gank squads and over leveled phantoms and cheaters/hackers. An invader has little to no chance of winning anymore in a random invasion unless you're at a very high skill level such as you or Chase or even Prod. In my last 50 invasions, split between SL24 and SL40, I invaded 2 people who didn't have overleveled phantoms or were part of a gank squad or were cheating/hacking in some way. 2 People. Those two people were also the only 2 I invaded that were from the USA or otherwise weren't in Asia or the Middle East (nothing wrong with those places unless you're a DS3 invader), or were using a family shared account with little to no information set up on them so as to avoid hatemail/getting their main reported for cheating or severely unfair play. I have completely given up on PvP in any Dark Souls game at this point, and with no possible way to acquire a PS5 at a reasonable price to play the Demon's Souls remake I think I'm done with FromSoft games until Elden Ring releases in 2-4 more years. Maybe a bit of an over-reaction, but I'm not skilled enough to deal with 3-4 man gank squads, or people who are competition levels of good at the game who hang out in invasion areas to mess with the average invader like me. I can't beat these people who are ChaseTheBro levels of good at the game, or people who use animation cancel hacks or infinite stamina/health/poise cheats, etc. After 50 failed invasions in a row (those 2 who were average players had blues and inadvertently ganked me) I think I'm just done with PvP. Why did you read all that? It's just a sob story from someone with over 1k hours in just PvP matches.
I was going to comment that you can parry two handed ultra weapons but I forget that rolling r1s can be parried. Like in a video I made I kept baiting for rolling r1s, it was funny I pretended that I wasn't going go parry by rolling away from them, good tactic. But I would love to pvp with you, I'm not like a Swap God or anything.
I use the sharp lothric knight gs for imvasions, you can use it with 16 strengh(two hand) and it does a lot of damage and is buffable At sl 90 with 40 dex and 30 stamina it is really good And you should do a lot of mixups and charged r2's to change your timing so they can't reaction roll properly Guess that doesn't help really but yeah
Yeah the mix-up value on the charged r2s is pretty huge. Do you unlock your R2s, or rely on lock-on? I've been relying on lock-on, but am wondering if I might be better off unlocking them.
@@iamamish i use it locked on. But i’m no expert here, all i know is that it’s a good wakeup and if u hit them with an uncharged r2 just keep spamming them r2s. Either it will roll catch or trade. Unless they’re not poopie brains and actually know how to reaction roll.
@@iamamish oh btw to piggy back off the guy above, it's not as horrible an idea as it sounds to spam r2, but with poke r2s, it's better to stagger them for counter hit damage in case you get a trade. The only reason you should go for this is if you already just so happened to connect an r2. Let's say you just read your opponent going for like a telegraphed running attack, and for some reason you pressed r2 to trade. In that scenario, you can feel free to try going for the staggered r2s if you think they'll panic roll it. Typically, you don't need to unlock your r2s, but if the net is crystal clear, they can panic roll into you without getting hit, but it's just from what I've seen idk. I think it makes the most sense to use an r2 if you go for a trade against another poise weapon. Your r2 will do more poise damage to your opponent guaranteeing that you win that trade. From there on, they'll probably try to interrupt you, roll or trade. In every scenario, you have the upperhand by staggering your r2 and charging it for however long you may need to at that point. This imo, is only good in a 1v1 fight, so if you got someone else on you while you're sitting there blowing all your stamina, you're kinda asking to get backstabbed
Congratulations Amish seeing that notification on my phone at work saying you uploaded always makes me smile I appreciate the fuck outta u bro cheers to 6k cheers to you
Any chance you are going to do a video analyzing user submitted invasions again? Also, do you have a discord server? I would love to be a part of your community and gain some more feedback as I try to improve my PvP game
Hi Virgil, I get a lot of questions about a discord, but I don't maintain one. I'd advise joining JeeNiNe's; there are tons of players there and all of us will be willing to help you out. Hope to see you there! I also may do more viewer invasion videos. I get more requests for those than any other video, yet they're my least-viewed videos. I'm still trying to make sense of that.
I love this game so much, but i think it may be the end od the road for me. The pvp now at days is based on glitches, and lag, and i really lost all the fun i usually had when playing rc ou meta pontiff. And turns out sl 90 and 60 are plagued with disconnects and fog walls, and i really begin to question if i really want to pvp in the game. I ve praticed with some bros, amazing players, really, and get better, and even so ther is nothing i can do against the rkss cancel or estus cancel if i dont learn it myself. I dont wanna spread glitches, but to win i ll have to, so i think i will just get out and wait till elden ring clmes out and hope that the developers patch more often this game
6:37 like seriously they keep trying over and over and over even if you don't know you can't parry that its common knowledge to stop and try something else if you keep on faliling its really simple
@@kitkat-zr6lg I could, but the unequip parry and Gundyr is pretty straightforward. Click the touchpad once to get into your inventory, click 'x' to select your first weapon (highlighted by default), then navigate to the weapon you want, press 'x' again to select it, then the touchpad again to exit the menu (don't try to back out with the circle button - it takes more presses). For the unequip, press touchpad/x/x/touchpad - that will take you into our inventory, select the first weapon, then deselect the first weapon (so now you have no weapon equipped), then the touchpad takes you out of the menu again. It's important in both cases that you not have any offhand weapon/shield.
Bruh, Ultras are amazing weapons. So many meta players use only astora and it's not the best ultra, in fact it's one of the worst. 😂 Too common imo. Can't be parried, hard hitting, good infusions and scaling. You invite trades, stick with a bit of regen on and you're melting other players. Hyper armour is great too, Mixups and roll catching are advanced ultra techniques though, give yourself a bit of time. Good video though, hope to see you out there.
@@iamamish Yeah that's fair, you'll lose trades with other ultra weapons due to the weight of it. The charge is the easiest thing to parry in the game though.
Astora is best for versatility. Best strength- zwei Best dex-LKGS Best dark- either astora or zwei Best faith- LKGS Best crystal- see dark Best quality- profaned Best raw-?
@@mentalgymnast8367 Phew, that's a lot of mental gymnastics to post an arbitrary list.😂😂 Profaned is one of those weapons that gets put in loads of lists but it gets outscaled by refined infusion, people just don't seem to be aware of that. 😅😂
@@Jopeymessmusic I actually prefer lorians as only the lkgs does more damage but only when buffed and usually buffing ugs is not for me as I'm more passive with my ugs and therefore end up wasting bundles
Amish finally getting the recognition he deserves. Here's to the never ending road of getting good 😉
I know right? I am settled on getting fair to middling!

