My favorite memory of the song where my late father played this every sunday morning. Right now, this song made my eyes wet. I really miss father so much! 😭
You ever have a song that you don't like, but it brings back memories? I was never a fan of Skid Row and some of the other "hair" bands of that era. I was into grunge during that period of the late 1980s and early 1990s. I was turning 30 at that time and grunge seemed to be the best thing to hit the airwaves in a long time. The "hair" bands just didn't do anything.
However, my wife's brother come to live with us during his Junior and Senior year of high school when their mother had gone psycho. He was a good kid and enjoyed listening to Skid Row, Poison, Warrant and some of the other bands of that era. He would have his friends over and play darts in our back yard while having this music cranked up at concert level. The neighbors didn't like it, but too bad. They were all good kids and as long as they were in our back yard, they weren't out causing trouble. There isn't much else to do in the California desert.
He just turned 50 last year. Seems like yesterday all those kids were in my back yard playing darts and listening to Skid Row.
Aaah. U mentioned skid row, warrant, poison..exactly the 3 bands i'd say are my favs. Im in my mid 40s. Sometimes i just turn on their rock balads . Memoirs . Simply lovely ❤

@@knowsmebyname Thank you for the kind comment. Unfortunately we are not close to my brother in-law today. There was a falling out between my wife and him several years ago that ended without them speaking to each other. I have encouraged my wife to put it behind her and try to reconcile with her brother, but I don't see that happening. I feel like a hypocrite since I have not spoken to my own sister in nearly 20 years.
Since the squabble between my wife and her brother did not involve me, I tried offering an olive branch last winter by sending his family a Christmas card (without my wife's knowledge). It apparently didn't work since I never got a reply. Perhaps one day they can get over their differences and we can all get together and talk about the fun we used to have.
