I know Danny can act I have seen his acting skills, but Ryan Hawley is a good actor as well and I hope he gets his dues when award time comes. They make a great couple.
You can totally see the fear in Robert's eyes in this. So scared for Aaron. They all are, but especially him. So amazing that Rob went back for the engagement ring, even though it was in the sunken Subaru. The hug that Chas gave Rob was the best part of this. That she has reached a point that she now accepts them. I'm sure that saving her son's life from drowning has pushed her over the top of acceptance. Seeing how upset he is and the shock at the ring. I love how she said that they would have a massive big gay wedding and embarrass the hell out of Aaron. And they'll force Aaron to dance. Great!
Love how Chas comforted Robert. They may not see eye to eye on a lot of things, but the one big thing they have in common is that they both love Aaron to pieces. She knows he's hurting right now and needed that hug. And of course Livvie was being her sarcastic and snarky self, but you can tell she was really worried about her brother and Robert too. Robert going back for that ring spoke volumes and shows us how much he really loves Aaron. Great scenes. Thanks for posting.
And the moment Adam told Robert that Aaron is in surgery. The look in Robert's eyes, when he said "what for." Oh my gosh. He looks so terrified. My gosh Ryan is good.
Just want to add... I think that moment when Robert got up from where he sat alone and went over to sit with Victoria and Adam is a pretty significant moment for him. It's like the moment he no longer wants to be a loner and arms length from everybody. He wanted to be with them and a part of them, and wanted to receive the comfort. That's a major character switch point in a single second. I like that this was even scripted.
I'm emotionally exhausted after this week's events, and then ED pulls out another heart wrenching stunt with the ring. Chas is remarkable, keeping her brave face on, comforting Robert like a good mother-in-law. Part 2 better be only good news...

I love his eyes, they show so much emotion that often word are not needed. His portrayal of Robert is brilliant, he looked so broken over Aaron, his voice asking why when Adam told him Aaron was in op, his face in the waiting room, the way he looked when he came back and found out Aaron still wasn't awake, him sobbing by his bedside, his face when Aaron said yes, my heart broke for him over and over.
Yes I agree his face said it all...... He showed everyone what he was made of ....... His face when Aaron was saying goodbye.... Dying inside he was these past few episodes..... X x x x x
Ryan Hawley is beyond amazing. I like how he can run a gamut of emotions shown on his face in just a couple seconds, and his emotions are so clear in his eyes. Love that. Only thing is he can't bring the tears. But, that's explainable by character development. I love watching him perform.
Robert is so devastated while he waits for news, Aaron really has his heart completely - he would have stayed with him even if they couldn't get out so that he didn't have to live without him
Is Robert Sugden for real? After everything he's been through how is he not lying on the floor staring at the ceiling and not jumping back into the river after the ring?! That's some next level heroism !! "I wasted so much time"… 😭
Well with those awfully long, rather strong looking legs he should be. I read from somewhere that he has done some scuba diving and surfing. I suppose that also helped filming those underwater/swimming scenes.

OK, as much as there was to enjoy about the show last week, when Robert dove back into the lake to get the ring, I did burst out laughing and went, 'You did not just do that, Emmerdale!' :'D So OTT and corny. Other than that, Ryan was amazing in the hospital scenes. I really liked the gritty realism in Robert - his 'I don't know' to Liv asking if he'd saved Aaron, and the fear never leaving his face despite Chas's efforts. He wasn't someone after glory for what he did, just scared stiff of losing Aaron.
These few episodes have been beyond amazing, They have given us Robron fans almost everything we have been wanting for 2 years but they sure put us thru the ringer while doing it.
All in this episode kill me, I stop crying I became a wreck. It is true it forms a heart with their magnificent body moment, forehead against forehead, the most beautiful kiss for me full of love and pain. Robert squeezing aaron harder kissing him and begins to cry "and here I am a tear fountain" and the kiss in the neck then the embrace between them wanting to leave each other beautiful but atrocious moment of pain. And the adieur when they are called by name they are annihilated both to be separated. Quickly make aaron come back to robert because I will not be able to handle all this suffering Ryan and Danny are really great actors I have never seen such an alchemy on screen as they have, they deserve the prize of the most beautiful partnership
Maybe Ryan is ready for a big storyline now?... i really want to see Aaron be the one doing the supporting and not being supported.. or hurt.. or incarcerated.. i really hate the storyline right now.. 😭😭😭

sanyrub That's bc Robert rarely cry. Even when he cried when he was with Chrissie, people can see he was mostly faking it. None of it was totally genuine. People only laugh at his failed attempts to cry for Chrissie,including me. Robert was terrible at crying. He couldn't even shed a tear. Unlike Aaron who will make you cry along with him. But now,people can see Robert wasn't faking his cries for Aaron. I cry too watching him cry. He loves Aaron he sheds so much tears for him. People probably are sick of seeing Aaron cry anymore. That lad deserves some happiness (to see smiles on his face) after all the sadness thrown at him.

Last year he just couldn´t cry when teh story demanded it (when he kidnapped Aaron and shot Paddy for example). He tried. This year he is actually crying, not much, but he has got better. He´s a very good actor, but imo as I have always said, he´s not top 5 in the show or anything. In a way yes, I´m happy lol it is going fast right now. Meaning stories burn out eventually, sooner if they go this fast :) Maybe instead of in 5 years they break up in only 2 years? :) And well, now more seriously: yes the episodes were great (I didn´t watch the whole thing as I used to though). Emmerdale is always fantastic when it comes to big stories. They have the best cast imo. But I learned that around 2010 already. I still think their best one when it comes to stunts or big stories was the siege week and that whole sumemr in 2013 though.

I stopped watching our American soaps long ago.Murder or infidelity was all our shows were about. I do enjoy the outdoor scenes on Emmerdale as it adds to the realism. Only thing that is bothering me now on Emmerdale is Chrissy always going to the pub. Between Aaron and Robert living there it seems she would not frequent it as often. Because I usually just watch what is posted on this page I've not seen much of the other half of the town. I agree though all seem to be a great set of actors. Wish I'd seen a bit more of Val. She went out with such style I think I would have loved her.