Giovanni, thanks so much - really appreciate that, and glad you are enjoying the videos!
Congratulations on 6k. You are vaatividya of pvp.
I respect your passion man, both in creating videos and playing this game. Seeing Skilled players like is inspiring but I have already given up on the game, but not your videos they are still fun to watch
Yeah remember what I said about giving up on the game? Yeahhhhhh forget that
Congrats for the 6k! Your videos helped me a lot when I got into PvP :)
Awesome! Thank you!
Hey Amish, congrats!! It's about time, you bring a lot more to the community than your sub count reflects, as nice as 6K is. Here's to 6K more!
Also, I find Ultras an interesting case that I also need to learn a lot more about. But if it helps, here's what I know from my experience:
Don’t be afraid to use that running attack, it’s one of the fastest move on an UGS.
Oh and he also has access to poke rolling attacks this way which arguably have better pressure value than the Astora rolling attack
Missed these types of videos! Love them so much. Always more to learn!
yes pay attention to the fishing and you might learn something Mew :|
Your videos are one of the best I have seen , both newcomers and experienced players can use, keep posting such good videos 👍😀
Big congratulations on the 6k dude, thoroughly well deserved!
Thnx mate. Hope all is well with you.
Oh and once again great job with the commentary. As always very insight full and well thought out
I appreciate that, thnx Brett
Congratulations for 6k sub you deserve it
Congrats on 6K my friend! keep going with awesome content, cheers man!

I think ultra fights are probably the most fun I've ever had, very rare to find though. Great vid
yeah it was a lot of fun, but if I were trying really hard I'd definitely want to use something else.
@@iamamish you might like the black knight weapons, the r2's really throw alot of players off, great wake ups, and 2 shot combo potential
Thanks mate and thanks for the suggestion!
You will see lots of dung pies in my next video - Toxic Amish
Thanks for the kind words Yoko, glad you enjoyed it.
Awesome stuff Amish! I also just recently did some ultra invasions and I realized I didn't hate it! Unless they're super passive, ultras can be effective.
Ha that's it exactly - "I didn't hate it"
For hardswaps with empty left hand I recommend reducing the amount of weapons you have on you.
I main the curved sword on that build but I switch to SS or Mace when I get those tryhards
actually you can have your inventory organized by having 1 of each and then a ton of weapon or just 5 to fill a row for example if you have a str build you have your usual stuff and then you can throw 20 gundyrs so you'll always know where it is
@@kitkat-zr6lg
The point is to organize how you want, for what works best for you. Not every needs that cuz some people can swap insanely good

You're saying a first R1 combos into an uncharged R2?
@@iamamish second r1. The first r1 didn't stagger him, so the hit counter didn't trigger by the time you hit him with the second r1. The lessened recovery of the second r1 allows the combo to r2 to work
Congrats for the 6k!
Thank you so much 😀
Grats for the 6k man. Gaining that much (well-deserved) recognition outside of the popular phase of Souls games is quite the achievement. Much respect for your dedication to the game and the level of competence you achieved.
Thanks mate - hoping I see you around when the next game lands.
@@iamamish Oh, I'm ready. In fact, I have been ready for a new one since two years. It's really getting time.
100% agree, the key is to just start doing it and accept that you will suck at first, and get punished for it. That's ok!
Congrats on 6k my dude 🤘❤
congrats on the 6k amish, could've sworn it was already higher before but must be some kind of mandela affect. i'm gonna try use that bait to punish forward rolls because i know how to get the bs but no one ever rolls into me :(
also if your weapon is an ultra or slower and they aren't using a weapon faster than yours, i think they get priority on the roll bs or at least a backstab cancel on higher lat so make sure the weapon you're using is able to counter backstab before doing it
Yeah fishing with an ultra is definitely risky, but that's part of the fun for me. The priority issue though is a big problem.
Dude I am not sure if you know but I did a video with Gabri and fought his CGK/Zwei build. I didn't do very well. That build is crazy good.
@@iamamish Your video is actually the reason I picked up that setup lmao it's so much fun to use, props to Gabri for showing how deadly it is
@@CheapShotFail I think it is legit the only build that scares me. PK? Fine. Murky? No worries. CGK/Zwei? I run screaming.
Love to see you revisit the old format!!
Another great video Amish. Your content is so rich!
6:17 that wakeup you do is okay, but since it actually landed, I'd immediatly go for the wa. It would rollcatch for sure. Try doing stuff like that where if you can't combo another ugs hit, just go for the wa. It might be helpful for finishing people off
Yeah I really underutilized the WA in general, but especially for wake ups.
@@iamamish yeah honestly the tracking is bad enough to make it unreliable, so it makes sense to underutilize it. I know that people tend to roll directly away after getting clipped by a lot of damage, so that's why I think using the wa after a true combo might be good. It's just an idea
Heard that door lol. Loved the vid btw
Nice vid and congrats Amish! 👏👏
Thank you so much 😀
Congrats on 6k
Personally I've always made my builds be able to use multiple weapons (90 to meta lvl tho) so swapping weapons to counter / change stuff up is always needed. Ugs are super fun in invasions tbh don't be afraid to do the 2 handed running attack when trying to be aggressive from time to time if you know how to buffer or throw running attacks fast will help catching some of the people who panic roll also trying to stay near the end of the hit box while Sprint waggling in like a zig zag pattern helps
Yeah buffering running UGS r1s out of an attack is a great tactic that I try to use. I don't think I captured any of that in my clips unfortunately.
In terms of hardswaps, outside of combat get into the habit of swapping to estus ring. Don't underestimate how much it heals
I've been working at this. Ring swapping is still something I'm only now getting used to. I have a lot more ring swaps down, but the estus ring is one I need to incorporate.
Congrats on 6k & Astoras GS is *BAE* 😍
@@iamamish yeah I've been finding a greatsword allows for quick access to pressure and get-off-me in general

Hey for ultras try the blessed lothric knight sword and stack regen great for forcing passive players to trade
Yeah I think blessed LKGS is my next ultra. Plus it has the awesome poke rolling attack.
@@iamamish cant wait to see how you approach fights, oh another thing I do is use the weapon art to counter other weapon arts, I absolutely love using it against friede scythes when they do the edge walk I send them into space
I've been playing alot, lately having fun with the lightsaber mod (its clientside)
Unfortunately no lkgs model yet.
I think you could've out-traded the Cathedral Knight guy if you had the Leo Ring equipped. It's nasty enough with a regular R2, but I've outright killed a password summoned phantom with a fully charged Leo Ring counter hit. 1339 damage. It was beautiful.
Yeah I experimented with Leo on this build but should have used it more
Hey man are u gonna do more viewers invasions, would love to hear what u think about a few clips, keep up the great content :)
Amish can you do some videos on attack priority and other basics or how to get reads on opponents.
Congrats amish
Oh and congratulations on 6k. You deserve it and another 6k on top of that! 👍
@@pigskin94pvp82 alright thank you
I think at this point, this game is nothing but gank squads and over leveled phantoms and cheaters/hackers.
I use the sharp lothric knight gs for imvasions, you can use it with 16 strengh(two hand) and it does a lot of damage and is buffable
At sl 90 with 40 dex and 30 stamina it is really good
And you should do a lot of mixups and charged r2's to change your timing so they can't reaction roll properly
Guess that doesn't help really but yeah
On my 80 dex jeenine cannon, I use it with rtsr and motion blade for a nice sneak attack. 1000 AR with a bundle
I like astora gs cuz i can just spam R2s and it usually just works for some reason

I have similar reservations, but sub-meta is still reasonably glitch-free. Not 100%, but close enough for me.

indeed
6:37 like seriously they keep trying over and over and over even if you don't know you can't parry that its common knowledge to stop and try something else if you keep on faliling its really simple
In an odd way I respect it - it's like, "I'm going to learn to parry even if it kills me".
@@iamamish hey btw could you maybe make a video explaining hard swaps to gundyr for example and the unequip parry it kind of confuses me
@@kitkat-zr6lg I could, but the unequip parry and Gundyr is pretty straightforward.

Yeah the only reason I’m using Astora is because it fit easily into an existing build.
@@iamamish Yeah that's fair, you'll lose trades with other ultra weapons due to the weight of it. The charge is the easiest thing to parry in the game though.
